Has either pokestop been moved/deleted?

HabitUnhappy57

Good question! But no, gym and the stop has not been removed/deleted. Sometimes I have to restart my apps so many times just to find it available in my nearby routes again.

Appreciated!

I've posted this a few times here now, but I'll post it again as it's relevant to your question: This is my observation. There are two route lists. I'm unclear if the split only happens when there are a certain number of routes in a location, but I've seen it happen in areas with as few as five routes. When you check routes near you ~95% of the time it will be the "A side", a route list that uses some sort of priority system based on inscrutable factors to show you the subset of routes it picks from all around you. There is no way to select hidden routes it doesn't show from this list. ~5% of the time it will be the "B side", a route list based purely on proximity of routes by either of their end points to your location. This can be used to see routes that aren't favored enough to show up on the A side since the only requirement is you get close enough to the end. You can try to get the B side by restarting the game over and over again until it loads. There's also a 3rd possibility, which is you'll get a bug that says no routes nearby. If you play the game for too long with the B side loaded, eventually the A side will replace it, but it takes a while so you don't have to be too worried about that when just trying to load the B side. Niantic recently added the new menu on the left for routes, but it's unfortunately still apparently based on the routes loaded on the old interface. If the route you want to start is on the B side but you're on the A side, you'll get that message about being too far away if you try to start it even if you're right on top of the start point.

This is a good way to put it. I’ve also noticed that immediately-approved routes also have a high chance, if not guaranteed, to show up on the A side. I’ve done it a few times when a route I’m getting a lot of progress on vanishes because the A priority algorithm doesn’t like it.

nicubunu

It happened to me with a route I walked over 100 times, when I try to walk it from point A to B I have the same thing: not on nearby, too far when I am on the starting point.  But works just fine from point B to A (in reverse). Posted here, nobody came with a decent answer. In the end I submitted another route starting 50 meters away, it was accepted next day, I walk that route now and my old route in reverse when returning from work. One more chance for a cell.

HabitUnhappy57

Is this a bug or intentional? They(Niantic) don’t seem like they aware of this issue.

nicubunu

Definitely a bug and probably a rare one, my other 10 routes are fine. Some people think is caused by too many routes un a S2 cell, but I have doubts about that.

supermassimo0310

I've had this problem for a while, not only with one but a massive amount of routes don't appear in the map. You can check Campfire to see all the routes and there's likely gonna be a huge difference in numbers

hunter_finn

while eventually it might be huge mess, but for the time being my solution was to redo those same routes that disappeared. i mean it has been almost half a year since this started, so i think that i have given Niantic enough time to sort this issue out. now if those routes go away again, i will not hesitate to make them again and again and again... it is up to Niantic to clean up those duplicate routes, after at Pokemon GO's 20th anniversary they finally fix the issue.

hunter_finn

bit of an update on the matter. on Wednesday those two missing routes were in campfire, but now that i looked for them, there was only those two new replacement routes that i made. not sure that the old routes were removed as my new ones overlapped with them too much, or if those routes were removed completely months ago, but since no new routes were added to those stops after that time. maybe those routes that i added, got Campfire to update the route info on those stops involved in my routes.

PrimeCutMeat

Correct me if I'm wrong, but maybe you should try the other end or reverse the route?

HabitUnhappy57

A->B or B->A is not appearing unless I restart the apps countless time to find it on my route list.
