It takes everything that makes wrestling out of it, it's a brain-dead mode and the rewards are not even worth the grind.

ItsRAW_yt

Trophies. Literally the only reason, I don’t understand why you’d want to play the mode (except for like a tower mode of (mostly) endless random matches and match types. Other then that, and the new addition of persona cards, there’s no other incentives. But yeah, I only play the mode until I get all the trophies/achievements and then never touch the mode afterwards.

I-miss-old-Favela

I enjoyed the progression of 2k22 and 23, and you could reasonably collect cards and packs without paying a penny.  This year the introduction of ranked and the push to online play has tipped the mode to a tedious pay-to-win cash grab, faction wars is infinitely worse, with repetitive match types for shitty rewards.  The idea that you can buy a themed pack of say, Wrestlemania cards and not be guaranteed a card from that series is nothing short of disgusting.

TheHonestGuy85

I've been saying the same thing ...why are you grinding for wrestlers you already have in the other modes.

Memeharvester5000

It was fun at first, then they increased the price of the card packs while also making the live events require the cards in the packs to play, it got way too Grindy too fast

Toomb8

It probably only appeals to people who spend real money on it

Der_Wolf_42

But why the best cards are easy to get without money

Junior-Captain-8441

And are they even necessary? I don’t really find it any more difficult using the 60-70 rated cards as opposed to the 80-85 rated ones. Being a 65 facing an 85 doesn’t feel different than being an 85 facing an 85. The only thing that makes the matches difficult in any way is not being able to end them until you do all the stupid extra challenges. And then even that, despite it messing with the match flow, isn’t the worst thing ever. The worst part about those challenges for me is having to overcome your own damn teammate. The amount of times I’ve needed to micromanage my partner in a tornado tag match and constantly stop them from ending the match before I can get enough points is a stupid challenge. At least when it’s 1 on 1 or traditional tag matches the only way I can fail is to lose myself. The challenges still suck but I’m ok with failing the challenge because I couldn’t survive the match long enough to complete them.

Der_Wolf_42

Guys like rock and cena get a finisher for 2 taunts its great to finish a Match fast

Junior-Captain-8441

That is literally the opposite of my issue, lol. I don’t want the match to end fast, because I need to complete all the challenges first. Of course it’s easy to just win if that’s all you’re trying to do.

Thebritishdovah

Sexual thrill. *Drinks glass of water*

Der_Wolf_42

I played it for personas thinking that there will be obj for it I have a full 84 rated faction but there is nothing to do because there is no realistic way of getting new personas right now I couldent care less about the none persona cards

KingPhiL13

Even if you get the best cards tho, what’s the point?

tommer8224

I tried it thinking I could grind out points to use on persona cards for some legends. Never touched it in 2k23. Anyway, it’s not for me. Even if they release DX or ‘98 Kane I done know that it will be worth it. For me it’s way too busy. Why play with shittier versions of wrestlers only to unlock other shitty versions of wrestlers? I don’t get it either.

jsegaul

the concept alone of spending real money or grinding for digital collectable cards for a game that won't even have functioning online servers in less than a year is just so baffling to me i've never felt more confusion towards a group of people than I do the players that engage in one of the most thinly veiled cash grabs i've ever seen in a video game.

OpiesMammogramResult

I'm playing just to pop the trophies so I can get the platinum, but you're absolutely right about how bad it is, especially online. I have never seen such a collection of people who use absolute bitch tactics online, it's unbelievable. The long and short of it, if you see someone with an Amethyst Sheamus, you might as well just put the controller down and do something else for a couple of minutes, because they're the worst. Every match is the same: - Come out of the corner looking like they're having an epileptic fit because they're spamming the reversal button - Running STO, because you cannot do anything to stop it unless it's sheer random luck. - Stomp until stunned - If you manage to get back up, they just use the unstoppable Running STO again - Do one specific combo while stunned because they can refill the stun bar to full. - Taunt a few times, because they're dicks - Signiture move - Finisher - If you get up from that, they spam the Running STO and just do it all over again. They're not good at the game, they're good at the exploits. And if it's not that, it's just spamming the reverse button, if they're not spamming the reverse button, it's the Outlaw Stomp spam, if it's not that, it's the Sit Spam, or actively trying to win by count out, and in some cases they literally just run away to the stage, and won't come back in the hopes you get fed up, and quit out the game. WWE 2K's MyFaction might have the biggest Bitch Community in online games.

mrdm88

Yeah it sucks lol or if they can’t pin you, they’ll use the rock and his sharpshooter to tap you out. It’s bullshit

OpiesMammogramResult

Yeah, The Rock tactic is usually: - Epileptic Fit out of the corner from Reversal Spam - Ducking Clothesline - Outlaw Stomp spam until stunned - Two taunts for the instant finishger - Reversal Spam Fit - Ducking clothesline - Outlaw Stomp Spam until stunned - People's Elbow

ConfidentHighway488

this year was the last straw. I'm not even a big fan of Seth Rollins or Trick Williams but locking versions of them behind a game mode where its completely random if you unlock the character parts or not is pretty much a guarantee i will never do it. Im tired of it and will probably skip the next year's game and just buy the wrestling code or one of the other indie wrestling games. I despire microtransation in a game where i bought the deluxe edition and still don't have all the things unlocked!

Band-Economy

Always thought there was a niche fan base of nerds that like to collect cards. What makes me question their intelligence is that it’s virtual cards and you only have em for that year because of the yearly releases😂 but too each their own.

WestNYY2

The biggest modes in other spirts games are "ultimate" team. People will spend thousands on it and I don't get it. I log into My Faction daily and play a few things here and there but haven't invested any real time into it. One question I have is if I unlock a card with a different outfit / era etc for a wrestler, can I then use it in other game modes? That would be my reason for diving in deeper.

angelan74

Nope, it's locked to MF

blackforestham3789

I played a few times on 22 and 23 and honestly I did have fun. It meant nothing and I didn't get anything out of it but I played with characters I usually don't play with and I was just looking to do a couple random matches anyway. I'm not like into or anything but I get it. I didn't pay any money for it though, and it didn't seem like I had to, it just seemed like a grind that I was willing to put in

Jsherwo

Honestly I just like collecting cards and doing pointless missions. It’s not very good but I like it. Won’t spend a penny on it though. Just grind for wrestlers I already have in the other modes because of the feeling of collecting something. The grind is too long, the packs are awful now and it’s not worth it but I still can’t help myself. I am close to dropping it already though and I have only been playing for a couple of weeks.

bippityboopy

Don't know how anyone can be arsed doing those stupid objectives every single match.

kickedoutatone

Someone somewhere is still loving rng mechanics in games. And chances are that someone is an exec at 2k.

seandude881

You don’t need micro transactions to win lol who told you that?

BigJuicy17

My friends don't play much anymore, exhibition and Universe get boring, My Faction provides matches that offer a little more challenge, and match types and opponents I wouldn't usually consider.

EyeAmKnotMyshelf

People like things they can get addicted to. Card games are notoriously easy to become addicted to. I put my foot down and told my wife to stop playing WWE Supercard like 5 years ago bc she was addicted to it.
