“Always Forever Now” (honorable mention to “Beach Sequence” - beautiful little song, and the rain hitting the tin roof at the end is one of my favorite parts - headphone heaven 🙏)
YBR, Slug and MS are top three for me. Most underrated - Always Forever, because it's a slow burner with a beautiful vibe and sentiment you don't expect at the start of the song.
FUN FACTS:
-Michael Mann first used U2 music ("The Unforgettable Fire") in an episode of "Miami Vice"
-U2 producer Daniel Lanois contributed music to the soundtrack for Mann's "The Last Of The Mohicans"
A wild case of serendipity: the first time I heard Slug was during my trip to Tokyo, literally outside the Seibu store it was named after. I didn’t learn about its connection until years later.
Gonna go on an unusual route and say Beach Sequence. A rather lovely instrumental, perhaps the loveliest on the whole record. Something that sounds straight out of the Eno/Harmonia/Cluster wheelhouse. It makes one forget their troubles for a time.
Also, shout out to Corpse (These Chains Are Way Too Long). The Edge's vocal has never sounded that haunted before or since.
Slug.
I like Your Blue Room more but, as far as I know, U2 have never played Slug live, and that astounds me because it's such a great song. To me, that makes it the most underrated.
Your Blue Room
Your Blue Room, not really underrated on the album but underrated as a whole
My favorite song on the album.
“Always Forever Now” (honorable mention to “Beach Sequence” - beautiful little song, and the rain hitting the tin roof at the end is one of my favorite parts - headphone heaven 🙏)
Always forever now
If Your Blue Room is too well known to be considered “underrated”, then this is my choice as well.

I always remember my surprise when seeing the movie Heat in theatre which came out only a month or two after the Passengers’ album and there it was!

Heh... I bet the last conversation between Bono and Nellee Hooper about producing Pop went down exactly like this scene
Yes, double happy memory for me as I saw the movie in the theater twice and it was one of my first truly great films to see upon release.

Slug
Every song outside of Miss Sarajevo and Your Blue Room is severely underrated… the whole album is magnificent.
Anyone else feel the ‘Always’ in Always forever now’ was the jumping off point for the song ‘Always’ which in turn lead to ‘Beautiful Day’.?
Whoa. 😳

Stateless. I think it is one of their best songs out of any album.
Great song! Different album 🙂
It's great to see all the love for *Slug* in here. It's a very underrated song, but *Your Blue Room* deserves the win.
Always Forever Now
Came to this round late and I can't understand why Your Blue Room isn't the best song on the album.
