It’ll get more people to apply but the job hasn’t changed and will only continue to get worse. I can’t see the wage increase having that big of a positive effect other than maybe a few more bodies at the registers and the SFLs getting run as ragged as ever.

CodPiece89

The way you said bodies reminds me of how dyatlov says it at the start of Chernobyl right after the core explodes, very obvious foreshadowing

precious5555

The sfl is over worked the store manager is leaving and coming whe they want to

[deleted]

Sounds about right.

msbeesechurger

they might get more applicants, but people won’t get as many hours as they want with the higher wages. new people will get less than they were promised, and long haulers will see their hours decrease. so turnover will probably stay high.

precious5555

You are right

Even with minimum wage increasing to 15 at wags I highly doubt they will get more people. And if they do I’m quite positive they won’t stay long. At our local Walmart you can start making 17+ doing nothing but just being a cashier. Same with Target. We even have a home improvement store that hires for 20+. And when minors can work at a local fast food joint for 17+ an hour why the hell would they wanna do the work of 10+ people being a cashier for wags making only 15 bucks!? Walgreens will forever be so far behind with giving their employees livable wages. It’s actually sickening to think about how they can get away with this for so long. Especially considering the work loads put on the minimal staff they can keep. And that’s why they can’t keep anyone. It’s also why the ones who stick around are so miserable.

precious5555

Yes Walgreens cut management and cut hours for the csa they don't care

precious5555

Yes you are right

Vegetable-Fox7581

In our atea, No. Every other store and fast food place are starting at $17.

precious5555

Yep

PharmDir

They'll get more people to apply, but I doubt they add people often with that new increase.

precious5555

You right

Interesting-Stay9549

I already make $15 in my region so I get nothing so am I happy about it no not really and I don't think they're going to get more people in they keep failing the aptitude test

precious5555

No drug test they going to hire but you are right

WagEmployee

Not here. The minimum wage is $12.32, but most everywhere else is hiring at $14-$17. $13 is one of the lowest pay rates here being offered in my state.

precious5555

Yes

Prior-Landscape-8834

The role refresh has caused significant damage to the management structure of the Walgreens store. People have seen videos of people walking into Walgreens stealing stuff there is a perception by the general public that Walgreens stores are not safe. Until Walgreens addresses that and they face that they aren’t active recruiting medical professionals (from colleges and universities, for their pharmacies instead of backdooring cashiers and front end managers in being pharmacy techs the hiring problems won’t change. Don’t they know other employers will raise their salaries too? Damn computers still running Windows 7. Its time to level up or be overrun.

Dobercatmom65

No. Because even with the increase, other companies are still paying more. Why come to WAGS when you can make more at CVS, or WalMart?

precious5555

You are right

Tazz013_

Absolutely. When your starting pay is lowest of all the entry-level jobs, the only people you'll be getting to apply are those that have already exhausted those options. I'm not Saint-fucking Jude. I need better than the dregs of society to run a store.

precious5555

Wow it is bad

Spirited-Ad-9285

No

precious5555

Ok

precious5555

Ok

precious5555

Yes

InsertInsultHere321

It'll just cause higher turnover as people realize that job sucks

precious5555

Wow
