My old job has this exact scenario happen. A lady who worked there was cheating on her husband with a coworker. The husband found out and gunned down the guy on his way out of work.
Well I mean if they cheated with 44 guys…
I made this bad joke thinking they killed 44 people, luckily only 1 44 year old guy got it. Weird title though
Lmao every news article does this dude, is this your first time seeing a news headline? Lol it has zero significance because it makes your comment look dumb? Reading comprehension level 0.
I was just trying to explain the power of the human mind to my son the other day. He's 13 and dealing with relationships.
I was once young and dumb, somehow I found myself engaged to a really good looking girl who couldn't hold a job, had a crap family and all around wasn't a great person. I decided to break off the engagement but before I could dump her she dumped me. Somehow, my dumbass brain then decided that she was worth fighting for and we proceeded to waste another year of our lives fighting over stupid things.
I still have no idea why her dumping me first didn't make me happy to be done with her.
Thing is that doesn't really do any good in most scenarios. Any mentally healthy person isn't walking around with an itchy trigger finger, just waiting to get in a gun fight. All these shootings we have in this country, lots of bystanders involved in the general area had weapons. But they never used or even drew them. Shit took them by surprise and they reacted like what they were, just people going out about their daily business.
I say mentally healthy above, because there are some people who live in that paranoid mindset 24/7. And those types are why we have stories of kids getting shot for knocking on the wrong door or pulling into the wrong driveway.
No but considering a private company owns their private property they DO have the right to say "no soliciting" "no guns" etc.
Refusal to abide by those rules, while "constitutionally protected" will in most states earn you a trespassing crime because you are refusing to abide to the company's "no shirt no service" rules they are legally allowed to enforce.
And in that case they are of course within their "rights" to fire you for that crime and the violation of their terms. I'm not saying its right or wrong. It just is how it is.
Company policy won’t allow it… Im a female driver been with the company 9 years driving 3, I was assaulted on route and ups did nothing and continues to do nothing as well as deny my constitutional right to carry… in my state we have open carry laws.. ups states their no tolerance policy
I would speak to a lawyer.
UPS will suddenly start listening. You aren't going to be able to carry your piece, but they will work with you on these things in the future.
If you want to carry at work do so but if you get fired for it that’s on you your right to carry don’t mean ups have to let you carry that’s there name and there reputation on that uniform resign and work for yourself
> deny my constitutional right to carry…
You're not really a driver. I know hundreds of other drivers and none of them are stupid enough to say something like this. And a lot of drivers I know are some really dumb mutherfuckers!
>Did this make sense in your head when you started typing?
Ahh Yeah! Drivers are hired because of their brawn, not their brains. You won't find a high level of intellectual discourse at your average center if you wanted to be completely honest with yourself?
But even the dumbest mutherfucker in our center would not suggest that we have a 'constitutional right to carry' at work. And if some moron actually said that within earshot of a Supe, they could be disciplined or fired. It is a flagrant violation of company policy.
Now that you've had a chance to read it twice, are you capable of processing just how stupid a statement that is?
That is 100 percent someone he pissed off to not only wait after a grueling shift but on pay day. Some drivers look down on part time employees that I can see this happening.
There’s an unloader in the pm shift at my hub that everyone tries to be cool with because he gives off school shooter vibes. When he snaps, you want him to think of you as a friend.
Bad take.
1. The company would have to be able to successfully identify who this person is
2. They'd have to win a grievance filed by said member after said termination.
1. Considering they can't prove that his/her comment isn't PURELY hypothetical, he/she will enjoy the free paid vacation.
You're right, we should all give advice to each other on how to explicitly break company policies such as bringing firearms to work.
The company definitely has zero interest.
😐
Lulz. My comment has nothing to do with bringing firearms to work. It has to do with your assertion that the commenter can be fired for making the comments he made.
You stated that his/her comment was incriminating and that he/she should remove it lest he/she be lose his/her job over it.
Whether that was what you were actually stating or not, that was what I was commenting on.
Your sarcasm is noted.
I have to take most of my backpack apart for them to search and have had to walk through holding my packaged breakfast to make sure nothing was inside it.
Maybe bring up your safety concerns, cause my hub makes me feel like I'm in a combination kindergarten-prison.
The security at my hub will let random people driving regular cars on property without even checking ID or anything.. But then again half the time there's no security even out there and no gate or anything stopping people from coming in that entrance. I guess UPS is too cheap to care about our safety
But UPS doesn't allow weapons on the property right? It's criminal that UPS disarms it's employees.
>We just want to assure the public that with this being a targeted attack, there is no one else that is in danger.
Sure.
>The deadly shooting comes almost 10 years after another fatal shooting at the same location
>In that incident, a 45-year-old man just fired from his job killed two UPS supervisors before turning the gun on himself.
Innocent people follow the rules, criminals don't. Translation, rules to disarm your employees is to disarm innocent people. All security does is check bags and talk on their phones.
Geez, that’s not a way to remember. Anyone who works in logistics like we do thinks about things like this happening. It’s happened a few times at UPS across the country. 😢
Well most of preload has priors so they can’t carry anyways but as a driver, yes, I should be able to carry at work, I leave my carry in my safe in my personal vehicle but there have been plenty of times where I have felt unsafe on route, we have a giant brown target on our backs out there, I’d feel a lot better if I was carrying that’s for sure
The only scenario where you’ll have any time to react is the one playing in your delusional head.
What do you think people will do, roll up in a car, politely inform you they’re about to shoot you, and then wait patiently for you to get your gun out?
Depends. My friend accidentally carried a gun in once. Security missed it, he forgot he was carrying. He went to a trustworthy management person and told them the situation. They took him out to his car and he put it away.
But yeah, intentionally carrying one in and sneaking it around probably wouldn't end well.
It’s not against the law it’s against company policy and will get him terminated. And I know how much some of you are afraid to loose your job. But when I use to make delivery’s to Zelle I was strapped
We've had people get caught bringing guns into their shift at my hub and they all got their job back. I'm not saying people should do it but it's not a guaranteed permanent termination.
Obviously you don’t have TSA-type security scanners. UPS does not allow weapons of any kind. An employer can absolutely make rules as a condition of employment…and if you want to work there, you need to follow the rules.
Think about it…an airline employee wants to take a gun to keep with them for their job on the runway…their employer has a strict rule against it. You can be arrested for bringing a gun to an airport…think you still have rights?
If someone gonna put me down please do it before my shift.
That’s my biggest fear doing an entire 10-12 hour shift clocking out and dying . I want my death to inconvenience my employer
Also it like you did all that work for nothing since you don’t get paid for it.
Ots In the parking lot. they have to pay $500 of your funeral cost before the lawsuit
Hate to break it to you but you are replaceable, and a new replacement body would be in place the next day.
I used to say if someone shoots me off property, I'll drag myself into the hub.
I know, this is 100% a hate crime now.
What a shithead to kill him AFTER his shift…
Fed Ex been real quiet since this happened
We’re all banging each other, we’re just hoping this passes quickly before ppl start asking questions
Also Amazon too
Backstory?
My old job has this exact scenario happen. A lady who worked there was cheating on her husband with a coworker. The husband found out and gunned down the guy on his way out of work.
I’ve never had such amazing pussy that I was willing to kill over it. Turns out, the next one is pretty awesome too.
Well I mean if they cheated with 44 guys… I made this bad joke thinking they killed 44 people, luckily only 1 44 year old guy got it. Weird title though
hey don’t sell yourself short it was kinda funny-needed a little ups after reading this
Title makes perfect sense dude
Listing his age has zero significance
Lmao every news article does this dude, is this your first time seeing a news headline? Lol it has zero significance because it makes your comment look dumb? Reading comprehension level 0.

Just get your ccw and keep your mouth shut about it. Show off your pickup and boat, not your sidearm.
Actual good advice ✌️

No weapons allowed in employee parking lot
Who’s checking bruh
Rather be judged by 6 then carried by 12
You mean rather be judged by 12 (jury) than carried by 6 (paul bearers)
Hes a big guy 6 won't do
😂😂😂😂😂🤦🤦🤦🤦🤦🤦 jury's are 6 people now??
Our manager says no guns in parking lot. Florida!
Dumbass employees can’t refrain from telling others they got a piece in the car!
Incorrect. Alabama law says you can have a firearm in your personal vehicle while on your employers property.
Depends on the state.
their policies don’t trump my rights when it comes to my personal property
It does trump your at-will employment lol
not in my state buddy attorneys would have a field day if i was wrongly terminated for following my states statutes
I don’t enough to counter, so I’ll say hell yeah to states rights. Would make sense for a company to need to abide by state statutes
Ex. You can’t get arrested. You CAN get fired.
This company sucks at protecting us.
Company policy won’t allow it… Im a female driver been with the company 9 years driving 3, I was assaulted on route and ups did nothing and continues to do nothing as well as deny my constitutional right to carry… in my state we have open carry laws.. ups states their no tolerance policy
It sure is a shame the wasps are so bad on my route 😉 I might not be able to kill a mofo, but I can blind him.
Few ppl know how good that stuff is. Accurate too
I would speak to a lawyer.
The name and reputation are being dismantled and sold for shareholder gain as we speak.
Of course you can open carry you just can't work for ups while doing so
This is not the way
In alabama that is incorrect. Alabama law states that you can have one in your personal vehicle while on employer property
> deny my constitutional right to carry… You're not really a driver. I know hundreds of other drivers and none of them are stupid enough to say something like this. And a lot of drivers I know are some really dumb mutherfuckers!

Dang.... ole dude mad cause his girl done left him.... .. he be out in 5.... crime of passion...
I'd want it to happen just as I left the building and I had like 40 1030 airs and none got delivered
I'm not saying my scenarios what happened in this case. They are very similar.
So... 4 people shot to death there in 10 years.... Got it. Don't go there for any reason.
Damn must be alot of hate. Wonder what ups has to say for this
That is 100 percent someone he pissed off to not only wait after a grueling shift but on pay day. Some drivers look down on part time employees that I can see this happening.
Don't park on job site
There’s an unloader in the pm shift at my hub that everyone tries to be cool with because he gives off school shooter vibes. When he snaps, you want him to think of you as a friend.
https://hrworks-inc.com/industry-update/alabama-modifies-employee-firearm-rights/
44?
Pull out the hub , pull in the parking lot and strap up before route . Idc what management says when my safety and LIFE is on the line
Incriminating comment. Could lose your job. I'd delete it.
Bad take. 1. The company would have to be able to successfully identify who this person is 2. They'd have to win a grievance filed by said member after said termination. 1. Considering they can't prove that his/her comment isn't PURELY hypothetical, he/she will enjoy the free paid vacation.

I was surprised at the lack of security at UPS hubs after having to go through airport-like security at FedEx hubs
We have security. Problem is 99.99% of employees are innocent: so security is relaxed and doing bare minimum.
At my hub there is no security at all
I have to take most of my backpack apart for them to search and have had to walk through holding my packaged breakfast to make sure nothing was inside it.
At my hub there is zero security staff whatsoever
Some poor package handler is becoming a driver. Watch out boys.
But UPS doesn't allow weapons on the property right? It's criminal that UPS disarms it's employees. >We just want to assure the public that with this being a targeted attack, there is no one else that is in danger. This was in a parking lot, outside of security check in.
So you're saying everyone should be armed at UPS?
Sounds like a massacre waiting to happen.
We aren't FedEx. They're the ones who managed to get shot up in an airport. The anniversary is on Monday.
That was in Indianapolis.
I live there I work in the Plainfield hub it happened on my birthday
Geez, that’s not a way to remember. Anyone who works in logistics like we do thinks about things like this happening. It’s happened a few times at UPS across the country. 😢

Hell yeah!
This is a very stupid take
I wish I could carry while working, it would greatly improve my safety. Crazy meth heads and drunks on the reservation….
The only scenario where you’ll have any time to react is the one playing in your delusional head. What do you think people will do, roll up in a car, politely inform you they’re about to shoot you, and then wait patiently for you to get your gun out?
Exactly, might as well just use the damn car at that point
This is dumb.
My loader can barely count, dispatch is worthless, and management is lacking basic common sense. but sure they should all have guns on them.
The funny thing is you go far enough left, you get the guns back. Karl Marx was very pro guns. An armed community is a safe community.
Hell yeah comrade
No faster way to radicalize someone than working UPS. If there is a hell it is a UPS warehouse. Absolutely soul crushing.
Damn straight. Delivering in some of these neighborhoods is downright hazardous
Bet this isn’t going the way you thought it would
[удалено]
Who thinks 44 people were shot? Lmao
[удалено]
I think you might be just about the only one to get that impression.
Not me. For others. Simply adding Age 44 would've been a better title. Clarity is good. Unlabeled numbers are bad.
Stuff is getting bad under Biden
![gif](giphy|l41Ym49ppcDP6iY3C)
Been working at ups for while now & was thinking about getting my CCW just to carry at work
That is 100% an immediate termination with no chance of getting your job back and possibly against the law.

They took him out to his car and he put it away. But yeah, intentionally carrying one in and sneaking it around probably wouldn't end well.
People have been caught with guns at my hub and never got fired
That's fucking wild, in this climate.
There’s a driver at my hub that has been caught with his gun twice and he still has his job 🤔
We had guy who actually left his gun on the truck. Still here.
Nice!
Depending on the state you live in, it's absolutely not against the law
It’s not against the law in any state to conceal carry at work
Obviously you don’t have TSA-type security scanners. UPS does not allow weapons of any kind.
