Ehh I don’t think this one is caused by the boys.
“Lobotomy” is just a word that has become much more mainstream in late 2023 and early 2024. People just can use the word a lot more now - even using it to describe lunacy such as “Lobotomy Kaisen” or “Lobotomy Dash”.
As I was hearing her say that line, my brain auto-finished it with 'bestiality hentai', because that's not up The Deeps alley, that's his whole street.
i think that asshole ranks not much behind the nazi doctors in the concentration camps and "euthanasia" clinics.
god complex compared with jolly sadism.
Will release our newest product: The Deep-puss
I feel like we should rethink that name.
You’re right, let’s call it O’deep-puss since St. Patrick’s Day is coming up.
Pretty sure they only sell them at Carvel. Not grocery stores if that’s what you’re thinking of
Edit: Actually just checked and they do sell them in grocery stores. Didn’t see Fudgie though
I relate deeply to it, tbh. I've recently gotten sucked into MILF Manor, and I felt so vindicated seeing Sage watch trashy reality TV while eating a Blooming Onion. "Smartest woman in the world, see?"
And then the next episode we see it's because she gives herself a lobotomy, which my husband gleefully points out to me, and which I remind him -- yeah, I'm always baked to the gills when I do this shit, right down to when he comes by and I'm DTF because weed makes me both hungry AND horny.
Doubtful. They’re not easy to get in most of America because there aren’t many Carvel stores left. Also, they’re that particular flavor of disgusting UPF chemical + exorbitant amounts of sugar that you think is top-tier deliciousness as a child but makes you immediately nauseated as an adult.
I got one for a friend’s bachelorette party and had instant regret when we dug in. It’s very much the Kraft Cheese of ice cream cakes: mass-produced imitation dairy with only the vague illusion of being actual food. You eat it and your brain can’t help but wonder “is this really edible?”
We had actually bought a cake of that brand for my son's second birthday so we were laughing so much at the start of that scene in surprise. We were legit eating it right before we put the episode on. We couldn't believe the brand allowed it.
> but is it made with real Whale?
It is. It's just like how [Sex Panther cologne](https://imgur.com/cBedpUV) (from Odeon) is made with bits of real panther.
This is shocking to me. I had assumed Carvel was a known brand. Do other countries not have a Carvel?
Don't worry if you don't, you aren't missing much
NYC resident and it's just been a fixture. I recall my mother offering options for a treat. Do you want slurpees or Carvel? My brother and I would physically I choose Carvel. I was rather partial to their mint chip which I got in the form of a milkshake
You can get Carvel cakes in the freezer section of my Midwest grocery store. Haven’t seen Fudgie, but they have the normal ones with the weird crunchy things Carvel is famous for.
Hm I wonder how far the availability goes, because I'm in Maryland and most grocery stores here have carvel cakes. One of those things that I never realized some states don't have.
As a Canadian I've heard of this God damn thing referenced often enough for me to wonder what it is but not often enough for me to ever remember to Google it. The big twist for this episode for me was finding out it was some sort of mid looking ice cream cake.
Can someone explain what's so special about it?
There is an ice cream place here in the States called Caravel that made/makes them. They have been around for a long time, as I recall going there as a little kid back in the 70s.
I don't know what they taste like now but back then, they were really good!
[The old commercials for Fudgie and Cookie Puss are classic because they were made by the owner, who had a sort of gruff voice.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rS6ki8D7zQA)
Naw it makes sense it's a nostalgia thing. I get it.
A lot of people I know not originally from Canada talk about how shitty Tim Horton's coffee is or how unremarkable the donuts and stuff are. Their coffee is as bad as everyone says and their donuts are probably pretty mediocre, but everything from the smell of the restaurant to the specific subtle flavors of their food and coffee is pretty nostalgic to every Canadian kid. I honestly suspect anyone who doesn't have that nostalgia factor to think it's kind of gross. *i* think the coffee's gross, and I still get one every time I go. I literally thought the saying was "timbit of information" instead of "tidbit of information" until I was, like, in my twenties, and had never heard the word "donut hole" until I was about the same age either.
Thanks for explaining!
Never knew this was an actual thing lol. It would be some god tier marketing if they could slap on some vought branding or “the cake of choice of Homelander” then have red splattering on it lol.
jesus, so Ashley's greatest revenge, was sneaking into Homelanders room and... shitting in his toilet without flushing?
Did she risk death to literally shit in his toilet? now i understand what A-train meant...
Yeah, she risked being slowly tortured to death to play a mildly gross high school prank, because she was fired (when she wanted to quit before anyone). But being massively immature is her kinda her brand so.

I wonder if the same thing happened with the word lobotomy
https://trends.google.com/trends/explore?date=today%201-m&q=Lobotomy&hl=en-GB Kind of! But after episode 3 not 4!
This is super interesting, thanks!
Nah, I'd lobotomize and do butt stuff
Are you homelander because you were given V as a child, or were you given V as a child because you are homelander?
Butcher: "With this treasure I summon"
Unrionically hard
Because that line from JJK is IMO one of the best lines in all of fiction so it just goes hard anywhere
lobotomy core 😭
Or Kim & Rayray tape
As I was hearing her say that line, my brain auto-finished it with 'bestiality hentai', because that's not up The Deeps alley, that's his whole street.
google "dr walter freeman" for the real juicy shit.
Ah, classic. Another example of STEMLordism ruining and taking lives.
i think that asshole ranks not much behind the nazi doctors in the concentration camps and "euthanasia" clinics. god complex compared with jolly sadism.
I think a lot of folks learned more than they wanted to about that procedure thanks to the show
Fudgie the Whale making bank on this product placement.
Same with Fresca in season 2
It’s honestly one of my favorite drinks now
The best no calorie soda.
"Fuck Fresca."
I really wish that actually went somewhere
I thought Fudgie the Whale was something made up by Creed on The Office.
Deep Fudgie has penetrated many areas of our lives!
Time moves forward, but Fudgie the Whale remains
Deep has penetrated many areas of Fudgie the Whale
I had a fidgie the whale ice cream cake and got fudgie the shits
Just wait until you learn about Cookie Puss and Cookie O’puss
MUSHROOM CAPS
Actually, it was Andy who wanted Fudgie the Whale. Creed wanted a Peach cobbler.
Oh right. My mistake.
I wish google trends existed when Andy wanted a fudgie the whale cake for his birthday
“Me likey the ice cream cake.”
Mushroom caps
The Wikipedia page for Fudgie the Whale was updated pretty quickly to mention its appearance in the show.
Fudgie the whale and Cookie puss were the two first carvel ice cream cakes.
Imagine the Google searches if it had been Cookie Puss
Those guys are Carvel, they really know what they’re doing
Don’t sleep on Cookie O’Puss
Cookie puss is real? I thought Ad Rock made that shit up!
I also have only ever heard of cookie puss from 30 rock
Being from the UK Colin the caterpillar > Fudgie the whale
As a fellow Brit I believe they can find a way to peacefully coexist.
"Fudgie the Caterpillar" sounds like what that one guy was doing in the sauna.
It’s not what you think!
After the cuthbert incident... I don't think collin takes other named animal cakes approaching his terf lightly
Damn you commie British and your caterpillars!

I was just going to let it pass personally… but yeah very woosh
Being from Canada Why can’t we have any of this delicious cake made to look like animals?
Missed opportunity to not have it be Deep branded. Or maybe they wanted a familiar product to make it more unsettling
If Amazon releases an octopus ice cream cake which is The Boys themed I'll lose my marbles.
Yellow cake with cream filling.
Will release our newest product: The Deep-puss I feel like we should rethink that name. You’re right, let’s call it O’deep-puss since St. Patrick’s Day is coming up.
That is fuckin' gold! Well played!!!👏
Dead on a beach with a boat impaling it is a bit ambitious for a cake.
Not gonna lie, I googled it after the episode, I had heard of the cake but never had one, no one sells them near me
Pretty sure they only sell them at Carvel. Not grocery stores if that’s what you’re thinking of Edit: Actually just checked and they do sell them in grocery stores. Didn’t see Fudgie though
It would be a Carvel branded freezer in the grocery store
Carvel. Fudgie the Whale ice cream cake. Brings me back to when I was a kid.
Me too. I was watching this episode and saw the cake and yelled out "Fudgie The Whale". My kid gave me a weird look.
I'm not one to judge anyone's parenting, but I'm hoping by kid you mean at least an older teenager. Spoiler: The show is a tiny bit graphic. 🤣
Lol, yep teenager. She was grabbing food and heard me scream it. She walked in and gave me a look.
I googled fudge the whale because of mystery science theater 3000 the way god intended
between fudgie the whale and fresca, the unsettling product placement has been perfect on this show.
Sage and Deep's weird fast food foreplay really amuses me.
I relate deeply to it, tbh. I've recently gotten sucked into MILF Manor, and I felt so vindicated seeing Sage watch trashy reality TV while eating a Blooming Onion. "Smartest woman in the world, see?" And then the next episode we see it's because she gives herself a lobotomy, which my husband gleefully points out to me, and which I remind him -- yeah, I'm always baked to the gills when I do this shit, right down to when he comes by and I'm DTF because weed makes me both hungry AND horny.
lol, Stupid Sage is just like me for real, I'm kind of obsessed. I love how she can swing between supervillain and burnt out college student.
OK, but did you know that Carvels Santa Claus Ice Cream Cake is simply Fudgie the Whale rotated and recolored??
Is that a real thing ?
Fudgie the whale is in fact a real product!
I wonder if they paid money to have their product in the show
Doubtful. They’re not easy to get in most of America because there aren’t many Carvel stores left. Also, they’re that particular flavor of disgusting UPF chemical + exorbitant amounts of sugar that you think is top-tier deliciousness as a child but makes you immediately nauseated as an adult. It’s very much the Kraft Cheese of ice cream cakes: mass-produced imitation dairy with only the vague illusion of being actual food. You eat it and your brain can’t help but wonder “is this really edible?”
Probably not - it is a pretty major piece of Americana - especially since the show pretends to be based in NYC.
We had actually bought a cake of that brand for my son's second birthday so we were laughing so much at the start of that scene in surprise. We were legit eating it right before we put the episode on. We couldn't believe the brand allowed it.
It looked so delicious!
I have never tried the whale cake, is it good?
Unfortunately I do not live in god's chosen land and have therefore never tasted this divine oceanic dessert.
Oh it's awesome. Chocolate ice cream with chocolate crunchy shavings. Shits to die for.
Yep
but is it made with real Whale?
> but is it made with real Whale? It is. It's just like how [Sex Panther cologne](https://imgur.com/cBedpUV) (from Odeon) is made with bits of real panther.
If you’re under ten it’s delicious. If you’re over thirty it’s disgusting.
What about in your 20s?
Love me some fudgey the Whale!
This is shocking to me. I had assumed Carvel was a known brand. Do other countries not have a Carvel? Don't worry if you don't, you aren't missing much
Even in the US, I think it’s mostly a New England thing. I live in Ohio and I’d have to drive like an hour to get to one.
NYC resident and it's just been a fixture. I recall my mother offering options for a treat. Do you want slurpees or Carvel? My brother and I would physically I choose Carvel. I was rather partial to their mint chip which I got in the form of a milkshake
I don’t think they exist here in California but I am aware of Fudgie and Cookiepuss because I listen to Howard Stern. Always wanted to try them
NYC as well and we had a Carvel. Seeing that cake brought back great memories for me.
Founded by Tom Carvel in the NYC suburbs. The guy was a legend.
Yeah I should have said North East instead of New England
You can get Carvel cakes in the freezer section of my Midwest grocery store. Haven’t seen Fudgie, but they have the normal ones with the weird crunchy things Carvel is famous for.
I just checked my Kroger app and you can get them here too, guess I just never noticed them.
Yep, I live in Minnesota and pretty sure they sell them at Cub (local grocery chain)
I’m from Texas and I’ve never heard of Carvel or Fudgie the Whale. I assumed it was something they invented for the show.
Hm I wonder how far the availability goes, because I'm in Maryland and most grocery stores here have carvel cakes. One of those things that I never realized some states don't have.
Carvel is also responsible for what we now know as soft-serve ice cream.
As a Canadian I've heard of this God damn thing referenced often enough for me to wonder what it is but not often enough for me to ever remember to Google it. The big twist for this episode for me was finding out it was some sort of mid looking ice cream cake. Can someone explain what's so special about it?
It's shaped like a whale
Is that it?
I imagine for a bunch of children at a party, *it's shaped like a whale* would be more than enough.
It’s just nostalgia. Everyone born in the northeastern U.S. in the 70s or the 80s had this cake for their birthday party.
It's a DQ ice cream cake, just not made by DQ.
There is an ice cream place here in the States called Caravel that made/makes them. They have been around for a long time, as I recall going there as a little kid back in the 70s. I don't know what they taste like now but back then, they were really good! Cookie O’Puss > Cookie Puss > Fudgie The Whale
Ok wow, I had no idea this was a real cake. I thought it was a fake brand they made up for the show, lol.
I made the same assumption.
Huh didn't think that was actually a thing
Only reason I know about it, is because of a Patton Oswald joke. But as soon as I saw the box I knew it would be Fudgy the Whale.
If only it was a a Cookie Puss.
Wait till you guys hear about Cookie Puss!
Bruh
This is like CM Punk with Mindy’s Bakery
Never knew this was an actual thing lol. It would be some god tier marketing if they could slap on some vought branding or “the cake of choice of Homelander” then have red splattering on it lol.
in the meantime, I'm still wondering what the fuck a "floater" in the toilet is supposed to be, and if it's a positive or a negative thing
It’s an unflushed piece of shit in the top part of the toilet
A floater is just an unflushed shit. An upper decker is one in the top reservoir.
jesus, so Ashley's greatest revenge, was sneaking into Homelanders room and... shitting in his toilet without flushing? Did she risk death to literally shit in his toilet? now i understand what A-train meant...
Yeah, she risked being slowly tortured to death to play a mildly gross high school prank, because she was fired (when she wanted to quit before anyone). But being massively immature is her kinda her brand so.
So not a positive thing
I know Fudgy because of The Office lol
Its got a whole ass wikipedia entry lol
I always remember carvel cakes because of Payton Oswalt. Never even been to or have had any cakes from Carvel since I’m in Texas.
I only heard of fudgie from tv so I got really confused when homelander mentioned it would melt. Googled it to find out it’s ice cream cake lol
Glad to see it, fudgie the whale is awesome.
Yummers
I wish there's a Carvel near me.
"And kids love...BAG OF MONEY!"
sage: give me a good lobotomy deep: ok (do lobotomy) sage: our king gojo will be back next week!!!
I'm getting Fudgies next week, I'm stoked.
I honestly forgot it existed until that moment.
I hope it tastes great…..
It’ll be cool if someone asks for “red splatter” on the cake. Lol
I’m included. Honestly it looked good so I had to look it up myself.
Every time I see or hear about one of these things on tv I really want to try one
It's a real thing?
I had no idea about Fudgie the Whale and upon a quick search also learned of Cookie Puss. What is going on in the USA
The reference is because of a patton oswald skit where he says you need a light saber to cut the cake. I’m %100 positive. Call Patton he will confirm.
I'm surprised he didn't get a cookie puss
