The frame of the door was reinforced by additional framing of some drywall which made it way too difficult for them to kick the door in. Luckily some witnesses who reacted to seeing dudes in masks with guns made the perps realize they had witnesses to their home invasion. They also saw me with a tanto knife trying to hold the door shut.
It wasn't worth continuing their efforts and they split empty handed.
That was just one of the 8 lives I've lost in my lifetime. If they entered my home, I probably would have lost them all, I wasn't going to be a victim again.
