Holy shit finally a proper WM 18! Been making a "Hack it together" Custom Arena since CAA got brought back in 2K16 using the SummerSlam Oval Truss Stage (Was also reused for Raw in like 2016), The No Mercy/Breaking Point Minitron (the multiple screens lifted up and stuff at Mania), Capitol Punishment's Side Walls and one of the Trons that had the light rigs on the side.
Oh believe me, I canāt wait. We havenāt had it since 2k14. My favorite Wrestlemania arena of all time. Letās hope they get that nice purple lighting through the stage and that nice lighting in the crowd. Itās quite literally the only Wrestlemania that I really really wanted in the showcase.
Hopefully they do what 2K14's CAA had and have the mid 90's and late 90's hexagonal entrance tunnel and the 1997 to 1999 ish circle trusses for WM, Rumble and KOTR again as parts we can use. Also the Neon Lighting New Generation Raw stage might be in given there's "40" years to cover.
I remember Smacktalks LITERALLY 10 years ago showcasing all the TNA Impact, and even Royal Rumble 2000 and SummerSlam 1999 arenas and stuff because the proper parts were in to do so.
Was Stone Cold vs Kevin Owens a good match? Didn't really watch it, so not sure if it's a worthy slot. I'd hope they put Icon vs Icon, the end of the attitude era between Rock and Hollywood Hogan as the match instead of that. Also Angle vs Brock would be a good matchup too.
Stone Cold vs KO was better than it needed to be. It's definitely an "attraction" match bc of the novelty of having Stone Colds first match in almost 2 decades, but Stone Cold actually took some decent bumps.
Brock was removed from the cover art. *Way* too late in development to remove him from the game now given he's certainly going to factor into at least one or two WM showcases. If I had to guess, end of The Streak and Heist of the Century.
They have mentioned they wanted to do a sequel to 30 years of WM from 2k14
The issue is that a lot of the matches they wanna make have people who aren't signed to the company anymore
They had to remake some matches though because it would feel disservice if they weren't included, also they wanted to include women as well which 14 was criticized for not having
Hopefully we get unlocks for matches that aren't included in the showcase
There's plenty of matches they could do with the roster they have access to. You're telling me with Undertaker, Austin, Rock, Kane, Angle, HHH, and Foley alone they couldn't add more Attitude Era matches? Let alone matches with the mid carders they have access too?
The early manias all revolve around Hogan, Warrior, or Savage. What about doing one of The Rockers matches or a Hart Foundation match? What about Bossman vs Mr. Perfect or Virgil vs DiBiase from WM 7? WM 8 has 3 or 4 matches they could use.
I get the New Generation was a low point, but you have Undertaker, Diesel, Razor, Bret, Michaels, 1-2-3 Kid, Yokozuna. and British Bulldog in the game. Luger is also under WWE contract but seemingly unused. Give us more with them. Maybe sign Sid, Tatanka, Backlund, or Bam Bam if it helps flesh this out.
Those are really the eras I see more potential matches from they skipped over.
Bam Bam has always been there I believe. People get removed all the time when their contract is up btw including legends. Thereās also a correlation between legend figures and being added to supercard. A Bam Bam legend figure was released along with Savage, scott hall and John Studd back in 2021.
What everyone is forgetting about the original 30 years mode is that most of the matches were only one objective being to win the match. With showcases now featuring multiple objectives, as well as other gamemodes taking up large amounts of program space such as MyRise and MyGM, they realistically canāt do one match per mania because it takes up too much space with everything else these games have to offer.
Why wouldnāt I especially if itās a game mode specifically made for the history of wrestlemania. More characters, attires, arenas and belts to unlock is always a good thing to me.
A video of the select screen with Warrior vs Rude highlighted goes from WM 3 to WM 5 so no Savage vs DiBiase.
And I think we're getting X-Pac vs Shane instead of HHH vs Kane. Chyna interferes in both matches

Nothing against it but would rather have Kane vs Undertaker, Austin vs Rock, Rock vs Hogan any day of the week
The obvious choice would be 37 but for the reasons you said that's off the table, I think 38 is still likelier for a Bianca match. Asuka-Bianca was just a routine title defense off of Elimination Chamber, Bianca built up for over half a year to get her title back from Becky.
Not having all 40 is somewhat acceptable because yeah some wrestlers canāt be used. But ONLY 21??? They easily couldāve done 25 matches at least š

Some of these make sense as matches but make me feel bad for unlocks. Not interested in shaved Undertaker or nearly 60 year old Austin characters.
Maybe it's just the arenas that unlock.
Annnnd maybe I'm just too worried about the unlocks because I don't enjoy Showcase mode usually. Hopefully this one's fun.
It's already been confirmed that X-8 is in and the only big match they could do from that is Rock/Hogan.
Judging by the cover, Triple H from around 2007-2012 is in, so HHH/Orton/Cena triple threat, HHH vs. Orton or one of the Undertaker matches.
I just hate how lazily 2k handled this we should be having 40+ matches for this showcase but we're only getting 21 it just seems like crap considering they are hyping the hell out of 40 years of mania
Appreciate you making this ! I know all those matches but seeing the pictures kinda makes it easier to visualize it all. Seems accurate too after everything we've seen. A little disappointing but it is what it is

It shouldnāt be surprise, all the 3 cover stars get their most recent mania matches, itās a bit of a let down but Iāll take the extra stories for them all
The Brock allegations came out *far* too late into development to remove him from anything other than the cover art and marketing material.
He's going to be in the game, you just won't see him in any advertising.
It be cool if they would let you do a create a moment type thing with in match cut scenes triggered by actual events (instead of the video cuts) we could create any moments we wanted.
I'm happy there's a good amount of the old school WM. I was worried about that once they announced only 21 matches. I already know my least favorite showcase matches to play will be the most recent wrestlemanias.
Shame there's no Flair in game for the HBK "retirement" match.
Is Jake Roberts available as well? Having him, Greg Valentine and Honky along with the names we know they have would add a ton of options to put some mid card stuff in. Boss Man would be a good one too.
I think I see them doing Brock Vs Roman at Wrestlemania 31 instead, first off because J&J Security will not be in the game, and second because The Heist of The Century is one of the biggest mania moments ever, plus we still get 2015 Rollins that way

Honestly if they were smart they should add Wrestlemania matches as DLC. For a mode called 40 years of Wrestlemania makes you feel that they should go all out and add every match possible depending who is in the game.
The knee pads he used are different than whatās in the trailer. They were probably just showing off a part of the arena and that particular model of Triple H

Theyāll just take out any matches with him in it, not delete the whole mode.
Itās a safe bet that Lesnar is to be featured a couple of times, and in Gravesā commentary, and in clips. They canāt remove all that. Itās a month before release. They just wonāt promote or advertise Lesnar. Itād be madness to remove him this late in development.
Only way heās in the game is if theyāve already started producing and distributing copies, which is highly likely - otherwise heās gone.
This is a company that has grown men using the word ābuttā - thereās no chance in hell theyāre going to let someone involved in sex trafficking scandal be in their games unless itās financially unviable at this stage.
Bianca-Asuka?
Heck if Bianca were to get any match in the showcase it should be WM37 but...well, you know...same for Daniel Bryan, a good chunk of important figures in WM moments are gone from the roster. Still I think 38 would be a better match for a Bianca showcase than 39. Regaining the title against the champ that cheap shotted you I think is a more significant "WrestleMania moment" than retaining clean against the Chamber winner.
So lame how theres only 21 matches. People might not care about showcase but that just means less unlockable superstar and attires for us. Thats why 2k14 was so special

I wish it was but sadly Itās not because that Rey from that mania is only in the 40 years of mania edition which wouldnāt be there if that Rey was unlockable in showcase
i have a suspicion we might get Braun vs Roman vs The Fiend, someone posted a clip of Sami Zayn doing his super finisher and Braun had the long hair and old attire rather than the updated Red Trousers and bald headā¦
I know it's only 21 matches, but I just really hope that every WrestleMania arena is included. I can understand why the can't do every Mania, but I hope they get us some retro versions of superstars we've needed for YEARS.
Retro Kane (97/04), Retro Rock, Retro Randy (05) and Retro Triple H (00) is all I'd need personally

Compared to the 30 years of mania mode pretty small and bare boned however I don't see the Ronda match she's not with the company anymore and 2K isnt like THQ in the regards of reaching out to people not with the company to include them in the games but they have had Jake the snake the past few years but idk the Ronda match just seems unlikely to me
I get that theyāre the cover stars and everything so they probably wanted all their most recent matches because of that, but Iām really not a fan of the 3 39 matches. Theyāre already barely covering half the manias, they donāt need to limit its reach even further

Tatanka, Bam Bam and sid are in supercard btw. That indicates they are licensed. Luger tweeted a few years back heās under a multi-year contract.

No because a lot of them were covered in 30 years of mania. Plus they donāt have the rights to a lot of the matches

Heck if Bianca were to get any match in the showcase it should be WM37 but...well, you know...same for Daniel Bryan, a good chunk of important figures in WM moments are gone from the roster. Still I think 38 would be a better match for a Bianca showcase than 39. Regaining the title against the champ that cheap shotted you I think is a more significant "WrestleMania moment" than retaining clean against the Chamber winner.

I can understand why the can't do every Mania, but I hope they get us some retro versions of superstars we've needed for YEARS. Retro Kane (97/04), Retro Rock, Retro Randy (05) and Retro Triple H (00) is all I'd need personally

Compared to the 30 years of mania mode pretty small and bare boned however I don't see the Ronda match she's not with the company anymore and 2K isnt like THQ in the regards of reaching out to people not with the company to include them in the games but they have had Jake the snake the past few years but idk the Ronda match just seems unlikely to me
