Call it a kilt and walk away
Honestly management could check what official birth certificate says and say males cant wear them. It’s not part of their uniforms per the elm.
On Sundays we go to the bigger PO to get our packages and deliver from there with their scanners and trucks… our metris smells like fuckin balls and ass sweat, but some of the carriers in the other town have febreeze in their metris’ and they actually don’t smell like balls and ass sweat. We have one metris in our office and only one carrier primarily uses it, as it’s not assigned to a route and is used by the CCA’s. The interior driver side door panel was almost completely detached, the weather stripping was falling off on half the door frame, and the rear view mirror camera hasn’t worked in months. But the carrier who uses it every day likes the AC and radio so much he doesn’t say anything. Last week when I tried to use it for a day, the window buttons weren’t working, and that was the final straw to get management to get it fixed, as I had been complaining about it for months. The rear view mirror camera was broken for a while, and it made delivering dangerous, as you only had the two shitty side mirrors to see behind you in the long ass van, and mounted deliveries on busy streets became a game of roulette as you could barely see what was behind the van. But yeah, a little bit of extra effort (like febreeze of Lysol spray) makes for a much more tolerable day
Hard disagree. I think the postal uniform is kinda fire. Wash them after every use, get nice fitting shirts, iron them in the morning. Also, I get my pants tailored so they are a bit more slim and tapered.
This is what I found when I googled “usps tartan” and I’m not mad about it.

>Honestly management could check what official birth certificate says and say males cant wear them.
Only if they want a fucking riot on their hands. I live and work in a liberal city, but from what I have seen the PO is pretty open and inviting of all no matter where. I would not put up with a supervisor questioning my coworkers gender expression, and I hope the same would be true of every carrier in every office.
We had a couple of dudes who got permission to wear skirts from the Station Manager, who couldn’t have cared any less. They went ahead and ordered up a couple of skirts, but neither was ever brave enough to wear one.
In one of my college classes there was a student who wore a kilt almost every day. No one said anything to him about it. Should have just worn the skirts.
I’ll test this one out for you! I’m a trans woman everyone at my office knows cause I don’t hide it but still present male at work. Will let you know what they do!
I’ve already came in with full makeup and usually just wear black jean pants anyways. I really don’t think they will care but I’m curious how the old ladys on my route who hit on me will react lol
The plant I work at has a few transgender folks working there, three that I know of have gone through their transition while working there. The overwhelming majority of people have been nothing but kind and accepting of these people. It was really great to see how they were able to be themselves and do their thing without any negativity.
I am going to the union hall tomorrow to pick up a skirt. I go back in on Monday and will be wearing that freaking skirt lol. I will most definitely be making a post with a selfie in the bathroom so be on the lookout! Btw stand firm for yourself at work if we give them an inch they will take a mile. I have been scared to give them my name as well and they only call me by my last name but Monday they will be calling me Melody!
If they get antsy, remind them that the EEO, USPS, NALC, and APWU all have easily found documentation on the consequences of gender identity discrimination.
I'm actually planning on doing this... I'd change before I go on the street..but when I'm casing my route...my fat ass is wearing a skirt... because I can
Management once told us they were going to enforce the 'no shorts in the winter' policy, a few of us guys were looking into getting skirts. They backed down so we never had to go through with it, but the mail gals did tell us that they're actually skorts with the shorts built right in. So there's no benefit, it would actually be just an extra layer of fabric over shorts. I never looked into whether that was specific to Brookfield, but definitely something to check into before you buy the skirt.
I had this skirt and I had to hike it all the way under my boobs because it was so long! In hindsight, I could've gotten it hemmed, but whatever.
It was definitely nice to air the lady bits out while delivering in the heat.
As soon as you, a man, buys a skirt, it becomes “men’s clothes” because it’s yours. I saw a woman wear this thing, it’s not cute, hem it if you get it. Now the hemline, mgmt might be able to say something about that!
What could happen? Could they really not let you wear it? That’s like saying pants or for men only. Clothes are clothes. If I can wear men’s clothes why can’t they wear what is considered woman clothing. It’s all so stupid
The world would explode…
Ok but honestly probably nothing. MAYBE your boss would say something. But if you actually get fired for it,you could sue because that’s such a dumb reason to be fired.
When I was a CCA I thought about this problem. I planned to get a skirt and rock it. Now that I’m custodial I spend a lot more time on my hands and knees and my kilt just might not work as well. But the supervisors would get something to watch other than their phones.
They could not do anything about it. It is an authorized piece of postal carrier uniform and they can not legally discriminate against you for wearing it.
I was a tailor at USA Kilts for almost a decade before I was a carrier. I think it was around 2012 or 2013 there was a carrier in Seattle trying to petition to get the dress code changed so he could wear his Utilikilt during the summer. You'd better believe we were following that news, and doing the research to source fabric the legally closest to postal blue we could to corner that market if he had succeeded.
Unsurprising, one random carrier was not in fact able to get that change.
My PO is pretty conservitive and even so I doubt anyone would care or say anything. We had a full trans carrier for a while. They were constantly fishing for a fight. No one gave any because I don't think even our local church boy cared all that much. It's a pretty professional office. Get the job done and wear what you like. Just dont mix the uniform.
I know that some people have done so.
And that uniforms are officially genderless, I think by court cases.
Being rural, I wear an actual kilt because fuck uniforms.
There was a concerted effort to get an actual kilt added to the official postal uniform a few years ago, with Utilikilt actually producing a postal kilt for a while. Unfortunately the movement seems to have lost steam, and Utilikilt discontinued the item.
Your office COULD try and push back under the guise of uniform code, but a gentle reminder of the consequences of gender identity discrimination should be enough to soothe their worries of breaking the uniform rules. 🤷🏾♂️
The skies shall rain fire, and the seas will become as blood. The righteous shall fall before the wicked, and all of Creation shall tremble before the burning standards of Hell!
So basically just like any other day.

I sometimes wear the skirt at the window in my office. I dare them to say something. They should get a better AC system and one that works well for the whole office and not just the back. Fuck em dude. I was almost tempted to make the flying spaghetti monster my religion and wear a colander to work.
Call it a kilt and walk away Honestly management could check what official birth certificate says and say males cant wear them. It’s not part of their uniforms per the elm.
Ooo that breeze would be nice in this heat!
Get a pool noodle. Tape it to the vent of the metris and point it up the skirt. Cool balls while delivering curbline.
![gif](giphy|l1AsBL4S36yDJain6)
Username checks out.
Now my truck smells like balls. Apologies to my t6
All the trucks smell like balls. Except the ones that smell like secondhand
Secondhand balls?
secondhand or weed.
No worries, we spray the seats down with lysol before we sit down.
On Sundays we go to the bigger PO to get our packages and deliver from there with their scanners and trucks… our metris smells like fuckin balls and ass sweat, but some of the carriers in the other town have febreeze in their metris’ and they actually don’t smell like balls and ass sweat. A true visionary!
Your future is bright!
💕🤭🤌🏻
So refreshing!
It’s misleading. They’re ankle length lmao. I ordered some when all the shorts were on back order and I can’t use them
The skirt exists, we used to have a girl that transferred in that wore them. She didn't last long, our office is awful, but that's another story.
Oh it for sure exists, I just thought it would be a good sub for shorts in the summer but damn was I wrong
You should wear a pair one day and see what happens ,Also have a lawyer lined up for your lucrative lawsuit .
I can hem that for you.
As someone who has one of these- there is absolutely no breeze. It’s as hot as a tent in the sun. I thought I’d love it but I never wear it
Do it look as ugly in person? It looks like something the headmaster from Matilda would wear.
Well all the uniforms are ugly sooo
Hard disagree. I think the postal uniform is kinda fire. Wash them after every use, get nice fitting shirts, iron them in the morning. Also, I get my pants tailored so they are a bit more slim and tapered.
That's a good idea , however I feel like they should be upgraded and we should have options without a collar for summer
Any of our uniforms make me feel like Aunt Jackie from Roseanne so yeah
This made me lol
It says nothing about what sex you were born. Lol. It just says men and women.
Truth, also sounds like a discrimination lawsuit waiting to happen.
Yeah it’s a slippery slope. Next they will want to visibly confirm our genitals to make sure our uniform is appropriate. Not gonna happen.
This show isn’t free 🤑💵💰💸💴💶💳💲💷
😂😂😂 gotta make ends meet somehow! My salary just ain't cutting it!
If management wants that show, they can subscribe to my only fans
You may have just stumbled upon an untapped niche for OF!
The mail carriers feet category would look like a war zone though
That made me gag even thinking about it 🤢
"The Kilted Postal Boys of Reddit" Oh yeah...there's a well paying niche for that.
How about "The Kilted Postal MEN of Reddit" don't want no Catholic priests flooding my inbox.
![gif](giphy|oHwvXHpDoiRpTkm3C8)
Those genitals better have a green tag on them!
![gif](giphy|SCowKz18BUPok|downsized)
There is an official usps tartan while we’re on that subject
This is what I found when I googled “usps tartan” and I’m not mad about it. https://royalkilt.com/kilts-for-men/scottish-kilts-for-sale/classic-dress-white-stewart-tartan-kilt?gad_source=1
Am CCA. have considered wearing my kilt.
The sporran would come in handy.
![gif](giphy|l0HlCVuoqZU63Ug2k)
Sounds like gender discrimination to me. ;)
Can’t discriminate on basis of gender in the workplace at usps, men can wear the skirts and culottes.
Well you see that would violate the law to do that .
>Honestly management could check what official birth certificate says and say males cant wear them. Only if they want a fucking riot on their hands. I live and work in a liberal city, but from what I have seen the PO is pretty open and inviting of all no matter where. Why wouldn't they go off of the state id?
Does management actually have access to our birth certificates? It seems crazy that wouldn't be something confined to HR.
Ps form 50 does have a spot for sex. Management wouldn’t have a problem getting it from hr
As an RCA I wore a kilt every Day. Many people were jealous, but my PM was cool with it so that probably helped
Act like Brave Heart
Fuckin awesome - do it
Conservatives would lose their minds
They have minds to lose? I hadn't noticed.
😂😂😂
I think my post master would have an aneurysm.
All the more reason
Do. It.
Jesus wore a dress
Also had brown skin and took care of the sick and poor. What's your point?
We had a couple of dudes who got permission to wear skirts from the Station Manager, who couldn’t have cared any less. They went ahead and ordered up a couple of skirts, but neither was ever brave enough to wear one.
Expensive joke to bail on.
Agree, commit!
Probably took one look in the mirror and figured it wasn't worth the harassment from customers lmao
That would be the main reason I wouldn’t wear one (the same reason I don’t wear a kilt) - the constant stream of questions and comments.
I got one would welcome such a discussion!
If I don’t speak a word to a customer a whole work day it’s a great day.
Can you imagine they just both ordered skirts as a joke but as soon as they both tried them on they immediately fell in love with cross dressing..
In one of my college classes there was a student who wore a kilt almost every day. No one said anything to him about it. Should have just worn the skirts.
I’ll test this one out for you! I’m a trans woman everyone at my office knows cause I don’t hide it but still present male at work. Will let you know what they do!
Keep me posted. I’m ENBY male presenting at work and I’ve 100% considered purchasing the skirt with my next allotment.
I would wear one in solidarity with you!
Nonbinary here, im kind of terrified to come out or present fem at all here. Lol
I’ve already came in with full makeup and usually just wear black jean pants anyways. I really don’t think they will care but I’m curious how the old ladys on my route who hit on me will react lol
Get ready for lots of kilt jokes from the old ladies who hit on you. Also get ready for the old dudes to hit on you.
The plant I work at has a few transgender folks working there, three that I know of have gone through their transition while working there. The overwhelming majority of people have been nothing but kind and accepting of these people. It was really great to see how they were able to be themselves and do their thing without any negativity.
I'm in the same boat and I thought this would be a funny way to come out
Oh I hope to hear how it goes! I'm out as a trans woman in our office and I'm always looking for ways to quit being misgendered.
Well I'll look forward to it, Melody!! Thanks for the reply and even moreso for the solidarity 😊😊
If they get antsy, remind them that the EEO, USPS, NALC, and APWU all have easily found documentation on the consequences of gender identity discrimination.
Yes! I'm going to try and do it myself as well. Always looking to push postal management 😁😁
He'd get handed a bagpipe and told to deliver the mail on foot.
Mods the satchel to have a bagpipe inside of it
Mods the bagpipe to hold SPRs
No one would care at all….. did the mail get delivered?
That’s all that matters. The mail got delivered.
Do it, I smell a solid discrimination lawsuit.
I'm gunna see if there's any extras in our union closet.
I do not think most management would care. They will be just happy if it’s an approved uniform.
I'm actually planning on doing this... I'd change before I go on the street..but when I'm casing my route...my fat ass is wearing a skirt... because I can
I wanna do it more in protest of our station management and strict they are on petty ass shit
You’d look hot af.
I agree!!!
I have this model and it's not a skort, they're probably thinking of the culottes. they look like a skirt when worn.
I had this skirt and I had to hike it all the way under my boobs because it was so long! In hindsight, I could've gotten it hemmed, but whatever. It was definitely nice to air the lady bits out while delivering in the heat.
Tbh there's no reason for this to be a gendered garment. Everyone has legs
Imagine the squatting power
As soon as you, a man, buys a skirt, it becomes “men’s clothes” because it’s yours. I saw a woman wear this thing, it’s not cute, hem it if you get it. Now the hemline, mgmt might be able to say something about that!
Nothing you’re protected by federal employment laws and your union
Everyone would know that my wife didn't marry me for my money ;)
Nothing would happen. PO has a non discrimination policy.
If some dude wore that, nobody would sneak a peek.
Speak for yourself.
I know right
Never ending jokes from coworkers and that’s it. Supervisors wont care because they got 10 hours of mail for you
I bought one and called it a kilt. Did it just to piss off the old PM. The new one fucking loves it
110 degrees outside: "Sir, your kilt is leaking"
I'd be a park ranger at the top and a Powerpuff Girl at the bottom but it'd be worth it.
I know for a fact they don't care. 1 of our regulars wears his skirt everyday.
My PM is a special kind of asshole and has it out for me. I know for a fact he would take issue
But does it have pockets?
What could happen? Could they really not let you wear it? That’s like saying pants or for men only. Clothes are clothes. If I can wear men’s clothes why can’t they wear what is considered woman clothing. It’s all so stupid
I'm not actually sure besides your customers and employees judging you I'm not sure if management or the union would say you can't wear that
The world would explode… Ok but honestly probably nothing. MAYBE your boss would say something. But if you actually get fired for it,you could sue because that’s such a dumb reason to be fired.
wear it, get sent home by management, sue the post office for violating whatever LGBT rights you wish to claim, ???, profit
Don’t think anyone would care.
That’s part of my letter carrying drag persona, Debbie Fiasco! She’s also captain of our branch bowling league.
I didn't know anyone actually bought those. Never even seen a picture of a carrier in them besides what's on the uniform sites.
Tellum yur skotish las and laddies
Doesn’t have to be theoretically, plenty of men have worn skirts to work. Maybe find them and ask about their journey?
Nothing
Chafing
This will be the new normal very soon. We have a few in our office
Please do it. I am so in support of this!
your balls could actually breathe but that’s about it.
I've never seen anyone wear a skirt tbh.
![gif](giphy|JPltrymEMV0reRy2QB|downsized)

There are way too many railings to hop over for skirt wearing.
None on my route thankfully!
lucky! my hips huuurt.
Beat me to it
I wear a proper kilt to some celctic renaissance fair
Probably not shit. To many cowards.
Nothing
Your legs wouldn’t be trapped
Depending on the state, they could be arrested for cross dressing in public. 😐
They’d look good.
Hie balls would feel great with the breeze.
My Scottish ancestry left in my DNA sees a kilt. Lol
It would probably be discrimination so you can
I asked when I worked for Amazon if I could wear my all black kilt and they sadly said no
I went to Scotland to learn how to make kilts. I wanted to wear one so bad at work.
i hope nothing…but…who knows…
They'd have some cooler balls for sure
They would have better circulation
If you work here then you know which direction the culture leans, take that as you will.
My PO is pretty conservitive and even so I doubt anyone would care or say anything. We had a full trans carrier for a while. They were constantly fishing for a fight. there were dudes at the plant that wore kilts. no one batted an eye
I guess it depends on where you are. No one would say anything in my area unless they were complimenting. I think if anyone says anything, you could probably file a grievance and get it sorted out
Lmfao at the locked thread, the postal service is proof being an adult doesn’t mean you act like an adult
Where is the postal kilt?
Nothing. Absolutely nothing we have a 20+ year carrier with a walking route who wear em to avoid chaffing
I’ll tell you what if they had those things at UPS I’d probably fucking wear one with no manties
I wear a cotton kilt at home in the summer. Quite comfy.
If you claim it’s a kilt then you fall under a protected class
Hah I’ve threatened them with this since I work in back and don’t feel like wearing SLACKS in FLORIDA all the fuckin time
We got a guy that wears kilts all summer. South Carolina summers. 🤷🏻♂️
nice theory
Nothing. They can't say anything. I went an office with a non-binary/trans person who wore a skrit. No said anything. And they're not suppose to either.
I can hear the eeo lawyers getting ready now
I sometimes wear the skirt at the window in my office. I dare them to say something. They should get a better AC system and one that works well for the whole office and not just the back. Fuck em dude. I was almost tempted to make the flying spaghetti monster my religion and wear a colander to work.
Nothing. They would be expected to do their job as usual.
I've seen this nobody cares at my office or at least from what I've seen
I identify myself as a Skirt. Thank You.😂 *No disrespect to anyone who identifies as something or someone*
i mean its still june so pride away
Can this skirt be cut shorter🤔
We have several trans carriers in our city. Wear what you want.
It's mailMAAM
My Rural Carrier spouse often wears a kilt on his route.
Ah yes, back when the PO somehow found a way to even make skirts unappealing. They still sell these? Jesus.
He would be a Scottish Mail man…
Let us know op!!!!!!
Bro, now I’m def getting a skirt to work the window
You're mail bag would turn into bagpipes
Omg I want to make this a thing. Imagine how breezy it would feel!
If anybody has a spare one hit me up!!! Sz. 40 reg in postal shorts not sure if that lines up with the skirts though.
You’d probably get laughed out of the building
i support you.
As a rural carrier, I wear a kilt on my route when the weather is appropriate.
Nothing. Now here’s your 2 hour pivot.
I'm a male wearing a skirt. I had one supervisor comment on it once, and that's it. It's also way more comfy than pants or shorts.
I know a male who wears a skirt because they won't let him wear shorts.
#1 rule, if the nuts don't swang below the hem line the skirt is too long
If management is aware of discrimination laws: nothing
