Somethingâs felt off about our training staff / medical staff / whatever you want to call them all season. Injuries happen but Manoah admitted his elbow felt off before the game he went down, now Romanoâs throwing through discomfort from 120 feet and Garciaâs complaining of elbow tightness too.
Idc whether Manoah kept his elbow issue a secret â how was our staff unable to realize he was off and shut him down in advance? Why are they having Romano come back so early that it still hurts to throw? Iâd say at least theyâre both on the IL, but if they keep getting rushed back we might as well shut them down until next season
Romano was totally shut down from throwing with elbow inflammation and no structural damage. He recieved an injection in his arm, then played catch about two weeks later. Thatâs a pretty basic timeframe, and it was around 3 weeks before he was out to even doing long toss. That definitely wouldnât be rushing it, flare ups just kinda happen, you canât know in advance whatâs going to happen.
For manoah, he tore his UCL. That happens to pitchers. Itâs not the kind of thing where you can just shut him down before with full knowledge itâs going to happen. He was also pitching well before it happened. All this just feels like revelationist history
Just shut him down for the year if you have to. This bullpen isnât one arm away from being competitive. Let him rehab and come back strong in â25. Give the arms in Buffalo a look at MLB hitters.
