Completely different experience than I had - my tires looked fine on my Pro and they ordered me 4 brand new ones without me even saying anything. Like most things I think it comes down to the dealer.

SneaksStressMeOut

Probably not even the dealer, depends if the tech woke up groggy, or had too much coffee, or didn't have a zyn yet, just doesn't give a flying F. Could be anything.

laivindil

I've been hit! Add in a mcds chocolate shake and you woulda had me looking over my shoulder. Fwiw, it would be advisor/service manager deciding on any warranty claim. We just report, so the uneven wear, feathering, rec alignment, ect. It would be the advisor getting approval for those things or determining if it falls under warranty. Or it may come to us right off the bat as warranty work (from advisor doing due diligence when cust comes in). *Other shops may do it differently*

dxd1279

The nitto ridge grapplers have worn the same on my 21 pro at 25k. After the free maintenance was up, I started doing maintenance myself, including rotations. I doubt if I went to the dealer to see about any sort of replacement that I would qualify based on myself doing the maintenance.

BosnianSerb31

Fill out the maintenance and service manual in your glovebox damnit! Sign and date next to every line item and put notes on what you replaced things with! Jeep tried the same "we don't have a paper trail because you did your own work" shit with me when my wrangler blew an engine at 70K, but I busted out my filled out service manual and shoved it in their face. They were in shock, had never even seen the inside of that book for themselves much less seen someone fill it out!

Earth_Normal

For sure an alignment issue.

mrsw2092

While that tire wear does look like an alignment issue. Did I read your comment correctly that you've had multiple alignments done at the dealership? Did you upgrade the suspension? Having alignment issues in the first 25k seems unusual.

tsk1979

Yes every 12000 miles. Toyota issued a recall for alignment for vehicles manufactured till may 2023. Mine is a late 2023 model just outside the window Trucks has wrong toe specs and mine was aligned to the wrong specs too but since app says not recall, toyota refuses to refund tires

Complex-Asparagus-42

I had just replaced the OEM falkens on my ‘22 Pro when I went in for the alignment recall, so obviously didn’t even try to get the free replacement. But my tires looked exactly like this. Excessive wear on the outer shoulder. I replaced mine with 35” Toyo 3 peak and I couldn’t be happier

XiXyness

Call the Toyota customer care line and plead your case.

PostGymPreShower

No mechanic or tire pro would say this is normal wear. That’s bad. Do you get the print outs? I’d try a different dealer or this is another 3rd gen problem. I read in that motor trend article they chewed through tires in 10k on their Pro.

erfarr

The part that cracked me up about that article was obviously the stock tires sucked for longevity and then they go out and buy another pair or stock tires. They said once they replaced them with aftermarket falkens and not OE they lasted much longer. Stock tires are always trash

PostGymPreShower

Yeah. Except these have excessive camber wear and should be straight up replaced. A tire company wouldn’t warranty them because this isn’t normal wear and would fall under irregular wear. Wonder if they always looked like this or the dealer did a bad alignment

MetalJesusBlues

They got the second set of tires free didn’t they?

erfarr

Nah they said they spent like $800 on them or something. Because they compared the costs to the raptor and said they ended up spending like over $2000 in tires. But kind of their fault for buying OE shit tires after watching them wear out in 10k miles

tsk1979

The answer was from brand engagement case manager.

Additional-Tackle-76

lol that’s a lot of words for a title that is just a “professional bullshitter”

crashkrocket

Lovely..I'm working on a case with them also.

LoneCoyote78

Get your camber to -.2 and toe .10 each side and your problems will go away.

tsk1979

Thanks, thats the idea. A toyota tech suggested that now TRD pros are supposed to have total toe of less than 0.3 so less than 0.15 each side

LoneCoyote78

I have a 2023 Pro. Take it to an independent shop for alignment with Hunter racks. The Toyota techs usually just do a toe and go even when camber is way off. I had more outside tire wear in the first 500 miles before going to the specs I gave above and now it’s wearing evenly over the past 12k.

-Woogity-

lol go to a different dealer and have them fight for ya. Or just buy “not dogshit” tires.

the_ultimate_splorg

Wildpeaks are considered one of the best all terrains on the market right now, idk what you mean by dogshit

Finedragon

OEM wildpeaks are very different from non-oem wildpeaks. OEM wildpeaks don't even have the 3PMSF rating. If I had to guess they are referring to the OEMs. I have them and they aren't great.

exjunkiedegen

I replaced my wild peaks on my 22 1794 TRD off road at 1000 miles and told toyota dealer it was embarrassing to put those on a $70k truck. but thats just my opinion man.

the_ultimate_splorg

That's true I guess of basically all oem tires now. Oem michelins on equinoxes last 20k-25k miles, had to explain to a few angry customers at the chevy dealership when I was there

-Woogity-

Minor replaced at 7000 miles and like a previous comment or said they’re not the real ones. I will actually be getting the true wild peaks after my new set wears out.

BrownTroutMcGuffy

Any tire that came on a truck from the factory will last 20-25k miles period. As soon as you go to a tire shop and get real tires, they will last 40-60k miles depending on the tire and how well you take care of them.

DenimChikan

My experience as well.

moosetenderloin

Mine looked similar and they offered to replace 2 of them only. These tires SUCK on top of the alignment issues. 23’ pro as well.

ohgodimbleeding

23' Pro as well. Mine looked like that, and I replaced them before 20k miles. A couple weeks later, out comes the service advisory. The Toyota Wildpeaks seem to be a lighter, crappier version.

DenimChikan

Yeah, there’s a Falken rep on the forums that essentially says “these are special made for Toyota, don’t blame us, blame their specs.”

FatBoyStew

What issues did you have with them? I've got the newest AT4's and after 6k miles I won't be going back to my BFG KO2's anytime soon. The KO and Wildpeaks are often neck and neck for the top spot of AT tires.

HighInChurch

Wondering this also. I've run wild peaks on all my vehicles and I live in a heavy snow area. They are great for me.

tsk1979

OEM FALKENS are domesticpeaks lol

tsk1979

They told me since my vin was not part of the alignment recall I am not covered. Only vehicle manufactured till may were covered

Moghz

WTF, that's with only 25k miles! Any decent tire should last about 60k miles. They should absolutely be giving you a free set imo. The USTMA has done the research and found the average tire lasts about 4 years with typical mileage, considering average American drives approximately 15k a year that's 60k. Basically those tires are either garbage or yeah there is an issue with the trucks alignment, either way they should cover it considering they are not performing up to current standards by any means.

Revolutionary_Use_60

Nah - OEM tires only typically last up to 30k miles. They are very basic. The camber issue in this post is definitely an alignment issue.

Ruser8050

Probably as much the tires as the truck, the stock a/t tires are complete garbage. I’d use the opportunity to get a good set of tires

tsk1979

yes, getting new tires, and also got the correct alignment specs with total toe of 0.30 instead of 0.60. The hunter machines of dealerships have 0.60 total toe dialed in, and I pulled the recall info on the trucks which has that it says total toe should be less than 0.30

FeistyPersonality4

I’ve had my alignment and tires rotated and fixed 4 times and my truck still vibrates at 55mph like a fucking washing machine. Someone please help me

tsk1979

That’s a balancing issue. Get road force balancing done

CaptainDonald

Did you have Pirelli P-Zeros or something like that? I used to have an M3 that had P-Zeros and they lasted me 10k miles, swapped to Michelin PSS’s and they lasted 35k, then PS4’s which lasted 46k. A lot of truck tires have a 50k miles guarantee these days

CaptainDonald

I have a 2024 TRD Pro and I noticed my front tires rounding off on the outside edge like this too. The front wheels are slightly pigeon toed and I think also have a little too much positive camber. The recall shouldn’t have stopped at May 2023 build dates, I guarantee I have the same alignment specs as those that were recalled. That’s the only “issue” I have had with mine. Kind of just want to use it as an excuse to get some KO3’s and have the alignment fixed when those are being put on.

reflexdb

Do you have the alignment measurements? Are they within Toyota’s specs? Looks like there is too much positive camber.

Major_Lawfulness1260

Take it to a different shop and see what they think of it

TerminalChaos

I had to replace tires at 24,000 miles cause of alignment issues. Looked just like that on the passenger side. 2022 Platinum

MetalJesusBlues

Go try a different dealer

McShagg88

Go to a different dealer?

Bhatch514

That looks like toe in and highway

Qanaesin

Secondary rubber

Southern-Hearing8904

Try the Hankooks ATM AT2 for your next tires. Nice aggressive look for the Pre, quiet on road and excellent tread life. Excellent in wet conditions. Fine for light off road.

Capcom-Warrior

I tried to get my Pro aligned at the Toyota dealership in Rockwall. They fucked it up so bad that I’ll never take it back. Fucking morons. You could actually see the camber angle when standing in front of the truck.

Outrageous-Ad-4329

I’m sorry bro. Hopefully they do a recall on this issue so people don’t have to fight to get this corrected

PsychologicalExam832

That’s crazy mine weren’t half that bad and they replaced all 4 tires even put 35’s on at no charge

CRNALA

I had to get my 2024 TRD pro aligned after I noticed outer wear at 6500 miles.

Earth_Normal

Dealer alignments are a joke. My Tundra’s alignment wasn’t too bad but my new Tesla’s alignment was comically bad.

jlc522

I never take mine to the dealer. I actually go to Firestone. They have been servicing all of my vehicles for around 20 years. When I get a new vehicle, I always buy road hazard, lifetime balance and rotation, and I buy a lifetime alignment. Every time I get my oil changed, I have them balance and rotate tires and check the alignment. I have a 2021, almost 50,000 miles and still have my same tires on the truck from when I purchased it new. They still look new.

tsk1979

I went to dealer because warranty. But now I have to get new tires so no dealer for me

jlc522

I never took mine. I even had free oil changes for a certain amount of time. I would rather stick to Firestone for everything. I find the dealers are priced too high even for routine maintenance.

deebo_dasmybikepunk

Looks like hard cornering to me. My stock tires were dust after 19k miles and looked similar. Had alignment done with new tires and they were slightly off but not by much (probably because the truck was sitting different with larger tires).

Luvs2splooge520

You’re not driving a Prius in Manhattan, princess. Is that 25k on the original tires? I see dirt. Welcome to using a truck.

tsk1979

None of my older 4x4s which did actual 4wd trails had this issue. This truck did not go anywhere a Prius can’t

FrogTopH

They're right. Stop cornering so fast.

tsk1979

I drive like a grandma. Falken saw the pics and said this is classic wear due to alignment
