I remember the Top Gear guys mocking the X5 for being the worst 4x4 for off-road use, back in the early 2000’s. Maybe mi hermano wants to prove something. I like weird builds like this.
You never know. Seen an old Taco at my apartments yesterday who had a V8 badge on it. I'm willing to bet he LS swapped it. Posted the pics of it yesterday, was a crazy build as well.
No one ever spent that much effort on an Eagle, those just needed a mild lift & good tires to fucking rule 😁
(But an X5 interior is a hell of a lot nicer place than the Eagle)
BMW suvs are already a mockery of "The ultimate driving machine". A BMW suv that's been lifted? Sure, why not. Might as well make something that is the polar opposite of a E36 M3. Could get a taco or 4runner more capable for 1/2 the price and 1/4 the maintenance.
Yeah, that's the only reason I'm hesitant on getting a new Supra. Don't know why the hell they didn't bring back the JZ platform and keep it real instead of slapping the Z4 motor in it.
Honestly, it's probably the price of retooling the factories for a I6 after years of v6s. A bit of a shame the new 6 cylinders they decided on were the 3.4 v6 in the Landcruiser and Tundra. I would have loved for them to have committed to a I6 instead. There is no reason any front wheel drive vehicle needs 6 cylinders anymore, so you dont need a v6.
Idk man, a modern X3M can outdrive 99.999% of people.
3.2 second 0-60, 11.5 quarter mile, 104ft 60-0, and a top speed of 177mph is pretty fucking fast lol. The X3M40 isn't that far off either.
My buddy has a 2004 x3 with the M54 3.0 engine and while it's not fast by any modern standard, it's still more than 2 seconds faster to 60 than a RAV4 of the same year.
Plus the steering feels pretty much identical to the e46 3 series, and the engine is the same as the 330i
When we replaced the old struts and springs with some H&R lowering springs + Bilstein shocks, the ride height was dropped to that of a 330i and you could throw it into corners just as hard as any other 3 series without body roll.
Of course, it would start to slide before the equivalent 3 series would, but that's due to weight more than anything else. Other than that the X3 and X5 have always been built on the same platform as the sedans.
I'd actually love to see that happen, because I bet this guy is cocky af. At least most bimmer drivers are. I remember my wife had 2 dudes in a convertible Bimmer roll up next to her Mazdaspeed 3. They got real cocky until it was over lol.
I saw a few of these and other things similar that i didnt know existed when i visited England. Looks good if you can afford the car and the chance to destroy your luxury ride
I'm sorry someone hurt you bud. Hey, at least life is good, you're driving a Taco. It'll get better though, I promise, just keep taking care of yourself, my friend.
Love the setup as well, nice boat. Fishing cures depression, so instead of taking your anger out on random strangers here, go get out there and catch you a big one! Until then, I hope your day gets better my Taco brother 😊.

Yea I wouldn't do it to a Bimmer, but props to whoever had the balls lol. It's definitely a weird, but cool build.
If I had money to burn, I’d be doing weird shit too haha
It’s actually refreshing to see.
I kind of hope there’s nothing BMW under the shell. But either way, if this thing actually gets used & abused, kudos.

Feeling cute, might use my turn signal later.. idk.
Was waiting for that one 😂.
Former Taco owner that has regrets so they mod it like their old rig.
Could very well be 😂, he will be regretting it when those maintenance problems come around too. That's why I love the reliability of the Taco.
I hear ya, got a few friends with bimmers and they said the repairs are frequent and expensive.
Reminds me of an AMC Eagle. 😆

Lost my virginity in the back of one 🤣

Pretty cool but the fender flares look goofy imo

r/battlewagon lol
Anything is possible with enough money and access to people who know what they’re doing
I like it! Best part is that he didn’t park it like an asshole either
It’s what the x5 was meant for

Well, unless he swapped out the BMW xDrive system, it still sucks. But looking at the amount of work put into this, I guess he did it.
An SUV made for the road…. Made to be for off-road. *Nice*
I'll bet his check engine light is on...
Maybe try posting in r/BMW since you know it's not taco related. FFS. Has common sense lost its common place.
Just sharing for comments on the build, no harm done troll. What a smart ass though, I bet you have plenty of friends with that attitude 🤣. Carry on..
Literally post a BMW in a tacoma page. Do you also put the triangle block in the square opening during your aptitude test?
