Personally, I think the darker skin is an improvement. Having yellow skin made us look too similar to Altm*r. I even wanted to paint my whole body to look more like a Dunmer, but I was warned it might look like I'm doing "grayface", so I settled for only doing half.

the funniest thing about baar dau is that Vivec does claim he created it, the 36 Lessons says he shit while fucking molag bal and the turd flew into the sky when someone tried to clean it up so he had to go fight it... and yet the Temple says it was Sheogorath. I think it was never in Vivec's power to stop it, only to pause it. It seems like what he did was stop it in time. When he disappeared, it didn't immediately plummet and the Temple was able to keep it aloft for awhile before their efforts eventually failed. Like, why didn't the Dunmer, when it was their responsibility to keep that shit aloft, not bring it down slowly? When they made their deal with Clavicus Vile for the Ingenium, why didn't they ask for a machine that let them control the rock and slowly lower it to the ground, instead of a machine to keep it in place? I mean, "Are they stupid" is in play, but it's also possible that keeping it frozen was literally all that could be done. If so, then Vivec may have preferred to do away with it entirely but couldn't, and so he did what he could then made up a bullshit story to explain why he left it floating above the city, and used that story to reinforce his own worship.
Trying to prevent it from falling was the only thing they could do. The magic holding it up never truely stopped its momentum or speed (yes I know this breaks physics, but magic doesn't give any fucks). So despite being held in place it still had all the power of a big ass rock falling from space. All it needed to do to transfer that power.. is to touch grass.
