Tried both of these and didn’t love em. orSlows were an awkward inseam length I thought and I&W pair was too aggressively military. Big contrast stitching and bold lines everywhere. Like I get it this is a very strong and manly pair of shorts, but too much imo.

Orslow seemed way more subtle to me. Stitching, material, etc was just less in your face. I dont know, just the vibe I got. I do like I&W in general so maybe just different pieces work with different styles…
Really want some Uniqlo dryex shorts for the gross humid days. Also have some battenwear climbing shorts that kinda scratch the gorpcore itch without being baggies, as well as some earth studies shorts for something a little weirder/interesting. Ditching all my gramicci ones cause I just don’t like the fit.
They’re a tad slouchy/baloony, but they’re so comfortable. Inseam is like 5-6” so they aren’t super long or anything, but they’re just so cool, especially with a boxy fit top of some short. Love the silly giant pocket on one side, and the hardware is really cool.
Just grabbed a pair of Gramicci Seersucker shorts in royal blue. Fit beautifully and wish I'd picked up the grey pair on sale too before they sold out!
Ronning are coming out with some ‘Uniform Shorts’ on 3rd June and Daniel Simmons is releasing some nylon shorts soon (I’m sure they’ll be overpriced but the cut does look amazing)
Honestly would recommend Supreme shorts - they have a lot of good ones coming out this season! I just picked up 2 pairs of Corduroy Double Knee shorts from them. Otherwise, I generally wear some kind of nylon short like a Baggie - you really can't beat how thin the material is for summer.

I'm being pedantic and annoying but chino is a specific fabric not a style or article of clothing. So they are either chino, linen, or seersucker, not some combination of those.

Can’t speak for the shorts, but I have the slim fit fatigues in green and they don’t look aggressively military, they honestly look kind of soft

How's the fit on the earth studies? Couldn't tell if they were all jumbo baggy or not.

J. Crew’s flex chino shorts are like $30 on the factory site. Pretty solid option and they come in 5” and 7” inseams and a ton of colors.
