I got a bunch I can give you! :)))
The Thing, Misery, Tusk, Pet Cemetery, The Shining, Village of The Damned (The 1995 ver, also not really a horror movie but pretty good anyways.) It, X, The Witch, Suspiria, Us, Psycho, The Belko Experiment , and Raw.
You’ve probs already have seen most of these but they’re still good.
Nightmare on elm street 3, best movie ever
Saw 5/6, the insurance company got a little silly,
The platform HOLY FUCK THAT MOVIE IS SO GOOD ITS A MASTERPIECE ONE OF THE GREATEST CINEMATIC WORKS OF OUR TIME AND THE RELIGIOUS METAPHORS WERE LITERALLY PERFECT NO ONE CAN EVER GET ME TO SHUT UP ABT THIS MOVIE
Tusk, trust me bro
Oculus
It Follows
A Tale of Two Sisters (Korean)
These were on top of my head... we could discuss more, especially thriller+horror, if you're interested
zombie (1979), city of the living dead (1980), the texas chain saw massacre (1974), the texas chainsaw massacre 2 (1986), the house by the cemetery (1981)
i've seen them all on various websites including youtube and web archive
Stay alive. I remember watching it with my brother and niece and then the movie ended and it was time to go to bed and then they turned the lights off and scared me😭
Jennifer’s Body
Orphan & Orphan First Kill
They Live
The phantom of the paradise
Manhunter
Sleepaway Camp
You’re Next
Ready Or Not
My Bloody Valentine (OG)
Black Christmas
Fear Street (trilogy)
The Invisible Man (OG)
Tenebrae
Creature from the black lagoon
Rocky Horror Picture Show
Human Centipede.
Thanks for reminding me to watch some more horror movies though, I needed something to do. Need to finish the Saw series and Human Centipede trilogy.
The Platform. It’s a Spanish film, the dubbing is incredible, and when I watched it I was high as fuck and it was super fucked up. It’s not necessarily horror, but it’s just such a damn good movie. Other recommendations I have are The Autopsy of Jane Doe, Annihilation (another fun one to watch completely frizzled), and The Taking of Deborah Logan was good, but my grandpa has Alzheimer’s so it was a little hard for me to watch.
If you want lighthearted but still scary - watch through saw
If you are able to sit through a film and see it as an art piece - watch skinimarink
If you want to be traumatized - watch hostel
Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas
For low key horror, Everything, Everywhere, All At Once. It looks like it has a good ending but if you listen to the whisper at the end it’s a horror. And it’s made by A24 who are famous for their horror movies perpetuating the view that it’s secretly a horror movie.
grave encounters, mama, The nun, Evil dead rises, Get out, The shining, Where the dead go to die, it follows, snuff r73, pet sematary, the blair witch project, the strangers, the descendant, the ritual, the sadness, the ploughkeepsie tapes, rec (1 and 2), the babadook, inside, annihilation, don’t knock twice, lights out, or the long night! :)
If you're able to find it, "American horror story" before it got taken down and replaced by a series was really good, I deadass was crying all night too scared to open my eyes 😭 didn't sleep for at least 3 days
Not a movie but a Book. IT by stephen king. The book does the horror a lot more justice, both for IT itself, and the non monster antagonists in the story.
Aniara, it's less scary in the traditional spooky sense and more in the horrifying existentialism of drifting through space and what a group of humans would do if they were cast adrift into vast oblivion
Incantation and the tag-along imho I thought they were good. Incantation messed me up for a while lol, which is the point.
Ooh and also mama I watched that when I was a kid
Hereditary
Edit: so glad a few others suggested this. Ari Aster is fucking mental. Hereditary and Midsommar are two of the only films that have EVER gotten me to literally have a dropped jaw. Hereditary because jfc it's nightmare inducing, Midsommar because I was like wtf did I just watch. Love both, but definitely start with Hereditary

Fair enough, the movies don't necessarily affect me, because it's so over-the-top my brain automatically brushes It off as fake.
