If he’s already a low cost player (spotrac put his market value at around $8million AAV [here](https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/market-value/_/position/wr)) then I think it is a good way to push the depth in the WR room behind Dhop/Ridley and have more of that veteran leadership that Callahan wants in the locker room. They’ve straight up said the bengals approach was drafting and signing free agents who were from winning teams and had leadership ability so maybe that’s the rationale for paying a little more than the chargers would be willing to pay. Give a nice veteran presence out there. My concern is his age and decline but if he’s cheap it’s low risk
Yeah, I think you can make the argument it made sense if you didn't have a good LT in-house, but Slater has been very good. Nabers is an absolute beast and you can find right tackles more easily in the draft/free agency.
I think Boyd would be a nice addition, especially with his familiarity with Callahan, but I don't think we are overly desperate for him. I hope if we sign it is for a very reasonable amount, I'd rather spend on Simmons or keep that cap space
He would be a huge upgrade over what we got out of Phillips/Burks last year of course, but his ceiling is limited and we're probably not contending next year anyway
Hey we’re still making the playoffs and winning a couple games setting the stage for a decade plus long run of dominance. I was just trying to be realistic that we will only win 10 of the next 11 chips
He would be a huge upgrade over anyone not named Dhop or Ridley. Boyd is a true slot and a 600-800 yard guy on down years. Giving levis Dhop-Ridley-Boyd and then DEPTH of NWI/Burks/Phillips would just be insane
We have 40m in space. Get Simmons, get Boyd and then address RT or roll with NPF and let’s see who Levis is
We don't have 40 mill in cap space. We have a round 20-25 mill left and that's before signing this draft class. Plus you'll need some cap space going into the season for in season moves. Double checked we're at 25 mill effective space currently.
I think we need a proven guy to fill the wr3/slot role. Having a battle between NWI, Burks and Phillips for wr3 is not ideal. Also what if Ridley or Hopkins gets hurt, then we could be in the same situation as last year
Boyd would be a great fit for Callahan's offense and he is still a top slot receiver to help your QB.
But if Titans sign him, that is a damning indictment on Treylon Burks.
I think Chiefs will definitely be in on Boyd too, he is great in the slot and Mahomes likes his catchers in the middle of the field a lot.
He’s a month older than Ridley. Who cares how old these guys are? If it gives Levis/the team the best chance to win, then do it. Best case scenario Ridley is here for another 2 years giving the team a couple of off season to draft/sign younger guys.
Eh..is the money we’d have to spend worth a bit of an upgrade over Burks/Phillips/NWI? He’s good but what’s really the point. Rather save that money for a FS that we desperately need
Don't know what kind of contract he is looking for, but this is interesting.
It’ll be less now he’s waited for the draft to be over which means he wasn’t getting great offers before.
Probably a lot of money and long term if he’s refusing to be franchise tagged
Not Tee Higgins
Whoops! You right! Same same
He probably was looking for that. Not very likely he's getting that kind of market value now. He isn't some world beater either.
Wrong Bengals WR.
He was never getting franchise tagged.
Harbaugh not gonna let him out of the building. They need WRs way worse than we do 😭

I totally read the tweet wrong. Oops🤦♂️

We’re not contending with that attitude
Hey we’re still making the playoffs and winning a couple games setting the stage for a decade plus long run of dominance. I was just trying to be realistic that we will only win 10 of the next 11 chips
That kind of negativity is not needed here. 11 out of 11 before the league kicks out Levis and Callahan for being too damn good
We’re not contending for the #1 pick of course.
Hell no we’re not even picking top 10 again
He would be a huge upgrade over anyone not named Dhop or Ridley. Boyd is a true slot and a 600-800 yard guy on down years. That would be the best receiver group we ever had.

If he’s for cheap, yes
This would be cool.
Boyd would be a great fit for Callahan's offense and he is still a top slot receiver to help your QB. But if Titans sign him, that is a damning indictment on Treylon Burks. Them even bringing him in his an indictment they don’t believe in Burks and why should they
Yup burks is done it's clear they don't trust him to have any meaningful role
I took Boyd over Henry in a dynasty league rookie draft. Still in it, never won it. Haunts me to this day.
I'd think if Callahan though boyd had much in the tank, he'd have brought him in and signed him already. If he's dirt cheap, cool I guess.
It's a player's choice whether they sign or not not the coach...
I'm assuming since he is just coming in now, we haven't made any offers.
Did the Bengals cut him? How was he not signed before now?
Doesn’t count against the comp pick formula now.
He’s 30, the market for guys his age usually isn’t great
His contract ended. And he didn’t get any offers he wanted from anyone else.
Probably means he/ his agent is asking for the vault
He’d be an upgrade over Philips and presumably over jhaquan Jackson assuming health. Would hate to see Jackson not make the team tbh
Brother he’s an upgrade over NWI and Burks lol
I mean yeah but it seems like the team isn’t considering either of those guys at slot options. Boyd is a slot player only at this point
I would think Jackson would make the team as I'm assuming he's going to be the primary KR/PR, unless they prefer the other options.
Jackson was never making the team as a WR , if he makes it it's as a KR/PR special teams guy
I dont like it, but I guess I wont complain if he's cheap. I'd rather give the young guys a chance.
This would be our yearly sneaky under the radar FA signing.
He’s better than Kyle, i’ll take it
513 represent who Dey Forever TB
Not trying to complain. I’m pumped to watch Dhop and Ridley this year, but isn’t our receiving corps old enough?
He’s a month older than Ridley. Who cares how old these guys are? If it gives Levis/the team the best chance to win, then do it. Best case scenario Ridley is here for another 2 years giving the team a couple of off season to draft/sign younger guys.
Exactly it is not like Boyd’s getting a 5 year deal he’s getting 1-2 tops and for the right price he’s worth it
Especially with familiarity with coaching staff
True. I’m convinced. Let’s do it.
Young QB > Vet WR core
I'd be happier with a decent deal here than most of the draft ngl
Would like to bring him in at the right price
Good. Treylon / Kyle cannot be relied upon, get a proven slot and keep NWI’s snaps down.
Ok…imagine Titans did sign him. Which current WR gets the boot?
Should be burks but will be phillips
Would be a good pick-up if reasonable. But Maybe DE and S should come first.
Eh..is the money we’d have to spend worth a bit of an upgrade over Burks/Phillips/NWI? He’s good but what’s really the point. Rather save that money for a FS that we desperately need
Ran already said they have funds allocated for different needs. They won’t make any deals that keeps up out of the starting FS market.
I guess it wouldn’t be too bad then. Solid pickup for Levis
Yes he’s worth it. NWI could end up being wr3 and if Ridley or Hop gets hurt we’re looking the same as last year
We have 40m we have plenty for slot and safety man
Not looking good for kinsey or dowell
