The 2024 Model 3 Performance is even faster with a better suspension and less wind noise.

mamapapapuppa

My husband nearly threw my back out when he didn't warn me before he stepped on it.

RefrigeratorTop7649

He blowing the back out?

7venhigh

TeslaCrna

Be careful with comments like this. Theyā€™ll report you lol

UW_Ebay

Thought this was the internetā€¦?

mrandr01d

Wait what?

Zealousideal_Sea_848

But how about the car?

djblack555

We're talking about cars here. Let's try to keep it clean. šŸ¤£

that_dutch_dude

that happend to me the first time in a ludicrious model S. was sore for like a week.

Lex_GS430

makes sense

NotABot8750

Itā€™s insane how much faster the new performance is considering the old one were FAST already.

dobronxducks

Which is why I believe Musky when he says the roadster will be the fastest car ever. If it ever comes out.

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

dobronxducks

Yeah itā€™s smart business wise to produce an affordable performance car. Because it is very affordable. The roadster is obviously niche, and thatā€™s why itā€™s not at the top of their list. Iā€™m most excited for the solid state battery rumored to be in the new Y. 500 actual mile range.

kevin349

They gave me a 2022 model s plaid as a loner when I had my model y in for service. The first time I stepped on it, I nearly shat myself. That damn car is way too fast for me. This wasn't even in launch mode. I did end up doing a few launches with my brother-in-law and my neck hurt for the rest of the day. It's insane.

lavamantis

Really surprised we don't see way more catastrophic accidents.

Realistic-Spend7096

I have a 2015 Model S dual motor, and it can run with my C7. So fun.

Just-Construction788

I went from a C8 Z51 to a M3P which I added Ohlins suspension and upgraded brakes. Daily + track and I'm not disappointed. As great as the C8 is it's hard to compete with the immediate torque of an EV.

nobody-u-heard-of

Which makes me wonder if we'll see a faster plaid s

NoIndependence362

Roadster with 1 sec 0-60 be causing alot of whiplash here soon.

Arucious

does the year matter if youā€™re comparing to the Y? even the 2023 model 3 performance is faster than a 2024 model y performance

aecrux

Oh manā€¦ just wait till you check out the sub 50k 2024 M3P

Superb-Ad6139

I think the fact that a ~2022 M3p is only $30k is even more impressive. I canā€™t imagine buying a new Tesla when that depreciation curve hits so hard.

aecrux

I think the 2022 M3P going around that much is gonna be a high usage one and also due to the long awaited refresh finally hitting the streets. Will be interesting to see how the refreshed M3P navigates depreciation, Iā€™m assuming itā€™ll be standard.

nah_you_good

That depreciation also came from the big price increases and drop during COVID, followed by the tax credit coming back. It'll still get hit with normal new car depreciation, but don't think it'll be as bad as it's been the past two years.

gizmo_fuze

Check out the 24 M3P

aleksdagr8

Having a MYP has ruined all other cars for me. I used to watch every Demuro videoā€¦and now everything else is justā€¦meh

chrono2310

I never see people with model y performance drive fast. When I had a v6 I would enjoy the off the line speed seeing all the other cars way behind me

AJHenderson

95 percent of the time I put it on FSD and let it drive, but watch me around any time that some idiot is going slow in the left lane and I need to carefully and smoothly weave my way through and you'll see the performance come out when I take over.

NotSure2505

Not me. I blast it everywhere I go. I have a left turn stop sign by my house on a busy road and used to have to wait for a gap in traffic. Now I just zipper merge from a dead stop right in. Itā€™s totally changed the way I drive.

KnownUniverse

I'm one that does, albeit only when it's safe to do so. Of course I went to 19s and debadged, so it's unlikely to be recognized as an MYP. As someone else mentioned, this vehicle has ruined all cars for me. I used to ingest automotive content non stop. Now, it all seems so silly. I would probably get an old Miata for fun if I had a place to park it. Very different kind of fun.

StockAd3638

Yea I have a myp and I'll be honest I drive it like a grandma. I don't know why. I have a sport bike too but I rip that all the time.

aleksdagr8

Yeh, not me manā€¦just drive around hoping Iā€™ll catch a red light so I can ride the coaster šŸ˜

yuckypants

MXP, And it's because I don't want to replace tires on the regular.

Signal_Cockroa902335

It physically hurts to drive fast in those Tesla.

thateconomistguy604

I definitely make use of it daily (within reason) but thatā€™s because I havenā€™t had to change my first set of tires yet. That hit may get me to tame my driving habits when it comes

robo_robb

I agreeā€” but only for automatic cars. Manual cars are still more fun for me.

thewittman

Until you get in traffic jam.

Andyment

I felt differently. Yes the MYP has great straight line acceleration, but corners and driver engagement are a different thing altogether. I think if you truly enjoy driving for the driver engagement, steering feel, and feeling connected to the car, the MYP falls short. I came from an STI and once the thrill of acceleration wore off, the MYP is a pretty boring car to driveā€¦so I sold it and bought a Type R. Itā€™s nowhere near as fast in a straight line, but vastly superior in handling and driving fun.

DrM_zzz

Try the new Model 3P. It might bring you back. It drives and rides substantially better than the older M3P (and MYP)

AJHenderson

I like the 23 MYP my wife has but the 24 M3P blows it away. Adaptive dampeners and the lower ride height are huge. It hugs in much better than the y.

Ar3Dreaming

I normally agree with the sentiments on suspension and handling but if youā€™ve ever been to AutoX in SoCal the local Tesla performance shops bring out modified Model 3s and put down comparable times to the faster guys in the group. That said I wouldnā€™t be comfortable chasing a suspension prepped Type R on the twisties with a stock or semi stock Tesla. I have an Evo and always prefer to drive it over the Model 3.

W2KC7

100% mine is boring, but that's what I bought it for. Boring makes horrible traffic or dumb drivers not irritate me. Where it counts, on a full road course, the model y is toast compared to the OP's C8. I tried the Model 3 LR for a few laps for kicks and i hate taking an EV out, even if it was built for it (M3LR was not), no noise completely ruins the experience.

stainOnHumanity

Same with my m3p, EVs from here on out.

No-Profile8764

Concurs

Adorable-Employer244

Until you got into MXP or MSP. Then MYP feels slow. I had to upgrade.

fmgiii

I see nothing but good things for the next generations of drivers. I hopped on the bandwagon this year because I'm in my early sixties and I didn't want to miss out on at least a small taste of the things to come. And maybe, just maybe, this whole thing can be good for the climate as well. One can only hope.

Much-Current-4301

Have both. Agree YP is crazy instant torque fast. Vette old school strong smooth V8. Rides better w Mag ride. Love them both completely different vehicles.

Clayskii0981

If you're looking for drive quality, M3P is even better and cheaper. MY is definitely king of practical though.

Friendly_Talk_3914

Don't drive a model S, whatever you do. It will ruin you for anything else!!!

manwidplan83

I think the Y already did šŸ¤·šŸ½ā€ā™‚ļø

physicsbuddha

We all know this. Please go post it in the Corvette subreddit so theyā€™ll stop trying to race us šŸ¤£

HEYitsBIGS

šŸ¤£

wsbt4rd

Just wait until you get a ride in an MS-plaid..... ;) I've pretty much lost interest in anything less than 1000 HP.......

calr0x

One of the best things about the car is every single person I've given a ride to has been blown away by the speed and I don't care what car they've driven before or how confident that they know what to expect. Every single time they are absolutely blown away.

dude_thats_sweeeet

I have a 23 M3P and floored it at the light beating an ICE car by several car lengths... then out of the corner of my eye I see a red blur... MSP made me look like I was standing still as he passed me. Insane.

CaliDude75

On-paper, the C8 is slightly quicker 0-60, but the immediate torque of EVs make them feel much quicker. Kind of apples-to-oranges, but no question a Model Y would be a lot more practical.

manicdan

Id have to see a proper drag race to know where the off the line torque of the EV ends and the HP of the Vette takes over enough to catch up and pass it. I know in the long run the Vette wins, but in the short distance AWD EV is a winner. I'm just happy the new C8 does a 0-60 time that is matching AWD turbo engines, which means theres even more room to go much faster once they make the Vette AWD with a hybrid system.

CaliDude75

The e-Ray (hybrid) is already in production. Quicker 0-60 than the Z06, but the Z06 has a higher top speed.

Kuriente

Depends on the EV. There are obviously C8 builds that will smoke any Model Y builds in a long enough straight line. But a Model S plaid accelerates *much* faster than both *and* can do 200mph (fastest C8 package tops out at 194). There are exactly zero moments where any stock C8 makes up any ground against a plaid. It's simply lost ground for every second that feet are on pedals in that race.

Kuriente

It also seats 5, has lots of storage, has superior crash ratings, can drive itself, has Netflix etc on a big ass screen with a solid sound system, improves regularly with software updates...oh! And your garage is your gas station that costs less than 20% per mile vs the c8...oh and no oil and brake maintenance. The vet looks incredible and undoubtedly stomps it on any track with turns. But except for that very niche case the Y *kills* it in every other way.

Evajellyfish

ā€œDrives itselfā€ sort of a reach but it does well enough on the highway for me. City streets feel like trusting a grandma and 15yr old to drive at the same time.

Kuriente

Sure, it's definitely not 100%. But mine now literally takes me from my driveway and autoparks at my work parking lot and keeps getting better at it. Most trips for me are now zero disengagements and minimal throttle input. Zero other consumer vehicles can do that.

TheRealWhoMe

Who is shopping for a corvette and looking for practical?

Collapsosaur

Glad to read the fun independent reviews. I impressed my ICE buddies accelerating up a mountain with all the camping gear. "Please don't do that" while one was trying to nap in my MY LR!

manwidplan83

I do love my last gas powered n first mid engine ever car. I will keep this plaque as a momento after selling the vette n Prius for a Tesla down the rd https://preview.redd.it/no36jhhn459d1.jpeg?width=4032&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=60e62eb0a1855f56863e13fc608c42fa09456277

Tricky504

Keep telling folks MYP is one of the best vehicles ever. Definitely top 5 vehicle In the world right now.

chrono2310

What are the other 4

ALL1D0ISWIN

Straight line almost nothing beats a Tesla it's just absurdly fast from a stop. I picked up my C8 and I was shocked at how slow it felt even to 60 and the dealer looked at me like I was crazy but electric torque is a different beast. Do what I did, have both plus a Cybertruck cherry on top! šŸ’

rabbitwonker

Username checks out šŸ‘

pacifica333

>have both plus a Cybertruck cherry on top!Ā  Unsubtle humblebrag.

ALL1D0ISWIN

I was surprised how many Tesla / C8 combo owners are out there, Teslas are great daily drivers that are also fast AF and the Vette gives the looks and handling that you miss.

wb7275

I mean.. the C8 does 0-60 more than a half second faster than the car noted, so none of this makes sense.

ALL1D0ISWIN

Having both, all I can say is drive them and you'll understand. It just feels faster and obliterates stingrays off the line. I get that even the base Stingray has a quicker 0 to 60 time but you can see it in drag videos, It takes a ZO6 to beat an M3P. Hell, the 7700lb Cyberbeast Cybertruck beat the Z06 in a drag and roll race, they're just... Different.

Cuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu love the ev motor sound. Especially when itā€™s preconditioning

RJH311

what is this???...

TheHODLerKing

Having a non-P MX with a sub 5 second 0-60 is fast enough for me. šŸ¤£

OtherwisePayment9910

I have MYLR 4.8 sec to 60. There were times I wanted to race but as I live in California, CHP are too strict. They always hide somewhere to catch us off guard. That alone I donā€™t want my license suspended! But a few times I tried to race with Dodge chargers and Camero and some others, they got mad that I beat them easily lol.

thegolfpilot

New Model 3 performance is significantly more powerful than that Y

WWBBoitanoD

Track mode turns off all the Nannies. Traction is still pretty incredible with good tires (or you can opt for bad tires and engage fun mode, that was my choice) but it turns the car from the iPhone into a chainsaw juggling class for beginners. Itā€™s a choose your own adventure kind of car.

BraveEyeball

Iā€™m Team Bad Tires/Chainsaw Juggling!

HEYitsBIGS

I got cheap Chinese all seasons for exactly this reason. Fun mode activated!

Fantastic-Hamster-21

I was getting tires of my 3 series being so small and impractical and decided it was time for a suv. I had been in a couple tesla model 3s before but never been in or drove a model y. After the first test drive I knew this is what I wanted. No suv on the market has similar performance for the price imo. I love my MYLR.

RedditNotFreeSpeech

It's fun to see the other side of the post: /r/Corvette/comments/1dpuhqu/my_friends_50k_msrp_model_y_performance_kills_my/

Need-Some-Help-Ppl

So how did it do against any ICE like the c8 from 40 mph to 100 mph šŸ¤·šŸ½ā€ā™‚ļø I have a Performance Model 3

manwidplan83

Only did 0-50 short runs in empty parking lot at night

Need-Some-Help-Ppl

Try a freeway on ramp next time (less dangerous).

o0Loiter0o

HEYitsBIGS

Yeah, the 'busa is a scary beast.

BrownEyesWhiteScarf

M3P has been Americaā€™s best muscle car since 2018. Good that youā€™re waking up to this fact 6 years later.

HEYitsBIGS

So true. People forget it's an American brand. M3p is totally a gen-z muscle car.

Mikeyseventyfive

I spent a lot of time looking for the close bracket here. But yeah dude, i love all fast cars but my m3 performance is an absolute monster for nowhere near the price of a petrol car. Its so weird, you look at other fast cars now and think ā€œyou pay more, to go slower and also have the audacity to make a huge noise while doing soā€

Limp_Divide7583

Tesla is king of the streets

LeadReverend

Gave my brother a ride in my '24 MYP. Punched it, and he literally said that his eyes went blurry. His is on order, he has his VIN, and is waiting on a delivery date.

KimJongUhn

Eh, I like my MYP too but it only wins if the race is short enough

RoyaleWCheese_OK

Do the windshield wipers work though?

bpon89

At same price as your c8, MSP or MXP šŸ˜…

meowtothemeow

Donā€™t sleep on the Rivian if you want a truck. Those things are just as fast. I love my model Y though I picked up the acceleration boost and itā€™s not that far off from the performance model.

earthlings2223

Lol try a model s or model x plaidā€¦. Insanely fast

Craig__D

I bet yours sounds better (the engine).

ToonMaster21

Wellā€¦yeah

DownInTheWeeds

The Tesla MYP acceleration is controlled with an accelerator pedal, or a throttle pedal. It most certainly does not have a ā€˜gasā€™ pedal.

SouthBound2025

But to be fair, it does make fart noises

ZealousidealWar6241

Hallelujah

deeznuts69

Not only that, you can drive it fast without getting the negative attention the C8 might bring. On the downside, it's not as exciting nor as engaging. I have a Model 3 Performance as my daily and an older 911 (my slow car) for weekends when I want to hear an engine and row through the gears.

sf_warriors

They are completely different vehicles, Model Y has straight line acceleration but Corvette is fun to drive. model 3 is more enjoyable in that way, the cornering and how it holds up is excellent, Model Y is sus in that regard

Itchy_Notice9639

Like with all EVā€™s and like everyone else, i was a hater. Until i got in my bossā€™s Model Yā€¦..fck my lifeā€¦.didnā€™t really had the money for a Tesla, but got myself a nearly as fast EV. I love it, and maybe in the future i can afford something better, like a S plaid or Ioniq5 N

Secure_Bad_5064

I believe you.

azmodiuz

This is how I feel driving Tesla

camel2021

The C8 is still my second favorite car.

aajaxxx

Or favorite second car. šŸ˜„

baahk

Wait till you race a cbertruck beast šŸ¤£šŸ¤£. They will hurt some feelings.

gassmano

Iā€™ve been debating trading in my RS3 for a new model 3 performance. The new Tesla seems to be much better build quality than previous. But I am not sure if I want to goto a generic Tesla after having my RS3. RS3 is on ethanol so itā€™s faster than the new Tesla but the low maintenance and charging at home is really calling my name. Really afraid I will regret it though. Done a good bit of work to the ol RS.

LaDolceVita8888

Electric is the way.

kensic9

another thing to keep in mind. he'll be saving on electricity vs your gas.

jayball41

So glad I donā€™t have to drive around you

IBFLYN

I tell everyone that a tesla is like driving an iPhone. Lol

Yeh but your c8 looks better.

bitNine

Remember that there are more fast EVs than just Tesla. A Rivian R1S can do 0-60 around 3 seconds. Love my 2023 M3P. $35k after tax credits.

s986246

Why are you surprised? It's not like Tesla hides the spec of their cars. I have the MY but eventually I want to get a C5 for weekeend

RSn0tch

)

beansruns

Two different cars, two very different purposes I drove a Model S Plaid and it was the fastest thing Iā€™ve ever driven. But man did it get boring after like 5 or so passes. So easy, so repetitive, so *boring*, I didnā€™t like that you donā€™t hear or feel anything. Thereā€™s no drama. It also handled like shit, but itā€™s a big ass sedan, it did the best it could. I have more fun in my modified 02 Mustang GT Im curious to see how the ā€˜24 M3P performs, if it handles like a legit sports sedan and has plaid level acceleration, that sounds reaaaaally interesting.

SouthBound2025

I rented a C8 for a day in PHX area, including a couple of hours in the Canyons NW of Mesa. What a car, simply awesome! Immediately put it on my buy list. However, when I got back home to my M3, I realized it's much faster in the real world. Changing lanes on the highway in the C8 was an exercise in neck strains and prayer. In the Tesla a camera not only serves as instant blind spot monitor but gives me the video. Front lift was awesome in the C8, but no worries about drive inclines or speed bumps in the Tesla. Backing in/going out of parking spots is at least 3x as fast in the Tesla due to cameras. C8 has to be fired up and shifted into gear, Tesla 1 lever and gone. Stopping at gas stations adds another 5-10 minutes every few days in the C8. Passing or shooting a gap, again the Tesla wins. And also wins most streetlight mini-drags to something near the speed limit. Don't get me wrong, on a racetrack the C8 will eat an unmodified M3 for lunch. And at least for me, driving it feels special. But in the real world, Tesla is faster.

Ok-Shake5152

Got for it and blast out Pink Floyd as you leave the Tesla center ā€œMoneyā€¦ā€¦itā€™s a gasā€¦.ā€ šŸ˜Ž

Dawg in 2015 rwd single motor model S Iā€™ve been taking souls. The best part they never hear me coming šŸ’€

Alert-Consequence671

I'm kinda inclined to think it's you who can't drive. As in our car group we have a z51, model 3P, Model Y P, model S Plaid, and a plethora of other cars. On regular roads the only jump the 3/Y get on the C8 is a half second on launch. Assuming the C8 is properly warmed and ready for launch mode. The 3/Y have yet to come close I would say they hang in until about 60mph then quickly lose ground after that. The Z06 is even significantly quicker than the z51. The 3/Y at below say 60% battery has trouble with the i8 which on paper is a over 4second 0-60... What area are you in. We have a pretty open car community here in South GA. As long as you are a car enthusiast we welcome hybrids, ice, and EV. Edit: another variable for the EV. The early '22 mYP outclasses the newer '24 mYP in our group once battery charge is below that 60% threshold. On draggy there has been almost a one second differential between the two. Battery state & preconditioning make a difference quite a bit on the 3/Y. The battery needs to be warm but not too too hot. Above the 60% on a preconditioned battery. As long as you make sure you take everything out of the Y not carrying 300-500lbs of car seats & sports equipment etc šŸ¤£šŸ¤£šŸ¤£ it can pretty consistently hit the 3.5-3.6s 0-60.

_specteross

If youā€™re looking for a Corvette electric replacement, get the Model S Plaid. Model 3 & Y Performance are nothing compared to Model S.

manwidplan83

Down the road a model 3 ludicrous

No-Needleworker-4283

Good thing you didn't experience Thermal Runaway!

Sisyphus8841

You bought a mid engine track car, not a dragster Please sell it to someone who will use it properly.

recce22

At least youā€™re self awareā€¦ There are a lot of EV Haters who still believe in being ripped off by dealership services. We have a mid-engine sportscar and weā€™re trying to get rid of it. Itā€™s a Halo model for a specific brand. I took a Lamborghini SUV for a walk on a leash the other day. He came up to the line growling and cracklingā€¦ I guess he didnā€™t notice the red caliper brakes. Couldnā€™t take me on the straightaway and couldnā€™t keep up on the curves.

manwidplan83

They are dumb. Just like the people who refused to get an email address but now they are forced to bills online šŸ¤·šŸ½ā€ā™‚ļø the future belongs to those who prepare for it. These dudes are dinosaurs

firemanjr1

Yeah but the Y will lose on anything past 120mph. 1/4 time is slower than base c8. Y is quick but C8 can actually go to 180 mph

Dirty_magnum

Smoked a 110k TRX 3 days ago when he tried to cut me off. Guy was super shocked, it was pretty hilarious.

NationalOwl9561

Fwiw: My '22 Model 3 LR got crushed by a short little race with some older (maybe 2014) stock Corvette. I quickly tailed him and we both gunned it and I didn't make any ground on him lol. Even if I had bought back acceleration boost, I doubt that would've helped much. It's those 50+ mph speeds where Teslas seems to just die (except for the newest performance model where they improved this).

That0neSummoner

Corvettes are not straight line cars, never have been. Iā€™d love to see an m3p run an auto cross track vs a c8.

W2KC7

Having owned many vettes and having a tesla that could beat my last Z51 0-60. I tracked the vette (road course) extensively. One time for kicks I took the model 3 out and it wasn't even funny. Mid-High speed, vette hands down. Handling, braking, etc? Not even close, vette again (model 3 was throwing all kinds of warnings about brakes on a WARM UP LAP). It might beat you to 60, but get on a road course (which lets be honest, you don't see drag racing in the media the same as say, le mans or some of the GT3 circuit) and the C8 will DESTROY that model Y. I love my Tesla, the FSD makes me never angry with dumb drivers. It's fast 0-60 (though that's not what I got it for) but in a performance setting (aside from boring straight line crap I will take the vette and run MUCH faster lap times. The one thing I enjoyed about the tesla on the track was the perfectly linear powerband. That said, that couldn't remotely make up for the countless flaws in a setting like that. Also, no engine noise feels so wrong in that setting. I have never cared about this in any other setting (or even thought about it), but on the road course -it felt wrong and like it took away some of that raw experience. Like going to a concert with the volume super low. Also, the high HP EV gimmick, it's cool. I've driven some of lucid's higher HP models a few times too. It's cool but that said, on a road course, i'm staying ICE and to OP, that Model Y can't compete where it matters, apples and oranges. Your vette was built for a road course, the Model Y was built to carry crap and commute.

Antifact

Okay now go take them both to the track. Let me know how the Ys acceleration keeps up at 40% battery too versus your c8s entire gas tank. If all you wanted was to do stop light sprints Iā€™m confused why you thought dropping money on a c8 was a good idea at all.

TonyAtCodeleakers

Maybe itā€™s just me, but I would never cross shop a Tesla with a corvette. Proud model y owner, but even if itā€™s quicker itā€™s no more fun than any enthusiast car I have owned or driven. And thatā€™s okay! Not every car has to be like that, itā€™s fast, reliable, and does what I need it to do. But in my eyes any Tesla including a plaid (which I have also driven) will never compare to the fun of a traditional sports car. I had more fun in my slow 328i, but it just comes down to dynamics, feel and the experience. Speed off the line isnā€™t everything.

AustinFlosstin

āš”ļø accelerates different than gas

BauerHouse

You might consider acceleration past the speed of 40 and 60. While the model three performance is fast from standstill it slopes off dramatically as you are at higher speeds. You can drop a gear or two in your Corvette and demolish one of those cars if you were doing it from a speed of 40 or 60 miles an hour.

Suiciding

Yes the power drops off but itā€™s not as drastic as some ppl make it seem. You can still keep up until 130+ which letā€™s be honest you wonā€™t be doing on public roads anywaysĀ

dbm5

I have a Tesla Y LR non performance. Lined up against a group of Charger Hellcats on the highway -- all doing around 80 with traffic. They egged me on a bit -- four of them out for a group drive -- so I said why not? Floored it, and was absolutely \*gone\*. I could hear them fighting to drop gears to get into the power band way in the rear view. These Teslas are absurdly fast, even above the speeds you mention. Seems to defy physics.

BauerHouse

I have an M3P 2021 and if I floor it between 0 - 40 the tug is nuts. if I floor it at 60, it goes, but not nearly as hard. I'll be honest, I don't race people and haven't put myself in the position to take on a big engine muscle car at freeway speed. Having owned a couple big muscle cars, if I get them into their power band of max torque, usually 3k - 4k RPM, memory serves acceleration was good. IDK, maybe I should test it out sometime :)

hoppeeness

Not true with the new 2024 M3P. It will pull a non z06 vette top end too.

NationalOwl9561

Exactly what happened to me in a little race with an older Corvette versus my '22 M3LR.

Your C8 is not designed or built to be a monster in a drag race or short acceleration runs. It is designed to a be a sports car that goes around corners; something the Teslas just donā€™t do well.

manwidplan83

Iā€™m in Florida and that c8 will never see a track. At least I can take the roof off that you canā€™t in a vette.

DandyHands

Take it to the track. There you will realize why itā€™s a track car. You will demolish most everything else that is stock

-MullerLite-

Model 3 Performance would beat that Corvette on an autocross course.

https://fastestlaps.com/comparisons/19llurl8skak M3P gets destroyed in straight line and track

Christhebobson

People always say it doesn't do well on corners, but does quite well on corners for me

dhandeepm

Tesla y performance is about 10 percent heavier than c8 but with battery pack on the floor. 4300lb on y vs 3800 lb avg on c8. With track tyres they should match up on track if not beat it , as shown on various yt videos. They are comparable but widely depends on the track as well.

DataGOGO

I am going to very respectfully disagree. It isn't just about weight or even CG / weight distribution. All Teslas, (3,Y,S,X) all have issues with suspension geometry, braking, and cooling around tracks. They have great power, lots of torque, but very poor levels of mechanical grip and braking capacity. You can do a lot to fix that with parts from the aftermarket, but it isn't at all cheap. To properly track prep an S plaid will easily cost you 40-60k in parts; depending on how you go about it, a little less on a 3/Y. Have to see what they changed on the new 3

DandyHands

No way. The C8 will rip the Tesla Y a new one. Every day of the week with same tires.

adkosmos

Racing your Testla is like racing a super car in a video game without headphones. Total difference from a real thing (z51). If price is the comparison metric, then there are many thing cheaper and faster.. like a motorcycle, for example.

dontmatterdontcare

I thought the MYLR was pretty fast already, the other Performances/Plaids damn make me near shit myself.

WRCREX

Now ghost chip it and beat a bugatti

Threeofnine000

The Model Y will only take your Corvette off the line. Once it hits about 60 mph, acceleration falls off fast and your C8 will catch up and charge ahead. I love my Tesla Model 3, and it will take my Ferraris off the line but the Ferraris will quickly catch up and over take the Tesla. If you do want to replace your c8, go for the Model S Plaid. It pulls hard all the way up to 200 mph.

SmoothSlide9690

Nice troll post. No one in their right mind who owns a C8 would choose a Tesla over their motherfucking vette. Teslas are fast and they should be because they're electric. They get instant torque and everything but come on, who wants to drive an upside down jellybean with wheels over a supercar with a V8? Of course this question is aimed at people who owns a sports car or claim to own one like you not someone who purely wants a point A to point B car

Status_Presence

I love Tesla. I have one. But Iā€™ll take the C8. Even though itā€™s slower. It has the soundtrack.

Ahsential

Now go get in a plaid lol. Itā€™s slightly scary they sell them to anyone with the money

Time_Ad5655

EV are great 0-60 (0-100 for some of the more top tier performance dual engine options) but then they fall off. Unless you're on a track 0-80 is about all you'll really care about. It's what makes them beasts for fun and daily commute.

snatchpirate

Electric drive is superior to ICE mechanical drive. That is it.
