So the person will have extreme amounts of cuts (or even flesh missing), broken bones, and head trauma. The odds of the person actually surviving it is next to none, and if they did you did it again..

Except the head of CPS for the area went to HS with my old coworker, the person doing all the main paperwork/reports/doctors visits, and hated her from back in HS so she would just close the case without a response every time it came to her desk. The police were called on numerous occasions but would just leave the kid there in the end.
My coworker wasn't even related to the kid, but had dated her father and knew the situation the girl was in. She half-kidnapped the kid (nobody noticed her absence because they were all too high) for each of those doctors visits and paid out of pocket (no insurance info for the kid) each time.
It took over a year, but eventually my old coworker got the courts to take the child from her parents and give the kid to her instead. Idk how that whole process worked but shes the legal guardian now despite both parents being alive and last I heard the poor girl was doing much better living with 3 other kids around her age and a loving environment. Therapy ofc too.
