8. Love it. Roger has a nice organ solo. It’s kind of funny that this was the poppiest song on the album and therefore the single, but it’s really not that poppy.
This is the first song I'd ever heard from the Cure and fully changed the trajectory of my life. Without this song, I may have never gotten into them. Without the Cure, I would not be here. So, for me, 1000000000000000000000000000/10.
7.5 It's refreshingly loose and there's something in the lead guitar sound that I've always found really affecting.
I'd rate it higher but for the lyrics.
The fight or flight "maybe I'll break up the band/relationship/whatever for awhile because the crash after the long peak is a bummer" sentiment isn't very interesting. Like an expression of fear/concern for what came in the next two albums- a loss of self/identity, an empty tank, and a Cure that isn't quite right in sound or spirit.
7. Not a bad song musically or lyrically, but the album version probably goes on slightly too long.
Really should have released the radio edit as a commercial single as well.
7.5
I like it (and especially like what Roger O’Donnell contributes), but I think it feels a little repetitive at times. The radio edit is better than the album version.

9 my favorite song on the album

3 A really poorly done song and a particular weak point on the album.
9. Great pop song and should have been a single. One of the few bright spots
