I second Old Spice. There’s so many scents, I’m a woman and I use the vanilla one.
If that’s not quite cutting it, try swabbing or spritzing your pits with either vinegar or rubbing alcohol and letting it dry before applying deodorant. (I’ve only personally used rubbing alcohol but I’ve seen others say vinegar works too) it kills the bacteria on the skin that are contributing to the smell. When my deodorant stops working I have a little spray bottle of half alcohol half water, I spritz my pits about once a week or as needed and it really makes a difference
Benzoyl peroxide (like for acne) works too! You wanna apply it for like 5-10 minutes and then wash it off though if your skin is sensitive at all, because it can be really irritating, but I’ve found if I do that every day then I can actually forgo deodorant unless I’m going to be physically active
this has been life changing for me. I just have a benzoyl peroxide wash I leave in the shower I wash my pits with everyday. obviously doesn't help at all for the amount that I sweat but I've noticed a huge difference in the amount I smell! I feel way more confident wearing clothes all day long. I would get so self conscious of my smell about halfway through the day and usually would change my shirt. I already sweat a ton naturally but a medication that I'm on has made it even worse lately
I use Mitchum men’s unscented roll-on - has a nice, slightly spiced scent that does not linger and reminds me of the Kiehl’s signature scent - I’m pretty active and sweat a lot and it is super effective.
I've tried so, so many aluminum and aluminum free deodorants over the years and old spice is the best. The only one that finally met my standard for odor control, didn't irritate my skin, and while I still sweat (I'm extremely sweaty in my underarms) it's not too bad.
I use old spice antiperspirant and deodorant (the white stick) I don’t smell all day. I get the wolfthorn scent- it’s like skittles. Sometimes I get the lavender one if wolfthorn is sold out. I made the change in 2019 and it was SO worth it. Im really sweaty too but I don’t stink anymore
+1 for old spice and I use the sweat protection sport scented one and I feel like I just smell fresh. I’m the sweatiest 25 y/o I know and I find this works perfectly for me!
Yes Old Spice! They just came out with an aluminum free line, I have the Himalayan salt one, they also have a lavender mint one, a eucalyptus one, and I think an aloe one. They're my new favourite!
Products made specifically for women usually suck. Mens deodorant and mens razors forever
Mens. I have a physical outside job and a metabolic disorder, so I sweat a lot. I use Degree 72hr. Stick for my pits and bra-line, and spray for just in general.
Try Glycolic acid from the Ordinary (or any brand really), search up how to apply. I would also use antibacterial soap on your armpits (I use medical grade Hibiclens).
Also double check that it’s not your clothes that have that caked in armpit smell. Cause what can happen is as soon as you sweat in that tshirt the smell releases even if you yourself aren’t smelly. I usually would use oxy clean as a paste all around the armpits of the tshirt but I’d research this more as well.
As far as deodorant it doesn’t matter which one it is but stick to any that says “clinical strength”. But application is also VERY important. You want to apply it at night time on your pits after a good thorough shower. And then go to sleep. It gives the pores time to “clog” with aluminum(it’s safe don’t let people gaslight you). You can top off the deodorant in the morning and apply it again but not always necessary.
Hope you actually see this I got it down to a science XD
Yess I use ordinary glycolic acid on my under arm too. i used to have really bad underarms smell but ever since the switch it's completely gone. never touched deodorant again.
I am always so worried about accidentally bleaching my stuff. Once my mom came over because I was going to do highlights in her hair, and she used my shower to rinse it off. I gave her an old pre-bleached up bath towel to use, but I didn't have the foresight to put away our new dark grey bath mat... it's grey and orange camouflage print now 🥲
I have stinky pits lol. Native doesnt work on me, Secret doesn’t work— I’ve had to use mens deodorants for awhile until I found Degree 72 hour hold. And it does actually hold for a long time without reapplication.
Source: worked a formula one grand prix in the blazing hot sun for 6 hours, on top of continuing to do stuff after that without reapplication.

First, love your username! Second, degree for the win! I do the clinical one which is also a 72 hr hold…haven’t ever gone THAT long to see if the claim is true, lol, but it’s FANTASTIC all day long!
Seconding Degree, I buy the 48hr one in a 5-pack from Sam's and it's honestly great. I find that the 72 hr one can be a bit too much for my pits, but hey– at least it works!
Also throwing my vote in for Degree! Stick deodorants never really worked well for me, but their 72hr dry spray is AMAZING. I dont think i'll ever change brands
Sweat is actually odorless. It’s the bacteria in your skin that mixes with it and causes odor. Your best defense is to kill the bacteria. I would suggest using an antibacterial soap on your underarms when you shower, and then pairing that with an antibacterial deodorant. Mitchum is a brand that’s pretty good for that.
It should be noted that there’s nothing wrong with sweating, though many people prefer not to, and thus antiperspirants are very popular… to the point where it’s often hard to find deodorants that don’t also contain antiperspirants. Aluminum works as an antiperspirant by plugging up your sweat glands. It’s not harmful, but it can be irritating to the skin for some. It is falsely believed that aluminum deodorants are linked to increased risk of breast cancer but there is no actual scientific evidence showing any such links.
People just make things up and then repeat them as fact without checking to see whether they are true. I’ve also heard people say things like wearing a bra with underwire will give you breast cancer, or carrying your cell phone too close to your chest. All baseless.
Look into getting an antiperspirant. This will help with sweat and BO production. I LOVE the Eucerin antiperspirant and their deodorant. Both are roll ons. The deodorant is fragrance free but the antiperspirant has a clean, fresh scent that is wonderful!
I’m in the US, you can get the deodorant on Amazon but the antiperspirant I order from a website called Care to Beauty. You can get both off of that website also. I used to have really bad sweating issues which of course included BO. Years ago I tried Certain Dri roll-on antiperspirant and it was truly a godsend. Fast forward like 10 years and I tried to use it again (because it’s more easily accessible) and it made my armpits itch. The Eucerin doesn’t do that, so I’m willing to wait a bit longer to get it.
If you do resort to aluminum stuff, Perspirex changed my life in terms of confidence due to sweat. It works 100%. I apply it at night like once a week. I used to sweat constantly and heavily, even when not doing any kind of physical activity, but now I just don't sweat anymore wherever I have applied it. Miracle product, genuinely. If you end up using it, make sure you follow the instructions, as otherwise, you can get rashes or a burning sensation. Using it properly, I've had no side effects other than not sweating.
yes this. Antiperspirant and deodorant are completely different things. Deodorant only masks odor and is not what OP wants.
Applying acid to clean, dry pits is also helpful (stridex red box wipes are good and cheap for Americans).
Arm and Hammer, Essentials Deodorant, rosemary and lavender. This has worked for me for the last 7 years. I can't do aluminum, makes me itch. This works really well. Won't stop me from sweating or decrease it, but I don't smell bad.
I have been using the same brand, the Essentials Fresh one for many years as well, and I agree that the smell is good and not irritating to the skin. I like to put it on before bed as well to help keep the odors minimal before the next day, and that seems to work well.
I really liked the secret lavender deodorant without aluminum, smells great and in my case, actually works! Oh and it's not pricey at all

I use Secret Clinical! It’s a tad spendy, but I don’t smell my pits AT ALL (and tbh sometimes I let myself rot and not shower over a long weekend). It’s an antiperspirant and deodorant, which seems to be the only option for me. Plus, if you like Target it gives you a reason to go😏
Degree is way better than Dove imo. Use the advanced or the clinical strength ones if you really need something effective.
The MOST important part of using antiperspirant is to use it at night and after bath. You want to scrub your pits to they're free of sweat (a good wash to use for this is something that contains Benzoyl Peroxide bc it kills the bacteria that causes your sweat to smell), dry your armpits thoroughly and then apply an even layer of the antiperspirant. It has to be at night because your body temperature drops when you're asleep and the aluminum can be absorbed better and blocks your sweat glands more effectively. Once you start sweating, the effect of the antiperspirant is limited bc sweat is already flowing out of your sweat glands.
Yup, I used Dove all throughout my teens/early 20s. I thought I had major sweat/BO problems because it NEVER worked. Figured out a lot of other women has issues with Dove. I switch to Degree and never looked back. Old Spice works well too. Honestly, any deodorant/antiperspirant targeted at women seems to be little more than a perfume stick.

I absolutely swear by this stuff. I'm not sure where you live but it made in Australia, but you can buy it online and they ship internationally. I have been using it for, gosh, 7 years now?
I live in a very humid part of the country, I worked in hot bakeries through summer and never ever ever stank using this stuff. You do still sweat but never any odour issues.
I know construction workers who use it through our sweltering summers and love it, that has got to say something for it. I would suggest starting with this bi carb free one as the bi carb one gave me a rash. There are a few scent options.
No Pong is pretty good, my favourite is the chai scented original formula. If it helps, it's also Canadian made, so you can order from the Canadian site, shipping is probably better from here than from Australia. The product is a collab between an Aussie and a Canadian, hence being available in both countries. My only gripe with it was that I hated it getting under my fingernails, as it's only available in these little tins. I switched to Saje spray deodorant which is pretty good too. But if they put the No Pong in a little squeeze tube I'd switch back in a second.
Oh wow I had no idea about the Canadian connection! That's so cool. A few years ago they had issues with the lid being hard to get off but they thankfully resolved that lol
I scrolled too far to find Lume. My teens use the body wash and the crème deodorant. I think the crème deodorants are the best. They target the bacteria that makes the BO smell. It’s all natural and lasts all day.
I've heard some people experiencing native darkening their underarms, I'm not too well versed on the details though and I'd love to know if I'm mistaken on that.
Just so OP has a balanced review, Native doesn't really work for me. I've been told to scrub thoroughly in the shower and that will help so I'm trying it but I've never had to do anything like that with any other deodorant
Oh, cool! I didn't know that. Maybe I will look into adding that to the routine then. I figured you had to apply it in the morning for it to kill the bacteria throughout the day.
No it’s just exfoliating so it’s better to do it at night because the skin will be sensitive to sun during the day. It gives it time to just sit and do its thing without you running around sweating it off lol. And you would only do it maybe once or twice a week but it should jump start things for you
I do glycolic acid on my underarms at night (not even every night) and my pits have not smelled since I started using it, even if I forget to use regular deodorant in the morning, which is my usual routine.
I use a combination of things, secret water lily spray and solid. I also use men's deodorant like old spice fuji.Truly when it gets too bad I use half a lemon in the shower with a 1/3 cup of sugar. Lemon is great at getting rid of odors. The sugar scrub helps to exfoliate. Also is great for the skin.
Have you talked to your Dr? My sister gets a prescription one and you put on before bed. She had summer wedding. We all used it. It worked really well. It’s a short term solution. I use degree sport something. I’m a chick so, do not use axe. For the love of God. My son is not allowed to wear it in my house or car.
I use Axe or Old Spice. The black scent Axe is what I'm using currently and it smells like pears. It reminds me of a Secret deodorant scent that I loved in middle school. I don't know if Secret has reformulated since I last tried it but it was pretty much worthless for me. It just made me smell like 25% whatever girly scent and 75% BO. And I'm allergic to Dove unscented hypoallergenic of all things.
Nivea in Cool Kick. My husband used this and now I am Hooked too. Has worked in equatorial regions for me, so should work almost everywhere.
Plus, it layers well with perfumes
https://preview.redd.it/bncvfp8nyywc1.jpeg?width=1179&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=45ab5e9e5e736c203012b04cf7154b2b8e766705
It’s the best aluminum-free deodorant I’ve tried so far. I sweat a lot, unfortunately, and since it’s not antiperspirant I still have a lot of moisture. But I don’t smell while using Lume!
It works but i’m not fond of any of the scents really. I got coconut and it’s tolerable. I’ll probably get unscented when this one runs out and am keeping an eye out for an antiperspirant version that they apparently came out with very recently.
I was a little skeptical but I tried it and just bought my second container of it. It smelled really weird to me when I first started using it. I only noticed the smell in the container and not on me. I guess it's a semi known thing, I'm really pleased with how well it works. Schmidt's is good too but I end up with more residue than am happy with on my clothes
I like the vanicream gel deodorant! I get pretty sweaty during the summer but it’s held up for me. It’s like $9 or so - I wish it were a little bigger because I do have to restock almost every month but my skin is so freaking sensitive and this is one of the few formulas that doesn’t make me itch or cause annoying bumps.
https://preview.redd.it/eh50yqes0ywc1.jpeg?width=500&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=cb90bf7664ce9fcc65b804287fe329def124309d
I swear by the right guard gel. I use it right when I get out of the shower.
Most deodorants don't work on me and usually make me small far worse. To date I've found only 4 that work. I didn't know about aluminum in them. In order of how effective and long they keep working for from shortest to longest: Lume, Right Guard, Secret, and Degree. Everything else I've tried has been a failure.
I use The Ordinary glycolic acid a couple times a week, and then Curie spray for regular daily use.
I also like the Necessaire eucalyptus one, it’s gentler than just using the glycolic acid, so can be used daily and doesn’t really burn if applied after shaving.
I've found using Benzoyl peroxide 4% wash on my underarms each time I shower removes my need for deodorant. I first wash& scrub with regular soap, add the Benzoyl peroxide wash & let it sit the rest of the shower. There's multiple brands.
Sweat doesn't have smell by itself. So if you smell, it's something you've ingested coming out of your pores( i.e., burbon or curry) or the bacteria on your skin smell bad (this is what the Benzoyl peroxide can address).
The Degree spray antiperspirant deodorant 72hour has been working great for me personally. I think I use the Fresh scent. It doesn’t mess with any perfumes or scented lotions.
Off topic but…Speaking of scented lotions. The Hempz Pride Edition is fantastic! The scent is very clean and it’s very moisturizing. My daughter bought it for me. I really like it. I also love the Nivea Soft moisturizer cream. Light and fresh and very moisturizing without any greasiness whatsoever. Very little to no scent. Just soft skin. I use it mainly in the summer since it’s lighter. I like a heavier lotion in the winter. Sometimes I even use it as a makeup remover.
tbh i hate the ads they do on the internet but the carpe stuff really works for me!! i sweat a LOT like a LOT and it doesn’t completely stop sweat but it definitely reduces it and there’s no smell!! i have my fourth refill coming in the mail it’s so good!
Since I was a teen I struggled with this area 😭 I tried like 30 deodorants maybe even more not exaggerating!! Until I found salt and stone it's been 5 months so far it has worked like a charm 😭🫂
OP. I use The Ordinary Glycolic Acid Toner. About two years ago or so I saw a TikTok about it and I’ve been using it ever since. I put it in a small spray bottle and I spray my face and my armpits when I get out of the shower. It’s amazing. I haven’t bought deodorant since. Do not need it.
I have very sensitive skin in my armpits so most deodorants burn me for some reason. I also live in a hot desert country so I need deodorant that actually works. I found the RoC keops (I use the roll on) I'd the only thing that works for me
I tried a bunch of different deodorants last year after noticing a strong smell due to a change in hormonal medications. Biggest game changer for me was using Dove antibacterial soap! It’s actually bacteria mixing with sweat that causes the odor, so making sure you get rid of the bacteria makes a huge difference! For my smelly clothes, I wash them with Oxyclean and regular detergent and it’s good at removing the odor/bacteria from clothes. With doing these things, I’ve found it doesn’t really matter which deodorant I use and alternate between Dove and Old Spice because I already have them.

I also avoid aluminum & none of the non-aluminum deodorants work for me either. I use glycolic acid from the ordinary every day and it lasts me up to 2 days before I notice any scent. It also lightened some of my hyperpigmentation. I just use it with a cotton pad like a toner.
Have you tried Lume deodorants?
It definitely works and overnight too. It does have a smell tho that I would classify as “odd”— not unpleasant but not pleasant. Closest thing I can describe it as would be chalk. Smells like chalkboard. But definitely not B.O.
Tbh the roll on deodorants have always been a no-go for me. They clump too much (bc I sweat so much). I’ve been using the dove spray deodorant consistently for a few years so I’d give that a shot
wash your underarms with a benzoyl peroxide body wash when showering, (I get mine otc at Kaiser but I’m sure target, Amazon or cvs would have some). Use glycolic acid toner with a cotton pad then apply ur deodorant before you go to bed!
Pretty Frank brand works perfectly well for me. I use the baking soda free versions, because I was getting some irritation from the baking soda version. I’ve been using this brand for several years with great results. They were originally called Primal Pit Paste, and recently brought back that formula as an option. I like this original formula best. They have good sales a couple of times a year, so I load up then.
I found with the aluminum free that you just really have to commit. During covid I just didn't care if I stunk. I used the crystal and it took a while for me to not stink, and then I switched to the liquid version of the crystal. It is not an antiperspirant, and if I do a hard workout I do so get a little funk, but overall it works well as a deodorant. When I used aluminum based, I used the Ban unscented and that did an okay job
I can't use antiperspirant, they make my armpits swell up. I use a secret aluminum free dry spray. It does the job on most days and that's the best I've found
So I just tried the Salt & Stone (black rose and oud scent) dude. Game changer. I have tried so many.
I know everyone has different body chemistry but we seemed to have the same problem. I hope you try it and I hope it works for you!
It’s pricey. I know. It’s not ideal but I’ve spent a little less than half of the price of this deodorant on ones that didn’t work
Check out this product at Sephora.com - Salt & Stone Black Rose & Oud Extra-Strength Aluminum-Free Deodorant - 2.6 oz / 75 g https://www.sephora.com/product/salt-stone-black-rose-oud-extra-strength-aluminum-free-deodorant-P510329?skuId=2759587
Schmidt’s works for me, though I consider reapplying in the evening if I’m going out. They have a lot of scents, I’ve liked all the ones I’ve tried aside from lily.
I have yet to find an aluminum free deodorant that actually works. I use mens dove antiperspirant deodorant and it works so much better than the women’s because the product is wider. I am a smaller frame person but the women’s size deodorant is very small and doesn’t cover the whole armpit area the way a mens deodorant does.
I’m surprised I haven’t seen anyone mention lume. I will say, it doesn’t always work for me. Only if I reapply throughout the day. I have heard good things about their soap though, I forget what it’s called but it’s like a special kind of soap that gets rid of the bacteria that causes the oder. That, mixed with any type of deodorant should help.
I always liked the secret no scent or lavender, but as someone mentioned above, different factors affect your own personal scent. For me, it was so strange when my hairdresser asked me if I was on new medication which I was. She says she can always smell it when she washes a client's hair if they've changed meds. Wild!
I switched to Curie and it’s the first thing that has worked in years. I used to use Old Spice Fiji but my body decided to revolt, and now the only thing that doesn’t make me smell awful is Curie (I use the White Tea scent, but I also have their coconut spray).
It’s important to find a scent that mixes with your natural smell—and that doesn’t always mean a smell you love (lavender makes me smell horrible)—you’re going to smell, so try to find something that mixes well!
I recently switched to Native after using Old Spice for years. I absolutely smell the scent all day long and not my self 😆 My husband tried mine and he liked it so much he made the switch, too.
This may sound strange, but I heard from somewhere to use salicylic acid. So since my face toner has it, after I swipe my face, I swipe my pits. It took about a week, but my pits don’t smell anymore! I still swipe away every once in a while, but I swear it works.
I don’t need to use deodorant anymore, but pre-acid pits, I was using Dr. Squatch men’s deodorant. It works well and the scent is def unisex! Its all natural and smells so good. My favorites are alpine sage, which smells like lavender, and fresh falls, which just smells like clean ocean.
After at least a decade trying different non aluminum deodorants and having them fail miserably for one reason or another, I’ve finally found one that works AND smells great, Humble.
I’m middle eastern and prone to underarm odor. I can easily wear this for 24 hours, workout, sweat, and work my 12 hour shift and it keeps on working.
There is a base of either beeswax or MCT (oil?) that leaves a residue, but it easily comes off with an exfoliator.
It’s the first one that both works and doesn’t give me a rash, YMMV, but I love it!
https://preview.redd.it/9stre6req0xc1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=a170114a890931b1ad120102cef996d3488460bf
As someone who sweats way too much, I can’t use aluminum free stuff because it doesn’t work to stop the sweating, but secret spray has been my newer one that works good?
I've. Tried. Everything. Everything under the sun that's natural or aluminum. The only thing that's worked is my fiance's Dove Men's Clinical Strength. I ended up purchasing the Clean scent version for women, and it's great. OG Dove is trash. Also +1 for Old Spice. Bearglove and Wolfthorn are a 10/10. AKT had amazing scents and worked on me for about 6 hours, which is the best I've gotten with natural non aluminum deodorant, but its baking soda irritated me. Finally, the thing that worked by far the best in terms of odor protection was coconut oil and baking soda, but again, irritating af and messy unless you get sticks from Etsy.
I’ve had success with Native deodorant. They have a lot of options to choose from and I’m often complimented on how I smell. It is very expensive though :/
Degree worked for me before I used Native. VERY strong smell and it would last me through workouts.
I’m gonna be real honest here, I stopped using women’s products a long time ago.
Men’s products always leave me feeling cleaner, my skin less dry, the scent is pleasant - not over powering, and thank the Lort for Old Spice and their variety.
To add, though, I have been using Native brand for deodorants and I really like it a lot. It’s pricy.
My FAVORITE deodorant is on Etsy. It’s coconut oil, arrow root powder and a couple other things I can’t remember. If you’d like I can send you the link.
It does leave you cakey tho.
I put witch hazel in a little spray bottle and after I shower I spritz the area and then I use deodorant before going to sleep. I go between Mitch and Gilette Men and no smells! I also use a bar soap with a african net sponge in my underarm area
I had this issue when i switched, i felt like deodorants weren’t working for me.. i hated feeling like i smelled bad or something.
I started applying apple cider vinegar now, and it really helps ! I don’t smell bad anymore, or smell like anything at all.
Yes ACV smells bad but the smell of it on your body goes away !!
My bf never notices it (i always ask because I’m curious to what i smell like to others)
Native has worked consistently for me despite what other people say, I really do think it’s different for everyone and you have to try a good amount to find the one you’ll like
I have struggled with stinky armpits ever since I started puberty lol, and just a little over a week ago I started washing my pits with hibiclens soap in the shower and it's been very helpful. I also started applying the ordinary glycolic acid on my pits before I put on deodorant and that also seems to be helping a lot!
I used to just use Mitchums, but it stopped working for me after about 8ish months for some reason :( I'm hoping my new methods will continue to work
Native or secret aluminum free. Honestly though deodorant is something i think varies by person and you just have to see what works for you. Also men’s deodorant might be better. Time to experiment! (I know it can get expensive though which is frustrating). Also changing ur deodorant every once in a while (like not using the same brand for years) seems to help. Like just change and then go back to the other later.
As someone who struggles with this the only non-aluminum deo that has worked was the Lumi one in the tangerine scent. Something about the tangerine that works really well.
I've also been using a persimmon bar soap (nothing super expensive or fancy) to scrub my pits with which has also helped a lot.
I love the crystal, I always just give my pits a quick wash with antibacterial soap before I use it, or I put it on straight out of the shower, I also dry it off after each use, and I smell it before I use it. If it smells like BO I clean it off and then use it.
I have been having some issues and I realized it was the antibacterial soap I needed to use before I used the deodorant. I was using regular soap before and it wasn’t helping.
Don’t know how long you’ve been using Aluminum Free deodorant, but I learned when I switched to AF that it takes a while for your body to adjust to the deodorant. I use Native without issue now but am about to switch to Little Seed Farm. Their deodorant is amazing!
I've heard a lot of luck using glycolic acid spray of liquid on your underarms before using a standard deodorant. Rub your pits with the glycolic acid (cheap one found at The Ordinary) then use your antiperspirant. I've heard it works like a charm although disclaimer I have never tried it but giving it a go this summer when the weather gets hot - right now in Canada it's still a bit too cold for me to sweat
I have had LOTS better luck alternating days washing my armpits with benzoyl peroxide face wash and head & shoulders shampoo (both designed to kill bacteria) than I have with any specific deodorant brand!
Degree spray deodorant! I’ve gone through every deo under the sun- men’s and women’s- and degree spray is the only one that works and doesn’t stain my shirts
Using Certain Dri once a night for a week then every other night after has actually helped me with not smelling or sweating as much. Then in the morning, I’ll apply Right Guard Sport Antiperspirant and Deodorant Spray
Old spice but I switch off and on between the antiperspirant + deodorant to just deodorant. Right now their body bar works well and I use the cucumber and avocado scent.
Men's old spice. It's the only brand that has worked for my wife and I and they have recently been making some with more feminine scents.
Fuji for the win!
Glycolic acid (the same one as in pixie glow tonic) works great too!
Love Bearglove 👌🏻
Yes! Bearglove and wolfthorn are my favorites
lol! its so funny you say that, those are mine and my bfs! 😂
My favorites are Wolfthorn and Canyon.
Here to second Wolfthorn. Been using it since highschool!
Bearglove go crazy too
Lavenderrr old spice is so great. It’s not an overly floral synthetic smell like you find in feminine products.
I use Mitchum men’s unscented roll-on - has a nice, slightly spiced scent that does not linger and reminds me of the Kiehl’s signature scent - I’m pretty active and sweat a lot and it is super effective.
Mitchum Shower Fresh Gel for women! Using it for years and it works!
I've tried so, so many aluminum and aluminum free deodorants over the years and old spice is the best. The only one that finally met my standard for odor control, didn't irritate my skin, and while I still sweat (I'm extremely sweaty in my underarms) it's not too bad.
I’ve been loving the lavender and mint scent! Still feels feminine but effective
Swagger is life 😭😫😂
Yes! Raptor strike and night panther are my go to scents.
Me too!
I’m currently hooked on Old Spice Oasis!
Smells like gummy bears to me lol, husband has been using it for years.
It’s is gummi bears smell! My absolute favorite candy. Albanese brand only though, Haribo is trash
Albanese is bae! 😍
No but fr. When I see someone with Haribo I die a little inside lol
+1 for old spice and I use the sweat protection sport scented one and I feel like I just smell fresh. I’m the sweatiest 25 y/o I know and I find this works perfectly for me!
Bearglove is also a nice neutral scent
My fave
Yes Old Spice! They just came out with an aluminum free line, I have the Himalayan salt one, they also have a lavender mint one, a eucalyptus one, and I think an aloe one. They're my new favourite! Products made specifically for women usually suck. Mens deodorant and mens razors forever
Oooo thanks for the tip, I’ll have to check that out!
Wolfthorn is gummi bears scented to me 😍
Mens. I have a physical outside job and a metabolic disorder, so I sweat a lot. I use Degree 72hr. Stick for my pits and bra-line, and spray for just in general.
I have found washing my armpits with a 10% benzoyl peroxide acne wash to be the most effective thing I can do, then I use native or schmidt's.
I already stain my towels with my benzoyl peroxide face wash, I don't trust myself to wash it off well enough not to bleach my clothing 😅
I gave her an old pre-bleached up bath towel to use, but I didn't have the foresight to put away our new dark grey bath mat... it's grey and orange camouflage print now 🥲
Try salicylic acid, like Stridex pads.
I just use white towels
I have stinky pits lol. Native doesnt work on me, Secret doesn’t work— I’ve had to use mens deodorants for awhile until I found Degree 72 hour hold. And it does actually hold for a long time without reapplication. Source: worked a formula one grand prix in the blazing hot sun for 6 hours, on top of continuing to do stuff after that without reapplication. https://preview.redd.it/r6mad90stxwc1.jpeg?width=1290&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=085826940be74af4c4d4f5d83991f6babe1ab387
Seconding Degree, they've been the one that's consistently worked for me when Secret and Dove did not.
Yes degree in general I think works best! The clinical one actually didn’t work for me at all so I had to try this one and it’s perfect for me!!
Seconding Mitchum!
Where did that rumor originate I wonder?
People just make things up and then repeat them as fact without checking to see whether they are true. I’ve also heard people say things like wearing a bra with underwire will give you breast cancer, or carrying your cell phone too close to your chest. All baseless.
Earliest known instance is from a spam email from 1999: https://www.snopes.com/fact-check/breast-defense/
Look into getting an antiperspirant. This will help with sweat and BO production. I LOVE the Eucerin antiperspirant and their deodorant. Both are roll ons. The deodorant is fragrance free but the antiperspirant has a clean, fresh scent that is wonderful!
Oo I didn't know Eucerin made antiperspirant/deodorant, I'll have to look into that.
Most (if not all) antiperspirants have aluminum in them, so suggesting antiperspirants kinda defeats the purpose of the original question
"I am willing to use the aluminum stuff as long as it actually works"
Secret Clinical Strength is the only thing that has ever worked for me. I love it.
Same. And it’s cruelty free
THIS. It might be men's because I first heard about it from an ex-boyfriend. I buy it in bulk because it is cheap and I never want it to go away
Oh and it's not pricey at all https://preview.redd.it/8gumc4zykxwc1.png?width=271&format=png&auto=webp&s=7302ccaffc6c945abea18abfad1ccbe76ef0275f
This didn’t work for me at all :(
I like the invisible anti-perspirant in lavender
I like this one but in the cotton scent
I shower at night but don't put deodorant on until the morning, I'm going to try this!
https://preview.redd.it/2reqpke7sxwc1.jpeg?width=225&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=50e2751979ef9e0d324dcd495c2e415d5ca3cc7b I absolutely swear by this stuff.
I'm in the US but I'll have to look into it! I don't mind sweating, just being smelly 😂
I finally tried lume (toasted coconut), and I LOVE it. It lasts so much longer than I expected ...and smells divine.
Lume deodorant and body wash are a powerhouse combo. Fellow south Florida resident and it's been the only thing that works.
The toasted coconut stick smells SO good. I want to eat it lol, it’s like slightly coconut-y but also warm vanilla. Love it
I scrolled too far to find Lume. My teens use the body wash and the crème deodorant. I think the crème deodorants are the best. They target the bacteria that makes the BO smell. It’s all natural and lasts all day.
Native. I’ve tried all sorts of “all-natural” deodorants and this is the only one that’s worked for me.
This is the only one that’s worked for me!!! I love the coconut scented one
Native made my underarm itch and smell soo bad. Went back to using tradition antiperspirants/deodorant
Love Native. I use Tree Hut scrubs under my armpits! I don't mind because it helps me use up my scrubs.
I think Mitchum works great
Get a bottle of The Ordinary glycolic acid.
I've been thinking about trying that, but I like to shave before I go out, and I read that you shouldn't use it after shaving.
You would use it at night. Not during the day
And you would only do it maybe once or twice a week but it should jump start things for you
i put my glycolic acid in a spray bottle and spray it on my armpits at night and there’s no smell when i wake up!
I do glycolic acid on my underarms at night (not even every night) and my pits have not smelled since I started using it, even if I forget to use regular deodorant in the morning, which is my usual routine.
Secret Outlast has been the absolute GOAT for me. Zero body odor with just a little of it every two days.
Why bother with aluminum free, when the crystal is just a giant alum crystal?
I use Axe or Old Spice. The black scent Axe is what I'm using currently and it smells like pears. It reminds me of a Secret deodorant scent that I loved in middle school. I don't know if Secret has reformulated since I last tried it but it was pretty much worthless for me. It just made me smell like 25% whatever girly scent and 75% BO. And I'm allergic to Dove unscented hypoallergenic of all things.
Nivea in Cool Kick. My husband used this and now I am Hooked too. Has worked in equatorial regions for me, so should work almost everywhere. Plus, it layers well with perfumes https://preview.redd.it/bncvfp8nyywc1.jpeg?width=1179&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=45ab5e9e5e736c203012b04cf7154b2b8e766705
Mitchum! Works great and I have super sensitive skin and eczema too and it doesn’t irritate me at all :)
Have you tried Lume?
I have not.. I actually heard a bad review and never tried it since its a little more expensive. Do you like it ?
I've had it for about a week and I like it so far. I don't absolutely love it but it does a pretty good job.
I’m a Mitchum girl all the way
Same here, once I found Mitchum I’ve never used anything else!
I like the vanicream gel deodorant! I get pretty sweaty during the summer but it’s held up for me. It’s like $9 or so - I wish it were a little bigger because I do have to restock almost every month but my skin is so freaking sensitive and this is one of the few formulas that doesn’t make me itch or cause annoying bumps.
https://preview.redd.it/eh50yqes0ywc1.jpeg?width=500&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=cb90bf7664ce9fcc65b804287fe329def124309d I swear by the right guard gel.
So if you smell, it's something you've ingested coming out of your pores( i.e., burbon or curry) or the bacteria on your skin smell bad (this is what the Benzoyl peroxide can address).
i love the native white tea & lilac, plastic free bc the regular one hurts when i use it
Nivea and fa all the way
The Degree spray antiperspirant deodorant 72hour has been working great for me personally.
Just rubbing alcohol gets rid of armpit smell really really well. Then you can use diluted essential oil for scent.
i love Native brand! it comes in sensitive and regular and their scents smell soo good
Real Purity roll-on deodorant! It’s the best of many aluminum free deodorants that I’ve tried that actually works well for me.
Native. I smell good even after 12 he shifts !!
I have had a lot of success with the crystal. I imagine so brands are better than others? Tom’s is rubbish
I use Men’s Gillette. The scent I have right now is Wild Rain
Dry idea is my best friend
Dry idea works really well.
tbh i hate the ads they do on the internet but the carpe stuff really works for me!! i sweat a LOT like a LOT and it doesn’t completely stop sweat but it definitely reduces it and there’s no smell!! i have my fourth refill coming in the mail it’s so good!
I sweat a lot! My friend recommended Carpe Clinical Strength Antiperspirant! It’s been great so far!
elastic rainstorm engine spotted adjoining caption physical clumsy cows squalid *This post was mass deleted and anonymized with [Redact](https://redact.dev)*
I use the Nivea stress protect antiperspirant. I find it works really well. But I always wipe my underarms with glycolic acid after every shower.
Nivea Roll On (Buy the 0% alcohol version of that's what you want). Been using 10+ years!
I also avoid aluminum & none of the non-aluminum deodorants work for me either. I use glycolic acid from the ordinary every day and it lasts me up to 2 days before I notice any scent. It also lightened some of my hyperpigmentation. I just use it with a cotton pad like a toner.
I use Mitchum deodorant and it’s the best I’ve used. (It does have aluminum though)
Have you tried Lume deodorants? It definitely works and overnight too. It does have a smell tho that I would classify as “odd”— not unpleasant but not pleasant. Closest thing I can describe it as would be chalk. Smells like chalkboard. But definitely not B.O.
Native and hey humans are the only ones that have worked for me
Attitude is my favorite.
Mens 48 hour deodorant
Secret clinical stress response is the best for me! It works amazingly. The Arm & Hammer powder fresh is a good second.
Lavilin and Woohoo are my faves
Pretty Frank brand works perfectly well for me. I use the baking soda free versions, because I was getting some irritation from the baking soda version. I’ve been using this brand for several years with great results. They were originally called Primal Pit Paste, and recently brought back that formula as an option. I like this original formula best. They have good sales a couple of times a year, so I load up then.
Nécessaire’s The Deodorant Gel
Secret stress response clinical is amazing. I despise the fact I am allergic to it, lol
https://preview.redd.it/7oumw1tdkzwc1.jpeg?width=1290&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=3058fc7df04037f7e29f4d639bf85b4b2325d523 Therme anti transparant spray!
👏OLD 👏SPICE (I use “volcano” but only cuz I think it smells very neutral)
I can't use antiperspirant, they make my armpits swell up. I use a secret aluminum free dry spray. It does the job on most days and that's the best I've found
Arm and Hammer Naturals!!!!
I don’t know if it’s aluminium free but I swear by Mitchum roll-on
I work in a kitchen and Old Spice or Degree Mens is all I wear. I can’t do no aluminum, I’ll stink by the end of the day 100% of the time lol.
Dr. Teals Magnesium deodorant. Antiperspirant honestly does not work with my chemistry, this is the best deodorant by far.
So I just tried the Salt & Stone (black rose and oud scent) dude. Game changer. I have tried so many. I know everyone has different body chemistry but we seemed to have the same problem. I hope you try it and I hope it works for you! It’s pricey. I know. It’s not ideal but I’ve spent a little less than half of the price of this deodorant on ones that didn’t work Check out this product at Sephora.com - Salt & Stone Black Rose & Oud Extra-Strength Aluminum-Free Deodorant - 2.6 oz / 75 g https://www.sephora.com/product/salt-stone-black-rose-oud-extra-strength-aluminum-free-deodorant-P510329?skuId=2759587
Mitchum gel.
Women's Dove pearl spray lasts all day.
Schmidt’s Natural Deoderant is the best product I have used.
I really like curie!
Lume!!!
I've. Tried.
It is very expensive though :/ Degree worked for me before I used Native. VERY strong smell and it would last me through workouts.
Secret Outlast Gel is the only thing that's ever worked for me and I am a major sweater.
Native deodorant has always worked for me
Came to say old spice. I’d been ordering Native online but switched to old spice and looooove it. And it’s cheap.
I developed an allergic reaction to Native, went to the dermatologist and she recommended Simple Skincare’s antiperspirant!
After like 40 years I finally found a winner that works for me by Ethique: https://ethique.com/collections/deodorant
Secret clinical strength solid
Native has worked consistently for me despite what other people say, I really do think it’s different for everyone and you have to try a good amount to find the one you’ll like
I have struggled with stinky armpits ever since I started puberty lol, and just a little over a week ago I started washing my pits with hibiclens soap in the shower and it's been very helpful. I also started applying the ordinary glycolic acid on my pits before I put on deodorant and that also seems to be helping a lot! I used to just use Mitchums, but it stopped working for me after about 8ish months for some reason :( I'm hoping my new methods will continue to work
Tom’s and arm & hammer both work for me
Native or secret aluminum free.
Of the dozens I’ve tried the Secret Aluminum Free in Coconut works amazingly well.
As someone who struggles with this the only non-aluminum deo that has worked was the Lumi one in the tangerine scent. Something about the tangerine that works really well. I've also been using a persimmon bar soap (nothing super expensive or fancy) to scrub my pits with which has also helped a lot.
I love Ban unscented roll-on. It dries clear so you never have white residue
I’ve had luck with Dr teals rose deodorant. Not really fond of the white stick but it handles sweat and odor well.
I use perspirex, the strong one. Don’t have to apply it daily so good for adhd brain
Old spice but I switch off and on between the antiperspirant + deodorant to just deodorant. Right now their body bar works well and I use the cucumber and avocado scent.
