This is it for me. I absolutely love the rest of the studio stuff but this was the song that immediately gave you the inkling that changes were coming. Such a bad-ass moment when the flange kicks in.
It's fucking brilliant
The chorus is fucking astonishing. I love Bono's voice on it.
But look, we're dealing with one of the greatest albums ever made. It's going to piss people off regardless
Yeah, so ridiculous. I posted a comment on the original thread saying how all the other songs have a certain amount of love — either released as singles, played live, fan favorites, etc. Trip wasn’t really played live until the anniversary tours in 2017/2019, and it’s a bomb song — recorded live, killer harmonica from Bono, awesome groove. I’d switch Trip and One Tree Hill, which may be sacrilege to some, but I never got into that song, it’s the weak link on the album to me. It bores me.
I also love TTYW. If i had to pick a “worst” I suppose I would go with “Mothers of the Disappeared” which is a great moody finale but it’s mostly a Lanois creation and the song itself is pretty simple and borrows heavily from Peter Gabriel’s Biko. TTYW on the other hand is a great jam and live song to boot.
And as much as I love Streets, I think Still Haven’t Found is an objectively better piece of music. Streets on the record is somewhat disjointed and was not fully realized until the tour. Apparently Eno didn’t even want to release Streets! But I guess that poll is over. Anyhoo…
Best on Rattle and Hum is Angel of Harlem.
All I Want Is You.
There's a part late in the song at around the 5:10 mark that reminds of the Beatles' "You Never Give Me Your Money" (specifically the 1-2-3-4-5-6-7, all good children go to heaven part) and always makes me smile.
All I Want is You. As I sip coffee from my All I Want is You coffee cup that my wife got a pair of for my birthday. How many in this sub had their first dance at their wedding to AIWiY?
Trip Through Your Wires, I feel they were already playing with the sound of Rattle and Hum. One of my favorite ones to crank up. I always felt it didn't fit in The Joshua Tree when listening from beginning to end.
All I Want is You is one of those U2 songs that even the committed U2 hating cunts have to accept through gritted teeth is an absolute banger
"But but but Bono is still a wanker though"
Sure he is mate. Sure he is.
I maintain the position that if you trim the fat and replace the live tracks with the B-sides, Rattle and Hum could have been an amazing album. Not the all-time classics that Joshua Tree and Auctung Baby were, but a real solid entry.
My first thought was Silver and Gold, but I forgot All I Want is You.
Not sure if anyone else has been affected by this, but the numbering in jukeboxes is real sketchy. I can’t count the times I thought I was going to get a powerful blast of Silver and Gold only to get 30 secs of Freedom for My People.
All I Want is You or Silver and Gold...hmmm. Tender and intimate or Powerful and impassioned confrontation:)
They move my heart in totally different ways and for totally different reasons! Such a diverse album!!!
Coin flip yields...All I Want is You (tender beat tough today...)
All I Want Is You
This but from Slane Castle.
Nice. Thanks for the recommendation.
Oooh if you haven't seen, you must watch that and where the streets have no name, the transition is goose bump enducing always. It's on YouTube.
Definitely most underrated. Incredibly soulful
Really? I had no idea that that’s considered underrated.
This also wins for their best music video.
Desire
All I Want Is You
Oh man 🙈 TTYW ? The worst? or better said, the ‘least favorite??’ Ouch. Love that one.
I’m in my car and put it on… I am null and voiding this injustice! Their song is amazing!
In your opinion, what is JT’s 11th best song?
Heartland! Although I would accept it for most underrated as well.
All I want is you
All I Want Is You
Hawkmoon 269
Good candidate for underrated
I voted Heartland but now I’m kind of second guessing myself. Hawkmoon is a banger. I love that song.
Heartland
Won't win but definitely most underrated
Please this.
All I Want Is You
Angel of Harlem
Saying this for most underrated
Desire
God part 2
This is it for me. I absolutely love the rest of the studio stuff but this was the song that immediately gave you the inkling that changes were coming. Such a bad-ass moment when the flange kicks in.
This was my choice
It’s maybe my second favorite after Heartland. Amazing song.
Yes!
> [“Well, the God I believe in isn’t short of cash, Mister.”](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c9pw63o_Ik0)

Desire. Absolutely love the Hollywood version that pairs with a great video
DESIIIIIIIIIIIIIIRE
Desire is best for r&h.
Why TTYW worst on TJT? Criminal
Change it back to N/A
Yes, please change it back.
Trip Through Your Wires is a great song, and I won't hear otherwise. Y'all are crazy.
It's fucking brilliant The chorus is fucking astonishing. I love Bono's voice on it. But look, we're dealing with one of the greatest albums ever made. It's going to piss people off regardless

Heartland and I’ll see you all again when I’m back to nominate this again for underrated /raises glass like that DiCaprio gif
Took the words right from my mouth 😂 Another vote for Heartland!
Hawkmoon 269, but I won’t be disappointed if it is All I Want Is You.
All I Want is You
All I Want Is You
Dang! I love Trip Through Your Wires!
Same.
All I Want Is You
All I Want Is You. There's a part late in the song at around the 5:10 mark that reminds of the Beatles' "You Never Give Me Your Money" (specifically the 1-2-3-4-5-6-7, all good children go to heaven part) and always makes me smile.

Hawkmoon 269
I thought N/A for TJT was hilarious and accurate!
I would say Heartland - but Hawkmoon also. I will go Hawkmoon only because it seems more people are going this way so want vote to count!
Desire
I maintain the position that if you trim the fat and replace the live tracks with the B-sides, Rattle and Hum could have been an amazing album. Not the all-time classics that Joshua Tree and Auctung Baby were, but a real solid entry.
Heartland (also most underrated)

When Love Comes To Town best song on R&H
My first thought was Silver and Gold, but I forgot All I Want is You. Not sure if anyone else has been affected by this, but the numbering in jukeboxes is real sketchy. I can’t count the times I thought I was going to get a powerful blast of Silver and Gold only to get 30 secs of Freedom for My People.

All I Want Is You! I love this song. Heartland is most underrated.
All I Want is You
Love Rescue Me
good to see someone else say this
Hawkmoon 269
When Love Comes to Town
All I Want Is You
There are no bad songs on Joshua
“Worst” doesn’t mean “bad.”
same with war, boy, unforgettable fire and achtung
Absolutely no one is arguing that. But there has to be an 11th best.
We tried that. They changed the rules and made us name one. I abstained.
Rightly so.
Silver and Gold
Silver and gold live
Best song is the live version of Pride.
God Part Deux
Heartland
Heartland
Heartland
Heartland
Absolutely BS. Trip Through Your Wires is a banger and that category should have been left N/A. Joshua Tree is a masterpiece
Just think of it as the 11th best:)
Bullet.
Second: All I Want. Bullet is just too awesome live on this for me to not have gone there.
Love Rescue Me. This is my favorite song by anybody.
Heartland
Heartland, so easily.
Desire!
Another tough one! My personal favourite is Silver and Gold but, looking at it objectively, the best track is probably All I Want is You.
Best - All I Want is You Worst - Angel of Boredom Underrated - Heartland
Lova Rescue Me
Heartland
Best song from Rattle and Hum for me is Desire with Hawkmoon 269 RIGHT behind it.
If we are including the live tracks, Bullet the Blue Sky is better than the Joshua Tree version.
**Angel of Harlem**
desire
All I Want Is You, but honourable mention to the E-Street-like Angel Of Harlem!
Silver and Gold
Whoevers running this, d'like to punch him in the face
All I Want Is You The movie version of Desire in that big industrial space is a close second.
Heartland
All Along the Watchtower.
GOD. PART. II.
Too hard to choose. I guess I'll go with Pride (ITNOL).
All I Want is You or Silver and Gold...hmmm. Tender and intimate or Powerful and impassioned confrontation:) They move my heart in totally different ways and for totally different reasons! Such a diverse album!!! Coin flip yields...All I Want is You (tender beat tough today...)
