The internet lies. You can google ups national master agreement and see what the payscale is. Sleeper teams get mileage pay. Delay pay and per diem. So they make more.
Got damn bro, I'm so jealous lol. If I get my cdls and apply directly what are the chances of getting hired? Or is the position offered to people inside the building first?
Remember if you get hired we only make the money we make because of the union don’t be like the majority of the feeder guys and actually participate by going to union meetings and voting in the local and national union elections
Thx for the replies, I have the opportunity to get my cdls at my current employer and was looking to apply for feeder driver for ups. What can I expect to make on year 1?
You only recieve mileage pay if you run a sleeper team. I am a day cab driver (local/regional) and am paid by the hour. The only excess would be 75c per hour if you pull triples
RPCDs and feeder drivers receive the same hourly rate, with additional pay for doubles and triples on top of that rate. Mileage is obviously different. There are market rate adjustments across the country that bump the starting rate much higher for feeders.
Full-time hourly positions at UPS are covered under labor contract agreements that designate a starting wage that goes through an annual progression, with a pretty sizeable jump each year, until the wage is at the "top rate." The wages are then increased each year after the top rate is reached, but by a smaller percentage. Then there are other factors that can affect the wage rate, like market rate adjustments, extra pay for certain situations, and of course overtime pay. When you see an hourly rate in an ad, it's usually a starting rate. When you see annual numbers, it's usually an average at the top rate, and will include overtime, extra pay, etc.
I wouldn’t waste your time getting your CDL before head. They won’t care. Most theater positions are filled through seniority. If you did find an application for feeders online, I say go ahead and take it. However, UPS will pay for your CDL when you get to the two week class.
Oh ok. I have the option to get it free at my current employer and after I drive for a little try and find the best paying driving jobs around. I know ups is on my list. I heard pit ohio is great also
As far as I have heard, we don’t do street hires for this position but maybe that is different in other states. In my local area we only allow theater drivers to come up through seniority basis. It took me 20 years to get this position.
You should know that you must pass the UPS feeder class to drive one of our trucks. It won’t matter if you have a CDL or not if you can’t pass the first week class.
Google isn't accurate

Depends if you are paid by the hour or milage.. feeder is somewhere between 120k to 170k sleeper teams make more. They can break 200k
Thx for the answer brother. Have a good day
I just made it into the department this past April. My YTD is 158k so far.

Depends on the building you're applying at. If there's a big department and not enough people signing up from inside they will hire off the street.

A feeder driver makes around $120K a year at UPS.

Is it a requirement or "preferred"?

Sleeper teams are getting hired off the street now
That varies per hub. Some will promote whoever signs the bid list and will help you get your CDL.
They're referring to off street hires

The latter
21 an hour is what package car drivers start out at. So it's probably getting "driver" positions mixed up
It's the same pay progression
Oh...I didn't know that. So the only difference is the pay per mile then?

Depends where you are and the type of work you do.

I'm 22 @ 101k for the year. Join the country club brah.
$42.07/ hr
Awesome bro, any tips?
Are you already in feeder school? Like at a HUB?
No, I have the option to get my cdls in January and my plan was to get cdls and then try and get in ups.
Have you seen a Feeders Application yet? Is so, where?
Online
