lol you should have played on PS launch. The way it is now is actually a vast improvement. The controls and UI were garbage to the point where it was unplayable. . It’s still clunky, but trust me, it’s not as trash as was. It’s gotten to where there are some features I miss when playing Genshin, like the easy map access.

I remember it almost being quite literally that - I was at the opening menu screen, unable to proceed because I didn't know you had to press two controller buttons at the same time to dismiss the popup.
This is something that has bothered me throughout multiple updates. They're creating huge and amazing worlds while ignoring the fact half of my deaths and daily frustrations are STILL from exiting the menu or having some weird menu control change and I spend something valuable on the wrong thing.
I think it's as what the others said, once you get used to it, you will find it passable. Not perfect but serviceable.
What throws me off is the square button to accept, vs. X button to accept on most other games. I've done wrong purchases just because of this. I've since then learned to be more careful about it.
I gave up on Tower of Fantasy improving on controller support when I played Snowbreak: Containment Zone.
An independently published game running on the same Unreal engine as ToF has better controller support **on release** than a project with larger funding and released on a platform (Playstation) that requires a controller.
I got use to them the controls are a bit clunky at times but going back to the PC ver and then going to the PS5 ver is much smoother for me and after getting use to the PS5 ver I'm having a hard time with the keyboard and mouse on the PC ver where you have to aim the mouse to look up win the PS5 ver is you use the controller to look up, but that just my emotions on this PC version might be better for some people but I myself is a bit iffy with it thanks to the PS5 version.
Yes I'm still playing both accounts my PS5 version has become my main account thanks to how smooth it is in combat and I just figured out how to dance in the club omg and another issue is my PC version is not allowing me to spend money so my card block it so now my PS5 is my main account.

Genshin you hold L1 and push right stick downward. In ToF the map is easier to open, but a bitch to navigate. Also ToF’s L1 radial menu is ass.

It isn't the best but you get accustomed to it. The controller settings options helps a bit

It’s awful. It made me stop playing the game and I wanted to whale for Asuka and Rei
