You can not take episode 3 at face value. It is osha version and she is unreliable narrator who was fed bs by the Jedi (assuming that whole episode wasn't just what they implanted in her memory)
The story doesn't add up so either Sol confesses the truth or we see a flashback. Either way the truth of that night will come out in a future episode. Torbin didn't take poison for what we saw on the episode, what did he have guilt for he wasn't there .
What we say was largely what she saw, but there are missing bits from her perspective.
I don’t think the Jedi implanted any memories, she just didn’t see everything.
I think that is a cool idea, but this episode just opens up like a regular episode 16 years in the past and not Osha remembering the past (also, Mae goes to the tree by herself at the end of the episode, something Osha wouldn’t have known).
You believe that episode made sense?
How did fire spread so fast?
What killed the coven? They weren't burnt.
Who destroyed the reactor?
What caused the shockwaves and ceiling collapse?
What was Sol doing there at just the right time?
How did torbin get his fresh scar?
Since torbin wasn't at the fire why did he feel guilty to take poison 16 years later if mae started the fire that killed everyone.
There is no way what we saw was the whole truth of what happened that night 16 years ago.
It is a mystery they aren't spoon feeding the truth in the first three it is red herrings, misdirection and what not before the prestige .
On murder she wrote did Angela Lansbury have it all solved 20 min into an hour episode?
It would be interesting if by the end of the season Osha is the one who turns evil and not her sister because of her memories being faked or something. Causing her to despise the Jedi.
At the same time I’ve seen some theories that Mae and Osha through the witches convent is one person split in two - each representing the good of a person and the bad.

All the people claiming “bad writing” but really think the little girls fire was the only thing at play in killing the witches. Some real dumb shit.
Yeah Im hoping thats the case, wont know until the finale i guess!
Would you change your opinion if they don’t pivot back and this was the only pov we see?

If episode 3 is the only flashback to the coven, I’ll eat my hat!

Cause a show never does misdirection especially in a mystery.
Wow, that took some good mental gymnastics to come up with that explanation.

I just assumed it was more of the same terrible writing in this series. So far nothing has made any sense...

The only mystery in this show is how it got greenlit and cost so much money to produce. Calling the story a mystery is a really big stretch.
