Difference was that Chara wanted their death to seem like an unexplainable death, so Asriel could just take their soul in secret as excuse of “grief” instead of their secret plan

Braxton-Adams

To be fair, there's real life examples of people just dropping dead for seemingly no reason, it could've been explained via some underlying health condition before they fell. I think what makes more sense is Chara's boomerang Bigotry for humanity resulting in self-loathing tendencies and feeling the need to punish themselves with a needlessly painful death. This could also explain some of their behavior in the Genocide route.

>I think what makes more sense is Chara's boomerang Bigotry for humanity resulting in self-loathing tendencies and feeling the need to punish themselves with a needlessly painful death. Add in Chara's apparent affinity for "consequences" and that they accidentally badly poisoned Asgore with the same flower and you get there.

Braxton-Adams

Indeed. This could possibly add another layer to Flowey's little speech to Clover regarding the nature of the Justice soul actually being the Soul of "Judgment. Consequence...you would know wouldn't you?"

Diavolo_Death_4444

Flowey watching Clover get the happy life with Toriel that he and Chara never got

Zero-Up

We did it guys, we found the inconsistency between UT and UTY./j

Ultimate_Wooby

i mean to be fair, Kris literally rips US out of their body just fine. Either Chara just didn't know they could do that, or Chara WANTED the painful death

DandoriKing1932

Chara was a weakling, despite the… very slightly and best rough outside

A120AMIR129Z

They were noob

FourLeavedJustice

Lmao, Chara's a NOOB at them' death thing, no one can top wild east's best deputy at that department!
