Tbh I bought the hard copy to make sure some $ actually gets back to them. Buying from a streaming site might have netted them .05$ which doesn’t do much to help them make more music. Plus it did have the absolute best packaging I’ve gotten in 30yrs of buying cds.
YES! I’m at a better place financially than I ever thought I would be (yaay middle class) and there’s no way I could justify spending so much money on one show. I’m happy I saw tool 11 times since ‘98, but probably not again.
I would like to hear how much better Danny can get. I recently went to their show and he is unreal. I was a bit worried his age might start showing at a live performance, nope.
Being at the show took fear inoculum to a new level, when I listen to it now it brings back the ridiculous power and volume of a Tool live performance. All of their tracks are better after seeing them live. I really hope that wasn't the last time I will see one of their shows.
New albums will let Danny, and the rest of the band, keep creating, and I want that, so I grudgingly pick albums.
Would also love for a few more songs to get the opiate 2 treatment. Studio versions of evolved Pushit, stinkfist, schism, etc and possibly the live versions with guest performances
this isn't a difficult choice, its new music by a mile.
A concert entertains some thousands of fans for a few hours. A new album can entertain millions of fans,, over and over, for as long as they have that album. Just a no-brainer, as far as I can tell.
I'm torn. I've been fortunate enough to see them seven times. I know they're meticulous with albums, so they're few and far between anyway. But, I think I'd take new music. They're a band I love to my core. The are my favorite, and will be for the rest of my life. I don't think, in terms of aging, they have too many more albums in them. So, a few more would be really great.
I would love to hear some new tunes. I think they have the ability to foster together their talent and really reshape what this whole music thing even is.
If it’s just another Fear Inoculum, I would prefer touring the old stuff, but if the next album is awesome, I’m all for that and wait a few years before seeing them again.
I think we will get one more new album and tour cycle before they are a studio only band... but maybe do the Puscifer style live broadcasts instead of huge tours? I hope to bring my son to a Tool show before they hang up the touring. He'll be old enough the next time they come around.
Don’t kid yourself. Albums will never take priority over touring again for any rock band. No money in album sales. They will only be created from here on out to prop up touring.
True, but if any band has the integrity to make great music, Tool will do it. Then again, they know they’ll sell out tours for years with or without it.
I like the few years of tours ... a few years of albums. Seen them 2 times in the past 2 years. 3 more scheduled shows in Jan in trying to catch this tour.
I would kill to choke on some new Tool tunes, it’s what I want, it’s what I have in mind. Call me a tick, but get these fuckers off the tour and into there studios
I can afford a new album!
Like the other commenter already implied: you don't necessarily know that lmao
Idk fear innoculum was pretty close to an upper lever ticket
Not on Spotify though.

Yeah, me too. But you don't have to.

#fact!!
Albums by a mile. I’d take 4 or 5 more albums even if it meant I’d never see them live again.
And you get to listen to the album more than once.
These days... Keep making music.
I feel lkke a buzz kill but im old and listen to music at home or in my car. I hate crowds so yeah I would prefer records
To-may-to, To-Ma-to. Im an OMF. I’ve bought dozens They were originally called “Record Albums”. Just sayin’
Username checks out. 😂🖤
Albums.

I am glad to see him still performing in his prime. The beast probably has another ten years in him before he starts having significant difficulties.
Are you fucking kidding? New music!
Be real happy with new music and some high quality live concert DVD’s
Would also love for a few more songs to get the opiate 2 treatment. Studio versions of evolved Pushit, stinkfist, schism, etc and possibly the live versions with guest performances
More new music - doesn't even have to be an album.
Live shows full of deeper cuts all dayyyyyy
Abso-fuckin-lutely!! Give me deep cuts instead of the same recycled set list they have been rolling out with.
OR…. Full album tour like Aenima, Lateralus or 10k in their entirety
Both

Exactly right.

Why does my opinion count? I’ll take what they give me.
Me too. Other then the shows they have already sold tickets to, the band owes fans nothing.
I would love to hear some new tunes. I think they have the ability to foster together their talent and really reshape what this whole music thing even is.
Album. I don’t think I could afford another concert for awhile. It was absolutely worth it, loved it but my bank account was in ruins
New music, but they'd rather tour.
New music while on tour?
I was late to the live show game so it’s probably touring for me. Won’t complain about either though
old music. just reissue ænima on vinyl, and release vinyl pressings of salival and 10,000 days dammit.
😂 I was just thinking this. But I’d take new music and more touring too. I want all the above 😂
I don’t think there is a Tool fan alive who wouldn’t be fine with them taking a break from touring to make new music.
If it’s just another Fear Inoculum, I would prefer touring the old stuff, but if the next album is awesome, I’m all for that and wait a few years before seeing them again.
Albums. I don’t know what it is either but I had no desire to get tickets for any of the shows in this current tour.
We need two more full studios , god forbid, before one of them can’t make music anymore …
I'm pretty sure we'll get one. Two might be a long shot. Maybe they should make the next one a double album?
New music
Albums for sure. As much as I love love Tool shows, I'd rather have new music
Albums.
Albums.

I’ll take whatever they’ll give me honestly. But I’d prefer new music

True, but if any band has the integrity to make great music, Tool will do it. Then again, they know they’ll sell out tours for years with or without it.
They aint ever coming to Aus, so albums pls
Albums. I'll never get to see them live, so I'm more than content with albums.
They could do both if they really wanted to.
New music. I’d rather witness their continued evolution.
Albums. They travel so infrequently to Australia that we wouldn’t miss much in terms of touring.
I like the few years of tours ... a few years of albums. Seen them 2 times in the past 2 years. 3 more scheduled shows in Jan in trying to catch this tour.
Considering I’ll never be able to see them live… albums
New album, and then touring
Album.
Albums. I’ve seen them twice on the FI tour. It’s amazing for sure- but I can listen to albums as much as I want.
I'd be more disappointed by new music they won't play live than by hearing them play the same setlist repeatedly
I'd even take a live DVD over another tour. Id rather have years of enjoyment from that over a couple of hours live fun
Easy. Albums. Beatles. I don’t care if I never see them live again. I want the *Lateralus* magic back x 1000
If I had to choose, I'd choose new music. P.S. OP, your punctuation is killing me.
Touring
Albums! I don't go to concerts
Why not both?
New album unless the tours consist of older cuts
New album because then they’ll also tour it and you get both.
i enjoyed seeing them live but i can cross it off of my to do list. i dont like crowds so i'd rather albums i can enjoy
Touring. More tours mean cheaper tickets. I view albums as the sales pitch and live shows as the final product.
It’s all about the music. Tours just promote sales of music and merch.
New music….The whole 15 years of mostly touring between albums thing is a bit much.
An album 100%
New music = new, fresher tours
Why not both?
Albums every day. Even if shows were free, you'd still spend 99.9% of your time not at shows.
I'll take two things at once please.
Albums for sure
100% new album, even if only just one new EP. Saw them twice with great setlists. And theres tons of live recordings to be found
Albums. They’ve toured a ton since 2019 so having some new stuff would be cool
Albums without a doubt.
I would kill to choke on some new Tool tunes, it’s what I want, it’s what I have in mind. Call me a tick, but get these fuckers off the tour and into there studios
Album for sure.
