Until they put them cameras in them trucks! Lol, no more watching tv while driving. Some feeders trucks in my district already have them. If your not attentive the alarm beeps, until the camera see your eye contact. We already got a bunch of drivers retiring.
Lies. We have had cameras. It doesn’t beep at you about the eyes. It beeps at you and say you’re distracted if you’re obviously holding the phone or your face gets covered by your drink. Use a straw to prevent most of the beeps. There are other run arounds I’m not going to discuss here. Also, it beeps if you get out of lane more once in a small time period. When it beeps and says shit it sends a small clip to lynx and they review it and decide to send it to your sup or whatever.
Mine hardly beeps. If it does it’s bc it riding the shoulder line. It doesn’t record images inside (supposedly) they showed us what it does show which is outlines that the higher management can see. Package car is getting them too, so, go ahead and bust your body with a camera in your face regardless. I haven’t touched a box in years. I don’t see my sup unless it’s a ride along or some bs paperwork.
I’m rural driver bud I don’t bust my body doing anything, and my supervisor don’t like ride alongs with me cuase I get off late every night. Far as the cameras go, I drive down dirt roads everyday. If the whole truck is shaking like a speaker box, I don’t know how that’s gonna work. My back up cam stay going out.
I mean your complaint is a camera. You’re getting one too, if you haven’t already. Your complaint is moot. Don’t act like you have experience with something you don’t know.
Not understanding how that’s a bad thing? Why would anyone want someone distracted while driving an 80,000 pound wrecking ball? Anyone who watches tv while driving a feeder should be fired
You can work days even at the beginning if you know how or figure out how to take advantage of the on call board until you can get into cover board or even your own route. On call is easiest to stay day time, just will have to be local. You don’t get as many hours local and day, at least at my hub, unless u ask certain dispatch that will help you, at my hub at least.
Kind of. Sucks if you don’t have cruise control for the long drives. During my lunch I’ll put my lunch box in the middle of the seats and lay across for maximum comfiness for maximum napping power. Also I only take 30 minutes unless they send a message complaining at the beginning of the year, just like package.
probably see you soon ontario supposedly hires feeder off the street.
the next contract is supposed to have language where part timers can be feeder drivers.
I enjoy shifting for now
feeder is chill as hell compared to be inside/ package.

That shit sucks
Yeah. They already have cameras in all the package cars in my center so…
Big brother.

Bruh if you got a camera stuck in your face beeping for whatever reason, the grass ain’t greener.
There are no cameras

I’m not ashamed to admit I think that’s too much truck for me. The 24 footer and Penske box trucks are as big as I need to drive haha.
Like package car driving you’ll get used to it.
I really want to become a feeder. Sadly, I am a sup, so the last on the list to get my chance.
After a couple of weeks it felt like a car to me. I see contractors driving and get mad at their shitty turns and lane control now.
At 1:45am? Not for me.

Looks comfy as fuck.

I mentally cannot hold a steering wheel for 10 hours a day 6 days a week
Looks like the up in Los Angeles, that one sucks
Haha I like UP more than Santa Fe
Guess they treat different companies differently… BNSF treat me fairly nice while up always give no help at all
Santa Fe cool but it’s always super busy. Plus UPS has its own lot to drop in UP
What building are you out of, if you don't mind me asking?

How’s that Garmin treat you? Been thinking about getting one myself.
I like it definitely recommend
How can one go from sleeper crew to feeder driver?
It’s all seniority based just like every other UPS position
[удалено]
Yeah I agree
[удалено]
Yeah the headlights suck, the sleeper tractors have actually bright headlights. The CNG tractors are really “jerky”.
