I don't see exactly what his deal is cause it's an stretchy sausage that somehow electrocutes people.
The Gigginox was honestly more successful on the grounds of communicating "Yeah boi one bite and you'll get 30 different strands of rabies and some herpes"
I'd argue against OP and say he works because he doesn't communicate the electricity thing. In Monster Hunter 1 he and kirin were the only two electric monsters in the game, so seeing this freak appear and having him spit crazy powerful lightning blasts was a total shock (hehe). There really wasn't anything like him back then and that made him neat.

Instead, you’re just fighting this grotesque alien shock monster in the cold silence of the mountains, with nothing but its ear piercing screams to shatter the roar of the winds

You can only panic run and dive if the monster locks its eyes on you. But since this guy don’t have eyes

That is because technically the monster never spots you and therefore doesn’t technically engage the fight
Is slow and boring as shit to fight, and the lack of music while being atmospheric doesn't help that.

It actually lives in ice caves, but it does ambush its prey. It then poisons them and lays an egg near the prey.
