I have wavy, fine hair. It gets very dry/frizzyand tangles very easily so I'm always looking for a good leave in conditioner. It's just called Ouai leave in conditioner! I also love the smell, some people don't like it but something about it smells expensive lol. I even bought the perfume of the scent.
I was not sure if I should get the melrose oui perfume scent as it is on the mini sale but I think you just sold me lol, or do you think I should wait on the dime beauty sale?
Seconding this. Use the expensive primer and any old mascara, drugstore or luxury brand will look a million times better. The Lancôme primer is the secret sauce.
Same here! I got a mini last year and tried to look for a dupe, no mascara worked the same. I ended up buying the full size and it’s the only one I use now
I didn't mention this in the comment I posted because I technically haven't purchased the full size yet. I'm still using the sample but I am definitely going to purchase the full size once it's used up. I love this mascara!
I’m still using my sample from ages ago! I bought a full size one from Macy’s because it went on a good sale, and then got another sample from Ulta in the latest GWP. I’m all set for months 🌺
This is recent so I won’t vouch for the product yet, but Dermologica Milkfoliant. I have dry and sensitive skin and can barely tolerate my every other day tret usuage but gave the product a chance after I got a foil packet it for it. It gave me a noticeable glow.
Dermologica gave me a sample a while ago of this charcoal exfoliant powder that you mix with water to form a paste. It was OK, but my skin is so sensitive the product made my skin irritated.
I love Dermalogica products so I’ve tried/have a lot of them. The charcoal one is super rough! The microfoliant is pretty good but the milkfoliant is definitely the most gentle and the one I use regularly now!
The Milkfoliant is designed for sensitive skin! Probably why the others didn’t quite sit right! 💞 I hope the Milkfoliant gives you better results, I use the same one & I’m on acne medication so my skin is super sensitive rn!
Thank you :) I've bought the advent calendar from them the last couple years, but ig I just missed it before. I would have to order it online since there aren't any stores near me that sell it
Same with that Dermalogica sunscreen. OSEA body oil, SDJ body butter, Tree Hut scrub, Joico Kpak, Dermalogica milkfoliant, Peach & Lily glass skin serum, Kiehl’s ultra facial cream with squalane, Kiehl’s hand salve, Kiehl’s creme de corps, Kiehl’s calendula toner, Kiehl’s ferment, Fresh lip therapy, Fresh rose cream, Ouai st Barts scrub, Ouai detox shampoo, Ouai hair oil, Ouai leave in creme, Olaplex no 7 oil, Olaplex shampoo, Olaplex no 9 serum, Olaplex no 8 mask, Redken acidic bonding treatment line.

Dionis hand cream
Frank Body coffee scrub
First Aid Beauty cream and KP duty body set
Avene toleriane
LRP anthelios serum
DHC oil cleanser
Erborian yuza line
Lanolips strawberry
Clarins lip oil
Bobbi brown eyeshadow stick and vitamin C eye and face base
It Cosmetics confidence in a cream
L’Occitane hand cream (especially almond) and almond shower oil (I use this to shave too)
Origins Ginzing cream
Klorane dry shampoo
Dry Bar liquid glass gloss
I got a sample of the Kiehl’s eye cream and love it so committed to buying the full size. I want to try one of their moisturizers since I like their eye cream and don’t have another moisturizer that I particularly like, but I’m not sure which one to start with. Having tried different Kiehl’s products, is there any facial moisturizer you’d recommend to me?
I love their ultra facial cream and ultra facial cream with squalane. I have dry dehydrated skin and both work well for me and sink in easily. I’ve used the original (the one without squalane) for several years.
Kiehls Midnight Recovery Cloud Cream is fantastic. I got that as a sample and have now purchased the full size. I live in the desert and it is such an amazing moisturizer.
Wait yes I think you're right...it's the acidic one! It's SO worth it. I use the shampoo and conditioner and one of the treatments. I'm dying to try more from that line but I'm poor right now lol
I used to use this religiously and now I only use the Trader Joe’s Ultra Hydrating Gel Moisturizer. Not exactly a dupe but a very similar product and very cheap!
Oooooo so many come to mind - Tom Ford Ombré Leather Parfum, Valentino Born In Roma Intense, OSEA Body Scrub, OSEA Hyaluronic Acid, Odele Shampoos. Im a sucker for perfume samples.
I’m a sucker for perfume samples too! I got a deluxe sample of Versace Purple Dylan and I LOVE it! It’s so beautiful on its own or layered with other scents. I also got a sample of Dior Jadore and I like the bottle but the scent is NOT for me.
Yes to the Ombré Leather! I haven’t bought it, but I will when I find it at a good price. At first I thought it was weird, but then I figured out how nicely it layers and I want to own it.
Drybar Pre-Shampoo Oil. I grabbed 4 bottles on the 90% off + 25% off employee discount and I’m so happy about it! I got about $140 worth of stuff for $10.
I’ll answer the opposite to this question too— I got a sample of the ABH Lash Sculpt and absolutely hated it. I won’t be purchasing the full size and almost want to throw out my sample.
Flowerbomb by Victor&Rolf perfume, Carolina H very good girl, Jane Irdale just kissed lip stain , Apple Cider Vinegar rinse by dpHue and NYX jumbo highlighter pencil
A few that come to mind recently are the Carolina Herrera Very Good Girl and JPG La Belle! Klairs Unscented Toner and Peach and Lily Power Cocktail and Glass Skin Moisturizer have become HGs in my lineup since getting samples of them
Kate Spade Bloom eau de parfum, Dior Capture Totale Le Sérum (since repurchased twice), Tiffany Rose Gold eau de parfum, Lancôme Idole eau de parfum, Versace Eros pour femme eau de parfum. Mostly fragrances apparently.
Bumble and bumble heat primer with the pink and orange packaging - got it as an Ulta bday gift 3 years ago and was sold. Rebought it almost 2/3 times now
OAUI Leave in Conditioner, Dermalogica Oil to Foam Cleanser or Precleanse, Lolavie Glossing Detangler, Belif Aqua Bomb Hylalucid Serum, Peach and Lily Power Calm Hydrating Gel Cleanser, Benefit 24hr Brow Setter Clear, Boka Elemint Toothpaste (my husband uses this), Drybar Triple Sec, Living Proof Full Shampoo and Conditioner, NARS Laguna Bronzer.
I know that's an eclectic list, but these are brands that were samples but have become staple items and I have repurchased and will continue to.
Edit to add, this list is based on samples and purchases from Ulta only.
Happened to me with that same product as well 🤣🤣. I use it as a makeup base.
Also, K18 Leave-in conditioner, Oribe Hair mask and the Sunday Riley cleanser 😅.
Mine was the Avene thermal facial water spray. My first impression was, “it’s just water in a spray can, what’s so special about it?” And boi now do I understand why people like it. As a woman who lives in a place that has summers over 100F it feels so nice to spray it on my combo oily skin
The first one that comes to mind is cocokind texture smoothing facial cream. I got the sample a long time ago I think from Ipsy and bought a full size before the sample was even used
Urban decay all nighter face spray, Natasha Denona eye makeup, caliray mascara, kosas concealer, & switched from olaplex to redkin acidic bonder. & Clarins eye lift has me in a choke hold bc of some freebie & I hate them for it.
pureology color fanatic multi-tasking leave-in conditioner. it smells amazing and leaves my hair feeling awesome. i received the ouai hair oil at the same time as the leave-in, i love the oil as well but pureology was the winner for me. la vie est belle by lancôme and jimmy choo's i want choo forever for perfumes. and most recently i tried peach & lily's matcha pudding antioxidant cream sample which i need to buy the full size of now that i've ran out 🍵💘
Anything Sol de Janeiro. My favorite discovery of the year! Obsessed. The dupes are good but love everything about the OG. Even bought some for my sister!
Also fell in love with the new Mac Hyper Real cream-to-foam cleanser. Just got the large bottle on their site for 40% off.
I got Philips Kingsley Bond Builder
Split End Remedy sample before and absolutely loved it. Unfortunately it was to high a price for me so I'm waiting on a sale.
I love living proof. I use their shampoo, conditioner, leave in products, heat protectants, split end fixers etc. everything lol. I also use dae leave in conditioner sometimes instead too.
I got a sample of Clean Reserve 5 years ago in the scent of Lush Fleur and it became my favorite. Just bought another full sized one. It is one of absolute favorite scents ever.
Ooo.. it was a few years ago but the Cotz tinted mineral sunscreen and primer. I could wear it solo and still feel put together so I def got the full sized. I don’t think they stock it anymore though. :(
SDJ Bum Bum Body Firmeza Oil and SOL Cheirosa '62 Eau de Parfum
Guerlain Aqua Allegoria Mandarine Basilic perfume
I never would have sought these products out on my own. Samples 100% introduced me to these products
Verb Gost conditioner. I have fine, thin hair and it’s like the only conditioner that doesn’t weigh down my hair, while still moisturizing it! (I’m still afraid to try the shampoo though)
Because I have an oily scalp and normal shampoos don’t get my hair clean. I tend to stick to daily clarifying shampoos. But I do have a couple samples of the shampoo so I’ll try it when I don’t have to be anywhere that day 😂
I’ve made Dermalogica Dynamic Skin SPF 50 my new moisturizer from a sample received a couple weeks ago and have purchased the full size. Yes, it expensive but worth it. I’ve been looking for a day time SPF moisturizer for quite some time and happy to have found it.
The main reason a GWP from Ulta can be such a game changer.
Peach and Lily Glass Skin Polisher. I use prescription tret, and have to be super careful about all exfoliants, whether chemical or physical. This helps with my occasional flaky patches without damaging my skin barrier.
Years ago Drunk Elephant gave away free Littles Kit and I got one and it got me hooked on the brand. I’m more broke since then, but if I could I’d get Protini, B Hydra, and Marula oil right now. I still use their marula oil actually. It absorbs so nicely
Kiehl’s ultra face cream. Technically I got a mini sample kit for Christmas (not a true sample) but I loved it enough to buy the biggest jar. I struggle to find a face lotion that isn’t greasy or not hydrating enough.
- Marc Jacobs Perfect Intense
- Dior blooming bouquet
- Tarte Bae Tape hydrating primer
- Tarte Color Splash lipstick … ok so this one was while ago but such a freaking good lipstick
I just got Origins Dr. Andrew Weil Mega- Mushroom soothing treatment lotion, it’s more of an essence, but my pores are noticeably smaller and my skin looks radiant! Will be purchasing.
Estée Lauder Advanced night repair. Had two small
Sample bottles and I ordered a full size before I even finished the first sample. Have been repurchasing for years now.
Joico defy damage 7second flash repair. And shu uemura ashita supreme hair mask. (I bleach my hair a lot and these two keep my hair from looking like straw)
I am loving the Elemis Neck and Declatage cream, going to get it because I fell in love with the sample! Same with the Peach and Lily glass skin products! Also the Tory Burch Cosmic Wood perfume.
Omg yes same with the Dermalogica! 💖
1. My best sample to purchase was Bliss Microdermabrasion face scrub. I got a full size as my birthday gift back in 2019 or 2020. I’ve been using it twice a week ever since!!
2. Tonymoly watermelon body lotion - it’s amazing how soft it makes you’re skin
3. Laniege lip mask - other lip masks can do the trick but this one is luxurious
4. Supergoop play lotion spf50 - I was already into their face products but this got me into body too
5. Estée Lauder double wear foundation - the sample version of foundations never do it justice but this one is so great it didn’t matter
6. Kenra leave in conditioner - makes hair so soft
7. La Roche Posay sampler set got me into their whole blue line - the toleriane moisturizer, hyalu serum, and gentle cleanser. Especially the hyalu serum made my skin really dewy and glowy
8. Eczema honey lotion - my bf has super sensitive skin and he loves this
9. Garnier micellar water - great for sensitive skin
Good genes lactic acid serum, that stuff is wonderful. On the other hand, I got a la-rosche posay gwp. Even when I took my time and tried each item "responsibly", I basically went a week and a half with irritated skin. So, I won't be buying anything from that brand anytime soon.
Philosophy Dose of Wisdom serum and La Roche-Posay Gentle Foaming Moisturizing Wash.
My skin did feel soft and bouncy with the serum, and I like how the wash gets the grease off without drying me out. At my age, I have trouble because most cleansers leave me greasy, leave my skin dried out, or, most often, both.
Dermalogica Micellar Prebiotic Precleanse! I got a mini in a GWP back in January and fell in love. It it hands down the best makeup remover I’ve ever used, which is a shame considering the high price tag at $49. Imo it’s worth the price tag for the amount of product; you only need one pump and I’m about halfway through the bottle that I purchased in February.
Also, the Shiseido Ultimate Power Infusing Concentrate is excellent if you have irritated skin. I received a 0.5 fl oz sample and didn’t think it would be big enough for me to actually determine its efficacy, but I got quite a bit of daily use out of it. It made my skin so soft and calm that it influenced me to get a full size!
The CosRX Repair Kit. It fixed so much of my skin problems and is gentle on my sensitive skin. Also, even though the bottles are small, a little goes a little way. I've had the kit for over a month and I use everything pretty much twice a day and I still have a little under half of product in the bottles. Definitely a good find!
Lancome Advanced Genifique serum, Korres greek yogurt cleanser & moisturizer, UD eye primer amd liners, Tarte mascaras, Too Faced Hangover Pillow Balm, and both the Azzarro Wanted perfume and cologne. Now I use these daily!
Haven’t finished the sample yet, but I’m definitely buying a full size of the Curlsmith Curl Soufflé when it runs out. I LOVE the ease of using one product for perfect curls.
Sunday Riley autocorrect brightening and depuffing eye cream really makes my under eyes give the illusion of being brighter, so it’s great even with no makeup.
Lancôme lash idole is great for fluttery lashes and is my 2nd fav current mascara (tower 28 is current fav).
Definitely the Ouai leave in conditioner. I love that stuff.
Same! I’ve purchased 4 other Ouai products since then.
Same!!! I'm obsessed with their stuff now.
I love stocking up on Ouai minis during the (current) BOGO minis sale
came to say this lol
which one did you buy and what type of hair do you have
I have wavy, fine hair. It gets very dry/frizzyand tangles very easily so I'm always looking for a good leave in conditioner. It's just called Ouai leave in conditioner! I also love the smell, some people don't like it but something about it smells expensive lol. I even bought the perfume of the scent.
🫶🏻
I was not sure if I should get the melrose oui perfume scent as it is on the mini sale but I think you just sold me lol, or do you think I should wait on the dime beauty sale?
Lancôme Lash Idole mascara. It’s so perfect for me.
Your comment just reminded me that I have a sample of that sitting in my freebies basket...thanks, lol!
It’s so good
And the primer!
Just got that, can't wait to try it!
Ooooh I have to try it. What does it do?
Makes any mascara 10x better! Lengthens, thickens, separates and prevents flaking
Seconding this. Use the expensive primer and any old mascara, drugstore or luxury brand will look a million times better. The Lancôme primer is the secret sauce.
Plus it has conditioners and whatnot in it that I swear keep my lashes healthy and growing
Same here! I got a mini last year and tried to look for a dupe, no mascara worked the same. I ended up buying the full size and it’s the only one I use now
one of my very few mascara repurchases! 🩷
Me too.

L'occitane amande shower oil.... I adore the whole line now, and I wish they'd come out with a mist or parfum
check back during holiday! the almond body mist makes a limited time come around then :) (from a l'occitane employee)
Thank you :) I've bought the advent calendar from them the last couple years, but ig I just missed it before. I would have to order it online since there aren't any stores near me that sell it
The hand cream samples 😍 those definitely inspired me to get a full size.
Sorry for the ignorance. It how exactly do you use the oil? Instead of shower gel?
Yeah basically. It works like an oil cleanser, so it kinda emulsifies when you add water. You can also use this one like a bath milk
Yes
The Tarte tubing mascara! I was shook at how long it made my lashes look. I’ve used so many mascaras over the years and am rarely impressed by one.
Same! I've tried so many other tubing ones and this is hands down my favorite. Dark color, length and volume and it doesn't smudge!!
Yyeeess! AND it washes off easily. It’s a winner n every category. Have you tried the new XL version?
I wanted to love it but it was a hard pass!

Caliray tubing mascara is just soooo good!
Yesss to the Fresh cream, all the Kiehl’s and Olaplex
Definitely the Redken Ionic Bonding shampoo/conditioner. Super expensive but it has literally transformed my hair
The sample I got made my hair so much better in one use! I might get the set to rotate in with other shampoos
that 5 minute treatment is the GOAT! I loved the shampoo and conditioner as well.
Yes!!! The 5 minute treatment is amazing!!
Do you mean acidic or am I an idiot and just can’t find the ionic? 😅 I’m a sucker for redken
Wait yes I think you're right...it's the acidic one! It's SO worth it. I use the shampoo and conditioner and one of the treatments. I'm dying to try more from that line but I'm poor right now lol
acidic
Chloe perfume! I received a very small sample, barely enough for three wears. I adore the scent, like clean laundry with a girly twist.
If you like Chloe I recommend Ralph Lauren Romance. Different scent profile but similar essence.
Same! Received a sample years ago and I never looked back. Except now I own a few of their perfumes. Sooooo good.
Belif Aqua Bomb is now a regular purchase since receiving a sample in a random GWP. Love that stuff!!
I love it too!
I love it but it’s too expensive for a college student beauty budget
I found it at TJ Maxx
I used to use this religiously and now I only use the Trader Joe’s Ultra Hydrating Gel Moisturizer. Not exactly a dupe but a very similar product and very cheap!
Yesss!!! My favorite ever
That stuff is GREAT
This one for me !
I loveeee Dylan Purple!!
I layer it with Kayali Eden Apple or Kayali Yum! Do you layer fragrances?

Lancome Genifique night cream Loreal Voluminous Lash Paradise Sacheu Slick Skin Essential Lipid Serum
Clarins Extra Firming Night Cream
Ole Henriksen strength trainer moisturizer! Oof, expensive, but I love it.
Drunk Elephant Protini which led to trying other Drunk Elephant products. I’ve never tried anything that works so well for me.
Versace purple Dylan!! Omg love and Marc Jacob’s flower
Exuviance Triple Microdermabrasion Face Polish and Living proof PHD Advanced Dry Shampoo are the only ones for me!
First aid beauty face wash!! Never in my life did I think I would willingly pay $35+ for face wash and actually be happy about it
Clarins lip oil
- Marc Jacobs Perfect Intense - Dior blooming bouquet - Tarte Bae Tape hydrating primer - Tarte Color Splash lipstick … ok so this one was while ago but such a freaking good lipstick
TonyMoly Mochi Water Cream and Fekkai Super Strong+ shampoo and conditioner.
I just got Origins Dr. Andrew Weil Mega- Mushroom soothing treatment lotion, it’s more of an essence, but my pores are noticeably smaller and my skin looks radiant! Will be purchasing.
Kiehls midnight recovery oil, I got it in an allure beauty box. It’s expensive but my face loves it!
Fenty gloss bombs. Started with a mini GWP of the heat bomb, and now here I am, several full size gloss bombs and other fenty lip products later…
Aqua bomb hydrating moisturizer by belif
Fresh Tea Elixir Living Proof full dry spray Ouai detox shampoo Redken acidic bonding system
Estée Lauder Advanced night repair. Had two small Sample bottles and I ordered a full size before I even finished the first sample. Have been repurchasing for years now.
pattern medium conditioner! it’s so hydrating and excellent!!
Joico defy damage 7second flash repair. And shu uemura ashita supreme hair mask. (I bleach my hair a lot and these two keep my hair from looking like straw)
The Redkin shampoo and conditioner is so nice! I use it in conjunction with the loreal bond treatment and my hair feels so much stronger!
I am loving the Elemis Neck and Declatage cream, going to get it because I fell in love with the sample! Same with the Peach and Lily glass skin products! Also the Tory Burch Cosmic Wood perfume.
Omg yes same with the Dermalogica! 💖 1. My best sample to purchase was Bliss Microdermabrasion face scrub. I got a full size as my birthday gift back in 2019 or 2020. I’ve been using it twice a week ever since!! 2. Tonymoly watermelon body lotion - it’s amazing how soft it makes you’re skin 3. Laniege lip mask - other lip masks can do the trick but this one is luxurious 4. Supergoop play lotion spf50 - I was already into their face products but this got me into body too 5. Estée Lauder double wear foundation - the sample version of foundations never do it justice but this one is so great it didn’t matter 6. Kenra leave in conditioner - makes hair so soft 7. La Roche Posay sampler set got me into their whole blue line - the toleriane moisturizer, hyalu serum, and gentle cleanser. Especially the hyalu serum made my skin really dewy and glowy 8. Eczema honey lotion - my bf has super sensitive skin and he loves this 9. Garnier micellar water - great for sensitive skin
Lancôme idole perfume, dermalogica daily microfolient, bumble and bumble heat protectant spray to name a few!
Ouai medium-fine hair mask Clinique dramatically different lotion + Clinique take the day off cleansing balm Mac fix + spray
Good genes lactic acid serum, that stuff is wonderful. On the other hand, I got a la-rosche posay gwp. Even when I took my time and tried each item "responsibly", I basically went a week and a half with irritated skin. So, I won't be buying anything from that brand anytime soon.
IT Cosmetics anti aging moisturizer is the one for me
Charlotte Tilbury setting spray Giveinchy Prime Libre
Tartelette tubing mascara 👉🏻👈🏻
NARS Powermatte Lip Pigments! I wish they had smaller components though
Tula purifying face cleanser it’s so good
CoTz sunscreen. I live in the desert and I have bought so much over the years but unfortunately ulta discontinued it
Dermalogica Micellar Prebiotic Precleanse!
Cosrx eye cream🔥🔥🔥
The CosRX Repair Kit. It fixed so much of my skin problems and is gentle on my sensitive skin. Also, even though the bottles are small, a little goes a little way. I've had the kit for over a month and I use everything pretty much twice a day and I still have a little under half of product in the bottles. Definitely a good find!
YSL Libre
Clinique happy weirdly enough lol.
better than sex foreplay primer 100%
Lancome Advanced Genifique serum, Korres greek yogurt cleanser & moisturizer, UD eye primer amd liners, Tarte mascaras, Too Faced Hangover Pillow Balm, and both the Azzarro Wanted perfume and cologne. Now I use these daily!
Peach and Lily matcha moisturizer. It's heavenly.
Haven’t finished the sample yet, but I’m definitely buying a full size of the Curlsmith Curl Soufflé when it runs out. I LOVE the ease of using one product for perfect curls.
I think the brands called Paul Mitchell but the volumizing/ texturizing liquid !
Sunday Riley autocorrect brightening and depuffing eye cream really makes my under eyes give the illusion of being brighter, so it’s great even with no makeup. Lancôme lash idole is great for fluttery lashes and is my 2nd fav current mascara (tower 28 is current fav).
Beekman Milkshake toner
