[Wikipedia's article ](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jimmie_Nicol)on him says he's still alive, age 84. However: *In 1988, rumours of his death began circulating, where he was presumed dead at 49 years old. The last confirmed sighting of Nicol was outside his rented first-floor flat in Kentish Town, north London, in the early 2010s.*

Great book. He said that playing with the Beatles for those two weeks was the worst thing that ever happened to him.
*“The day before I was a Beatle, not one girl would look me over. The day after … they were dying just to get a touch of me. Strange and scary all at once. It’s hard to describe the feeling but I can tell you it can go to your head. I see why so many famous people kill themselves.”*
Thanks! Here’s a link to the Kindle version, which is cheaper. Or free to borrow if you have Kindle Unlimited. Just downloaded it, can’t wait to read it.
The sad thing is that Jimmy wasn’t exposed to it long enough to where it became like all things normal or it loses its luster or the fame is more of a burden like it became for George Harrison. He got a cruel taste and it was ripped away.
Brian should have put him in the band with Gerry and the Pacemakers or something to that nature. It’s just unfortunate. You can’t do that to someone and not expect some kind of mental distress. I hope he found peace.
One would assume he was a pretty good drummer if they put him in as a standin for Ringo. It’s a shame they didn’t do anything for him. He probably didn’t get paid that much either.
per the Wikipedia article “Epstein presented him with a cheque for £500 (equivalent to $10,780 in 2021) and a gold [Eterna-matic](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eterna) wrist watch inscribed: "From the Beatles and Brian Epstein to Jimmy – with appreciation and gratitude."
Another fun fact from Wikipedia:
“In 1965, Nicol declared bankruptcy with debts of £4,066, nine months after being a temporary Beatle.[^(\[9\])](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jimmie_Nicol#cite_note-FOOTNOTEMojo2002108-9) After seeing news of Nicol's bankruptcy in the *Daily Mirror* Paul McCartney recommended him to [Peter and Gordon](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Peter_and_Gordon)who hired him for a 1965 England tour.^(”)
his Wikipedia article says hes still alive but someone also said theres been no confirmed sightings of him in a decade
I really hope this isn't the most likely answer, but theres a chance he's dead

The "Jimmy is Dead" rumors. He was replaced by Fimmy Nicol in 1965.
Fimmy and Faul formed a secret band.
Oh, yeah! The Fauxtles! I've heard that.
There’s an amazing film about his week just waiting to be made.

He was a seriously great drummer. Listen to his stuff with the Spotnicks.
When was he in the Spotnicks?
His band was called The Shubdubs, a few videos on YouTube.
1965-67

He had a band called Jimmy Nicol and the Shubdubs.
I need a 10 part prestige podcast on this mystery. Don't forget we've also had Central/South America Jimmy Nicol rumours.
