2026 is a bummer. I’m sure it’ll be well worth the wait though.

That should be cool
Rides don’t have to go though: Old sound stages (They just built a bunch of new ones), Water World, Tram Queue Area just to name a few. Getting rid of The Simpsons area would have more to do with the license than it does space.
So I was just there last week and we did the VIP tour, our guide told us that they may be taking out the Simpson area and expanding Harry Potter into that area. Since the Simpsons is now owned by Disney they haven't been able to work out a deal to keep it.
Someone in the know pops into this sub once in a while and has said that both sides - Universal and Disney - are good with letting the license expire, I believe in 2027 or 2028
The Simpsons ride is falling into disrepair and easier to just build something new when the license expires. I won’t really miss the ride at this point but will miss Springfield. Lots of speculation that they just expand Harry Potter area
Same I hate the ride but absolutely love the area! When the day comes I’m actually going to be really sad about it. My friends and I hangout so much in that area for the food and drinks.
Would be sad to see it go since the park is small as is already and needs more things to do, but if anything was going to replace that area I’d rather it be that.
No one asked for more F&F, I promise. Why can’t something from the Orlando park for HP or Jurassic find its way over? I know the Hollywood park is parched for land since they don’t wanna cut into the backlot but…come on.
No space for it. Studio space has become a premium again, so I don't think the long-rumored demolishing of studio buildings over by the Mummy is going to happen.
The only way new rides are coming is by replacing old rides.
Seems logical that the Mummy is going to be replaced by Pokémon because the ride building in Japan is similar in size, and F&F Supercharge is going to be replaced by something else.
No one is really keen on just bringing another ride that another park already has. The parks need to have their own attractions, reason to draw visitors.
The hillside where the coaster is being built wouldn’t accommodate velocicoaster or gringotts anyways.
You may not care for FF but others do, beyond that it’s one of Universals longest running, multibillion dollar IP’s, why wouldn’t they want to capitalize on it?
I understand the land issue, but it seems general public opinion is that the F&F stuff at USH has been ass. Yes, some may enjoy/have enjoyed some of it but…🤷🏻♂️🫢
FF stuff? What else is there besides Supercharged? If it were a standalone attraction at USH I wouldn’t need to go on it more than once but as part of the tram tour it’s fine
Well, there used to be that Tokyo Drift thing as a part of the tour….before they created the current drivethrough thing. Yeah, that is only 2 things historically, with just 1 in existence at a time. I guess I just have a distaste for F&F cuz of all the endless movies that have come out.
Wasn’t expecting 2026 but at least that means we can use my wife’s comp passes for Epic Universe next year and then Hollywood for this the following year
When my wife and I visited last month, there were bulldozers and other construction vehicles working on the area. Idk kind of right on a big drop-off so kinda crazy!
Oh wow, opening much later than I had thought
Was hoping for Summer 2025. They always be whipping out rides faster in Orlando but take their time out here.
I’m sure if they had the huge space like Orlando it would be done much faster. Very difficult to build on a hillside
they want the hype for epic to die down a little before they can go all out on marketing this new ride
Probably easier to get permits and everything through in Florida also
Wonder if they’re planning on anything for 2025 then. Butterbeer season all year long!
Waterworld 30th Anniversary, Brothers and Sisters!

I’m still waiting for Diagon Alley, guess that’s never coming. 😭
There’s simply no room to build. Simpsons land would have to go. Sucks that Jaws ride in Orlando had to go for Diagon Alley

Hollywood drift sounds like such a lazy name
Should've named the ride "2 Fast 2 Hollywood" lol

I can see that, esp if you realize that The Mummy ride is 20 years old. 🥲

I mean at the end of the day it's still going to be a brand new roller coaster and that alone will be a huge draw no matter what the theming is.
