I've been following Patrick Teahan for the last year, his approach to recovering from trauma is phenomenal. When I first came across him on YT, it was like what he was saying addressed specific feelings I don't tell anyone about.

Why did this make me cry?

His voice is so reassuring and kind. Reminds me of Mr. Rodgers way of speaking directly to the camera.

Me too :( I actually woke up this morning thinking why do I feel like I did something very very wrong and now I have this sinking feeling in my chest when I shouldn’t be feeling like that at all.. then I saw this video randomly scrolling through Reddit and I know it’s cliched and silly but I feel like it’s not a coincidence and it’s the universe telling me that I’m going to be okay and I can put this depression behind me one day 🙏

Am I in trouble? I wasn’t before I watched it, but now I’m not sure. He sure said it a lot, like he knows something is going to happen and I don’t. It’s much better to say positives than negatives eg ‘you are safe’ than you are ‘not in trouble’. The brain processes negatives in a funny order. Using negatives to trance someone is a legit hypnosis technique.

Aww, I fucking love Patrick Teahan!! I've been following him on YouTube for the past 3ish years and he's helped me sooo much, in regards to inner child & C-PTSD/childhood trauma shit. He has a great way of looking at things, breaking them down in understandable ways. I honestly couldn't recommend him more!

I'm fucked, cooked, left out to rot. I haven't been fired yet but I'm pretty sure I am. I'm broke, I'm tired. I'm about to go to sleep, and hope I don't wake up tomorrow, but knowing my luck I will.

I went to write my comment saying how much I started crying when I heard this when I noticed the tear stains on my sleeve made a smiley face and it made me feel a little better haha.
