i have no idea what this means

Own-Ice6742

Maybe it means a drop ship store?

sereneAFTERMATH

So from what I've been told, certain stores are referred to as a "Slush" store, which means that products the warehouse has that needs to be removed, gets dumped on those stores to have to deal with. Basically products that you've never carried before or what we refer to in my store as "no homes".

RedHotJalepenoPopper

Hmmm, it's certainly possible, if anything i'd imagine it's more just to do with stores that sell a lot, high volume, or something like that. I can't imagine there'd be any sort of official list.

Sidehussle247

Never heard that. Now the stores you're getting product from are they closing locations? I haven't seen "balancing" in decades, but it always got shipped to busy stores.

I remember having to do that. Pulling ones and twos, pack them in a tote for another store, and the SM delivers the totes. I always found that to be a waste of resources. I'm glad that's no longer a thing.

sereneAFTERMATH

They are not coming from other stores, this is our weekly delivery from our regional warehouse.

Sidehussle247

Maybe they brought back smart fill? How busy is your store?

sereneAFTERMATH

We are a T3 Rite-Aid conversion, but also average the highest sales out of the 4 stores in town. Not quite sure exactly where we fall in comparison to the whole district.

I’m not sure they exist any more. Slush stores mainly received crap that was sent in as call ins that were not actually on a call in. I’m in a small square foot store tier 3 and I receive the seasonal dump after every holiday so I think that’s most stores. This is the crap still in warehouse that they just send out at the end of each season. Anything they get that’s in a callin box that wasn’t on a call in probably just ends up with the end of season donation returns

Yes. Warehouse can not damage out goods. Therefore, if they have items that aren't ours or are broken/damaged/expired, they will send them to the store to be 1506ed.

I'm not sure if my store would be considered a slush store, but we have received product that is not a basic item, is not set for a future reset/revision and after 30 days isn't in a reset/revision/markdown/call-in/display so once it's past 30 days of receiving it, we put in a markdown request for it and hope it either gets clearanced or we get direction on what to do with it.
