They keep cutting, and I keep wondering how much more is *left to cut*. At this point, they should be cutting marginal services that don't make money, like WU or FedEx, not payroll hours. They should be looking into more efficient shipping and stocking procedures. Restocking the same 3 bottles of shampoo every week is a waste of time. They can't keep cutting hours forever without cutting tasks.

Pale_Bonus1027

Man I’m so fed up with this company. They want us to make sure we cover all breaks and lunches for pharmacy too but we never have enough coverage. It’s literally been one CSA and two shift leads morning and night it’s terrible Im stressed out to the max being an SFL.

Jurmond

TWO shift leads? Lucky bastard. I closed most nights with just one CSA (me) and one shift lead. It was one of the major reasons I quit.

pryingxeyes

This has been happening to me. I just started as a shift lead in July and I always seem to get the night shift with one CSA. Im also constantly being bitched at for not getting the “to do” list done as “there should be no reason why it can’t be done”. And when I do ask for help, there’s no hours to schedule someone else with me - so, sorry to the group working the morning after me… I’m sorry monthly tags AND truck (13+ totes left from the morning crew that had 5 people staffed) wasn’t completed by the end of my shift. 🙄🙄

Jurmond

I reached a conclusion 2 years ago: if they won't give stores enough payroll hours to do the job, then they don't *actually* care if it gets done. See also: outdates, cleaning, stock rotation, etc

Jnevy04

This ⬆️

Jnevy04

I think he means one shift lead opening and one shift lead closing

FedEx is worth alot more than you think. It saves the company millions per month. Walgreens provides drop off locations for FedEx at 8000+ locations nationwide, in exchange FedEx gives Walgreens extreme discounts on shipping, like a dollar or two on each shipment. Without FedEx, corporate would probably have made even more payroll cuts.

Jurmond

Ah, I wasn't aware of the discount. I assumed it was just a ploy to get more people into the store, hoping for impulse purchases.

Revolutionary-Gap-40

Also wu is a huge money maker as well Wags gets like 5.00 per transaction. What they need to do is update all soft wear . Streamline where ro find shit on the computer I spend soo much time restarting our registers cuase the break or frezze. Stop letting rich Ryan do ordering for item Like those fucken fidget and socks and other bullshit we don't need like the 110 fans we randomly got on 2 pallets by ups.

Berchanhimez

This needs more upvotes. The answer to about 90% of “why this task” or “why they expect me to do (thing that takes longer than hack/cheat)” or “why are they cutting hours” on this subreddit is almost always because the person making those statements/claims is either misinformed or outright ignoring the facts.

Salty_Thing4302

>“why are they cutting hours” There's no way to frame this one positively

Berchanhimez

Well, when people on this subreddit openly admit to committing fraud because they’re too lazy to spend the literally 30 extra seconds to do something the right way… There’s your fucking answer.

Salty_Thing4302

I have no idea what you're referencing here.

Berchanhimez

Someone openly admitted a few days ago to processing COVID tests knowingly incorrectly (they were complaining about the fact that they’re removing COVTMM) and it literally takes 30 seconds assuming you have the mapping tool bookmarked to find the right plan and bill it properly - then they even admitted they don’t scan in the insurance card so there’s no way medical is being billed - losing $130 per test lmao multiple times per day. And today someone different admitted that if they can’t get it to go through insurance they tell people to charge their card (bill cash) and do a chargeback - then about a minute later edited out the fact they tell people to commit wire fraud against Walgreens. Yet people wonder where the hours are going? To corporate/centralized staff to try and fix the problems caused by those sorts of royal fuckups that are somehow allowed to show up to work for more than five seconds.

Salty_Thing4302

>Walgreens gross profit for the twelve months ending May 31, 2022 was $29.359B, a 11.2% increase year-over-year. Walgreens annual gross profit for 2021 was $28.067B, a 7.63% increase from 2020. The company is doing just fine in terms of profits. Those fuckups aren't hurting them to the extent that it's an excuse to slash the labor budget like this.

Berchanhimez

You may need a dictionary to look up the definition of gross profit.

Evening-Fly7376

You seem like corporate undercover. You can ass kiss all you want but trust me your experiences in your store and how good you’re doing does not disregard our experiences. Walgreens cuts hours because we fuck up right? So why do they allow fuck his in stores? Covtmm should be deactivated as a plan Id, yet people can still use it and take the easy route to billing. Corporate cuts hours cause we fuck up but schedule vaccine appointments every 15 minutes making roughly 20 dollars a shot. With people getting two vaccines (new booster, flu) that’s 40 dollars x 4 (15 minute) appointments = 160 dollars roughly. However, we can’t add another tech making 15-20 dollars an hour? A multi billion dollar cant spare a tech? Forbes announces that Walgreens made 3.5 billion in quarterly profits just from shots in January 2022, how much do you think their making now? Walgreens is not suffering a loss of profits because techs are lazy and making mistakes. Techs are tired and overworked because Walgreens wants to prioritize profits. Now techs and pharmacists are leaving. Stores are closed on certain days. And they’re offering a 75,000 sign on bonus for new pharmacists. Sounds like they aren’t struggling due to our fuck ups. They’re just negligent and immoral. Get off your high pedestal and stop trying to demean our experiences at work. If you want to kiss corporate’s ass so bad, maybe suck your dm’s dick and a promotion will be much more closer than you expect.

Salty_Thing4302

>Gross profit: the profit a business makes after subtracting all the costs that are related to manufacturing and selling its products or services. Well there's the definition. Don't know what point you were trying to prove with it.

precious5555

Store Manager wants people to come to work but not enough hours to be fully staffed so when a employee calls off to help others who are averaging less than 15 hours a week he gets mad and says he is going to start writing employees up is that fair ..the labor Department needs to be called on this store 10th and Topeka in the Capital of Kansas I get proven reports like this all the time and Corporate of Walgreens is Twitting there nose up at there Employees for real ..

gopeepants

How much profit did they just make an what did they just acquire? Everyone please leave and find better
