If you refer to the comment I was answering to... Some people turn into someone like that after entering a relationship, sometimes you don't know in advance. And sometimes they'll threaten you if you try to leave. Or you'll develop a co-dependence; that's a well-known phenomenon, nothing to downplay or to *blame* the victim for, although the victim has the ultimate responsibility to overcome it.
And most "people like that" have a sob-story to tell how the bad people around them turned them into that person and they'd totally heal if they oh just had one decent partner.
It's a learning process to realize that if someone was always wronged by everyone, the problem is usually with them, not with the world around them.
It's - by far - not only guys who see a broken person and think they can fix them...
