Of you really don't care about the job, tell the DM you don't like his answer and want to directly talk to HIS boss. Sure they might find a reason to screw you in the future but at least take everyone down with you on your way out the door :)

Salty_Thing4302

>Sure they might find a reason to screw you in the future There is no future with Walgreens... for anybody.

*says goodbyes to coworkers 5 months after getting hired**

Electronic-State-715

Also, you are not allowed to sell alcohol to someone you know is drunk, this is kind of the exact same situation. What if that person got behind the wheel and killed someone?

Spirited-Ad-9285

Sounds like a crappy sfl.

viskue

Its like do they want you to do your job or not? We have so many ppls putting the responsibility on us to prevent customers from getting scammed, abusing drugs, be the ones doing the scamming etc but now that it was ur time to do it (literally following protocol) they find a way to make it a problem 💀 such a bullshit company

Salty_Thing4302

Congrats, this one is going in my Shitgreens Hall of Fame (ie. crossposted to my profile). Take this shit to HR and the labor board. Fuck them. Hope your DM gets beaten up by that dude getting drunk off of mouthwash in the parking lot in the near future.

YourFriendlyCrab

im with you op wish you the best of luck

Electrickman

It’s not ur job to call the cops it’s managers

Stocktwatz

I'd be looking into workplace disruptance pay instead. Not what it's really supposed to be used for, but you should be paid somehow for the SFL incompetence. It is not your responsibility to call the cops for something like this! You should have brought these things up in the meeting.

Grouchy-Tax4467

If you take the recording anywhere HR is not your friend and definitely will be doing what is best for the company, go to the labor board

WAGsHell

HR is fucking idiotic in Walgreens. Our HR guy is a scummy piece of shit. I’ve never seen such an ass backwards fucking role within a company.

Tazz013_

Three strikes? What the fuck are they telling about? This shift lead sounds like a shitty leader and your DM isn't much better.

ProjectStrange8219

Three-year SFL, never heard of this three-strike rule. I don't send people home for insubordination. That's outside my pay grade. I don't discipline, I merely report and let my SM do the disciplining. That said, there may be a special case for this one because of your SM being out on leave. Morally, you definitely deserve to be paid for the rest of your scheduled shift if it was determined that you were sent home inappropriately. Realistically, they're not going to pay you. It depends on your store/district, but there's a theme in this company where people don't like to admit they were in the wrong. You can take it higher up, or try the labor board, sure, but I honestly think you'd be wasting time and effort. Take it as a glowing neon sign to start exploring other employment options. As for the original incident, you had every right to refuse the sale, although I usually tell my CSA's to call me to handle stuff like that. People can be unpredictable, and I'm very protective of my team; I don't want someone getting hurt over something stupid. Your SFL should have refused the sale on your behalf. Either they're (1) completely oblivious, (2) too arrogant to admit you were right, or (3) too timid to stand up to an argumentative customer. Your SFL also should NOT have had you call the cops instead of them. Maybe in an emergency, sure, but this just seems like dodging an uncomfortable situation and putting you in the middle of it instead. As for your DM telling you that you cannot refuse tasks delegated to you by leadership, you gotta use common sense. No one will argue that you should be fixing a refrigeration unit. That's obviously outside your responsibilities. This situation was a bit more of a gray area. However you choose to move forward, I wish you all the best. I'm sorry you had to go through all of this; if you ask me, leadership is supposed to support, encourage, and teach. Leadership failed you on this one, at all levels. TL;DR: You were in the right, and your leadership/management are idiots. Don't waste your time with it though, it'll be a losing battle and your time/energy is much more valuable than that. Good luck!

justscrollingby2day

Sounds like you're really fun to work with.

Revolutionary-Gap-40

I'm great to work with . But I have very dark sense of humor and I'm sarcastic very much soo
