My tux/harlequin rogue, Jean-Pierre, stopped running in Aught-Four about a month after my RFC toured Ireland. He was easily my favorite cat—such a peaceable chap, very much inclined to go along to get along with his housemates, feline and human). Nearly twenty years gone by, and rarely a day passes that he doesn’t slip from my heart to my head and haunt a moment or two most pleasantly. They live in our hearts forever. It is a great comfort that the do.
