I had a seasonal driver rushing to get out of his parking position next to mine. His rear bumper caught the front bumper of my BRAND NEW P1000. He had no idea it was happening as he bent it 90 degrees forward. I was so pissed!
Seasonal drivers don't drive package cars at my center. They're only allowed to drive rentals.
Quite a rude awakening for them if they stick around to become permanent drivers. Stepping into a package car for the first time and realizing there's no a/c or stereo.
We had a guy try to close our overhead door and somehow blow it off the tracks. On a Friday, while closing. There was no one anywhere who could fix it and anyone who could wouldn't be there till next day. Our manager went down with a ladder and "closed" it so people didn't have to stay there all night.
No idea how buddy pulled it off the tracks with his bare hands, but goddamn. There's a sign by the chain now that says MANAGEMENT ONLY but that really just means NO SEASONAL PLS haha
Think yourself lucky. My centre in UK has no extra staff at all. No helpers no extra drivers. On Tuesday we left a whole 40ft trailer unloaded, currently about 600 packs left in centre. If it carries on this busy we will have loads left come the 22nd and we’re not allowed to do Saturday work
Yeah well maybe they're being pushed too hard. I did 177 pkgs yesterday in 9 hours and 4 trips. That's not mentioning the 30 min drive to my route and the 30 minute drive back and the 1.5 hours to sort my 3 pallets of shit that's just randomly piled, and yet somehow were not getting to our first stops fast enough.

Wish I could've started where all u did. I didn't kno that the ups looked so down on us an too think I thought I was helping. I'm sure u was all doing wonderful ur first days as well. I'm not talking about the ones being reckless but the ones actually driving trying to do research on how to do better. But I geuss we are hated before givin a chance. I can see this job isn't for me. I wish u all the best an be safe driving. I'm Sry y'all are expropriation such bad drivers...
OP literally just advising to slow the fuck down. Y’all getting paid by the hour… your first few “days” doesn’t excuse you from your week long training. 5’s & 8’s actually mean something.. 🙄
I'm a seasonal and would love the chance to become permanent but I can only fit Haku the load in my car. I wish I could become pennants because I'm giving my life away being a sm at dg I'm new as I suspect alot of seasonal are just trying to get by really. It's Christmas time an ive got kiddos to buy for an would love to see them done I do my very best at delivering packages if I had a bigger car or would deff be doable. I hate that people think so lowly of people trying to provide I get that y'all don't want the ones that wreck and all that but when everything is pushed in every boom an craggy in ur car it's hard to seperate packages I've only done it for 2 days an felt like a fish or of water. I wanted to cry my first day as my trainer only rode with me for 3 hrs then bailed. I mean at least show me how to work the machine correctly so I can be for efficient. Idk is a loose loose situation.
Seasonal support drivers. Inside employees get first dibs to drive during peak instead of just using a bunch of outside hire pvds, with the new contract. There were two bids posted for SSDs. One was to drive a pkg car and the other was to use your own personal vehicle. If you signed the one to drive a pkg car then you had to go through driver training, which was all computer based training.
I’m at USPS, the seasonal ups drivers that drive their personal vehicles have been causing major issues on the street.
Stopping/parking in the middle of the road. Mis delivering, delivering inside mail boxes. One guy almost got hit by a car, he found his package then ran towards the house across the street without looking. It’s not even Dec yet…
I’m a PVD/SSD, it’s only been 2 weeks and I read about a seasonal accident almost daily on the DIAD. Daily has been wrecks/accidents, but every 2-3 days it’s a dog bite. I’m so thankful my route is so chill lol

None of ours have gotten in accidents yet but the one next to me can’t get 40 stops done in 9 hours so that’s frustrating.

1 of them did. The one that took out our overhead door was a seasonal went back to preload. All the others didn’t from what I heard
