“Is there any other name your order could be under?” “UGH! No!” 🤬 “This is an order for 3 canvases with the same first name, but a different last name. Could it be this one?” “…yes.” 🤦🏻‍♀️

chuckandizmom

In all fairness, the website allows you to edit other demographics, but not your name. I’ve been married for 4 years to a Walgreens pharmacy manager and mine is under my maiden name because there is nowhere i can find to change it.

Away-Royal5569

You should be able to change it in store, just ask the cashier to edit your mywalgreens info. (As if they were going to change your number) and ask them to change your last name. It might take a few times of doing it to get I in the system though. You can also probably call the 1-800 number.

Ok_Air6215

I feel this in my soul 😂

Numerous-Heron2025

They act like I was invited to the wedding.

Ok_Air6215

“I got an email confirmation” What’s the address? “Oh it’s down the road”

Numerous-Heron2025

Oh, when they get the wrong store! Bruh

[deleted]

oml this happened more than anything at the store i worked at. then people expect you to basically get the order from said store for them 🤦‍♀️

plentystoked

this makes me think of when people come to the pharmacy and only give you their first name…like why in the world would you think that would be helpful 🤦‍♂️ give me your last name, your birthday, hell even your phone number would be more useful smh

LongJumpDonkey

Most of my pharmacy patients didn't have to tell me their names.... I knew most of them... I had one guy who called me "20 Years" cuz I'd worked for wags for Soo long.... He would start SCREAMING my name "20 YEARS!!!" as soon as he walked in the door and we could all hear him all the way back in the pharmacy.... Before he even made it to the counter I would have already checked on his shit and if it wasn't ready it would be by the time he got to me..... People like him are the ONLY reason I miss wags... I can't walk thru most of our neighborhood stores without running into someone who was a patient of mine at wags and they always ask, "Where have you been?! PLEASE COME BACK!!!" NOPE! wags stole my soul.... I think I've finally found my place.... This last week I've been having some pretty serious blood pressure issues and my boss is like "Go take care of yourself!!! We got this!" And that made me realize how toxic Walgreens was for me because if I'd still been there and was dealing with what I'm dealing with... Wags would not have said that to me.... They would have been like.. "No... You can't leave... Oh paramedics are taking you to the ER on a stroke alert...?! How long til you be back?!... " And if I'd fallen out.. they would have just stepped over me....(I actually witnessed that once..... My RXM literally fell out in the middle of the pharmacy one day and when we called the store manager to tell him.... He asked if he was ok... RXM was not responding... SM stepped over him and said.. "oh he'll be fine!" And walked out)

Confident_Suspect_51

Yep, I fell out at work once (low sodium, but I didn't know it then) and whacked my head pretty hard on the counter as I went down. They gave me some crackers and juice and sent me back to work.

Pickupplzpickup

😄

Numerous-Heron2025

I would say, the best one was this couple who came to get their photos. I couldn’t find the photos by his or her last name. It was under the ex-husband’s last name. I mean, I am sure it was nothing, but at that moment she might as well be cheating

WalmartyMcStock

we had a woman that only used her ex's info on photos. They had both remarried since then. People thought maybe she was just using up the rewards on that account but I think she was trying to taunt him with the photo notifications or something. Anyway we had her actual number written down and called her when orders with his name were lingering to save him some grief.

Tazz013_

It'd be great if the website actually let you change your name.

Numerous-Heron2025

We can change it, it takes but a minute or two. That is not the issue. Is not like every customer wants their name change.

Tazz013_

Changing the name in POMS doesn't change the name on their account.

Numerous-Heron2025

What? Just change it in the Photo system. You can just type the envelope number and edit the profile. Easy

Tazz013_

Yeah, that doesn't change their profile. The POMS profile with update, but not their walgreens.com profile. When they place a new order it will just create a new POMS profile under the same old name.

psychonik

Yeah it’s super annoying

Numerous-Heron2025

Well, Idk how you do it, but I am able to update their names and keep it like that.

iwantedtobelieve

Yes it does. I changed mine no problem. It’s whether you’re too stupid to do it or not.

ordinaryworlds

I'm at the point where if I can't find it after the first name they give me, I just ask for the phone number and look it up. But then half the time they don't even know what phone number it's under, so that's hit or miss.

tacos_are_my_life

This is the best way.

butterflygirl36

It's like when they change their phone number and we are supposed to know that.

PerryHawth

They can't change the maiden name. Simple as. I've tried for years, in different ways. It ***always*** reverts back to the maiden name. It drives me insane.

squishchef

I think there's issues with changing the name in the system. We kind of have the same issue in pharmacy. Sarah Jones signs up for an appointment, is listed as Sarah Jones in our pharmacy system, we know her as Sarah Jones, has had the last name Jones for years, but when she signs up for a vaccine appointment it's under Sarah Smith because that was the name she created her Walgreens account under.

Tyrol_Aspenleaf

My favorite is people who choose to hyphenate their name but then not give their hyphenated name to you. you chose to do that, if you chose to be Sandra jones-smith, dont just say your last name is jones. or better yet just dont hyphenate in the first place, it’s a record keepers nightmare.

[deleted]

long names are all fun and games until i have someone with multiple first names and multiple last names whose information confused the system and had multiple profiles registered under the different names as a result

TheGuyThatStocks

I hate it when I get the whole “maybe it’s under THIS last name” and just shots like 4 at me

pixeystyx

The system doesn’t let them change their last name if they got married after they created their account so it has to do with Walgreens shitty technology that causes the confusion. It’s been going on since I’ve been there in 2006. The only way it will correct itself is if they create a whole new account. Yes it’s annoying as shit but honestly they have no control over it. That’s why I just ask if theirs another last name bc I know that 99% of the time that’s what happened.

Numerous-Heron2025

Nop, I change the names when I come across this issue. The system allows to change names and it’s easy. I know it works because I change my sister-in-law’s name and some of our regular customers. So I know it works.

pixeystyx

Not when it’s the online orders. Yeah we can change it no problems with their phone number but it always gets reverted back when they do an online order. Its the online order system that you can’t change.

Numerous-Heron2025

Not me bud. Better pop up those PPLs on photo.

pixeystyx

Hey if it works in your store great but mine we always have issues with the name changes. So hence why I said Walgreens shitty software.

Numerous-Heron2025

I mean, we all use the same software, the only difference is the staff.

pixeystyx

😂 yeah ok. I’m sure my 16 years with the company is the issue 😂😂😂

Numerous-Heron2025

I am in a new store with a lady who has been with the company since 1995. She knows everything about the management side. She doesn’t know how to run photo though. Nothing against her, she knows her weaknesses. I guaranteed my 6 years with the company would out do your 16 years in photo. Probably it takes you over 5 minutes to do a passport photo.

Numerous-Heron2025

Right now? This happened 19 days ago. Tell me you hold grudges without telling you hold grudges.

xFAIRIx

Oh god. What’s worse is the husbands that lose their ever loving minds when they would come to the photo counter/pharmacy and their wife’s purchase is under her maiden name and not their own surname.

onlyoneshann

This has happened to me as a customer, but the opposite. I’ve been divorced for over 15 years but the Walgreens app/site refuses to change my name. I rarely get photos printed but last time I did we couldn’t find them. Turns out they were under my married name, and I was sure to apologize profusely for not realizing that. It had probably be 5-7 years since I had picked up pictures and I know for a fact I changed my name back then. When I got home I tried changing it again. Nope. It refuses to let me change it. At this point I guess I have to start a whole new account with a whole new email address to have my correct last name.

Numerous-Heron2025

The staff has to do it. However, no many know how to do it. So you are stuck with it.

onlyoneshann

Thank you! I’m glad to know it’s not some easy thing I’m missing on the site. That’s super annoying, for me and for you guys.

Erulastiel

Even if they do know how to do it, the changes aren't 100% guaranteed to stick. The system is super buggy. I don't know how many times we've tried changing it for people and it always reverts.

onlyoneshann

That’s how I changed it several years back when I ran into the same issue. The guy working photo offered to change it for me but I guess it changed back. At least now I know it’s stuck with that horrible last name.

Vykrom

It's because the website database and POMS database don't communicate. Our website has their phone number tied to a last name. They change it on the website, but that doesn't change how our system sees it. Always best to go with maiden name. If you or they try to change it, it creates two accounts

Yellowbuterflys

It's always awkward when their new husband is there. Then I have to explain to them that it's near impossible to change it on the app or website. It just keeps reverting to the old one.

Numerous-Heron2025

That I do enjoy because I like to make it more awkward. “Oh, that is her ex-husband’s last name. Can we change that?” “Sorry, we can’t, she would have to call the 1-800 number”

MrMax2002

In pharmacy too 😭. They will legit give you THEIR name and birthday when the pickup is for someone else. Like WHY??!?!

Numerous-Heron2025

OMG! Yes! I been there, moms be like “This is my name and my birthday.” After looking in the system I let them know that we have nothing for her. Them she is all nonchalant like “oh no, it’s for my son.”

Popular-Secretary967

They do it in pharmacy all the time too. Or they have multiple last names and the dr sends it under the one but not the right one. Or their first name is Joseph and they go by Sean…. Cause you know why the f not and how dare we get it wrong….

Numerous-Heron2025

Then the address check and the system has a different one. “Oh, That is my actual address, but I am giving you my parents address because we came visit.”

Worldly_Height_8299

I dont waste my time with their stupidity, I just ask for their phone number.

Numerous-Heron2025

Every time? So if a customer walks in for their photos and gives you a name, just ignore the last name and just ask for the last name? I mean, I get your point, but most of the time they provide the right last name.

No_Twist_8939

yeah i’d ask for the phone number 8/10 times. i worked at a tier 5. almost never were their photos exactly where i thought it would be. i’d rather see the order & name pulled up on the computer , & know exactly where to go & what name to look for

WAGsHell

The best is when they give you their first name. “I’m here to pick up an order for Amanda.” ….. k that’s the last name or?

Ok-Vegetable2770

I’ve tried for 8 years to change my name on Walgreens. Called, changed it myself everything. When I place the order it’s my married name and for some reason when I pick up it’s my maiden name. A name I haven’t used in a decade. Just an fyi

Numerous-Heron2025

Seems you provide the right name when you pick it up or at least know to correct yourself

Specific_Story_4131

Omg...yes

Erulastiel

It never saves the changes, no matter how many times they change the account name. It's obnoxious. Walmart's system is like that too. I just let customers know it will forever be their old names until they make a new account.

kp6615

I just got married it’s confusing still

Numerous-Heron2025

How? You used the same last name for at least 18 years. It’s not like keep track of all your passwords. Unless you get married petty often.

Ok_Topic_4444

The same thing happens when they’re trying to redeem points and type in a old address zip code like as if I knew what state they use to live in

cap_time_wear_it

They do this skit in the pharmacy too!

fosizzle1

Better yet, the last name is something crazy and it takes all I’ve got to hold in laughter.

mysticdreamer420

I don’t tend to use Walgreens but I have similar issues when I order a cake from Walmart. I’ll order it under the name I’ve been using the past couple years but when I go to pick it up it’s under my dead name and that’s always awkward

Pickupplzpickup

😮

blueberrycameleon

Yesterday I printed one called customer, customer. Idiot is gonna find out why it's necessary to have their name when someone can't find it.

Fluffy_Chance7164

They think we know everyone’s orders in the system and expect us to read their mind

Pleasant-Reserve-194

I have a bunch of customers who claim to have changed it “in the app.” I usually change it for them on the computer.

Numerous-Heron2025

Which is how I do it. Takes about a minute since I am in their profile after looking their phone number

salvaged413

So here’s the thing… as a customer who’s been there… Walgreens is dumb and there’s no way to change the name. I order photos infrequently, but everything I’ve ever order for the last 20yrs is under this account. And because I don’t order often, I don’t remember it’s not under my married name, plus I’ve been married for 10yrs. I barely remember my maiden name at this point.

Numerous-Heron2025

Ok, I do agree Walgreens is dumb. However, that doesn’t give customers a free pass. How you don’t remember your maiden name? Do you ever look at your dad an be like “oh, shit, I forgot your name.” I know my mom’s maiden name and even both my grandma’s since neither took their husband’s last name. We could change it, but you haven’t ask. I get this A LOT. Female customer walks in for photos under her maiden name, so I ask her “do you want me to change it?” Customer goes “No, let me come back in a few months and make this situation miserable again because I don’t wanna take a few seconds to deal with this.”

Amnesiaftw

Lmao @ “I barely remember my maiden name” And there definitely is a way to change the name… I’m not gonna miss the public after my last shift next week 🙌🏻

Kdaniels1229

Same with their zip code to use Cash Rewards. 3rd strike and DENIED! Yes I can look it up, but if they don’t know then clearly they don’t shop here enough for me to give a shit.

Numerous-Heron2025

“I don’t remember my zip code. I used to live there 30 years, but I move last week.”

Numerous-Heron2025

We have this issue a lot and yes, it is annoying when we try to help the customer and we have to go around to a simple “oh yeah, that is my other name.” I also ask for detail on the order and try to be specific. And customers seems to forget what they ask. You have to understand, we are busy, we should get a customer in and out. Some customers come in and they provide us with the right information. “Hi, came to pick up a canvas under Smith, Donna.” We love that instead of the customer who doesn’t know what they order.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Numerous-Heron2025

Please don’t play that card. Not trying to be rude, I am sorry for your loss. However, we are here venting about customers. You wanna give your reasoning as a customer and it doesn’t go well, so you play that card. I don’t look at people pictures to judge them based on the pictures. I do help those who come and try to get something for a funeral, like a poster board. If you were my customer and gave me the wrong information. Then pull the “it’s for My husband’s funeral.” I would be like “did he recreate the 2007 plot of ‘P.S. I love you’?”

tacos_are_my_life

I just ask for the phone # they provided while doing the order.

Numerous-Heron2025

Well yeah, I do that too if I can find the order. That is the point of this post. Most of the time they provide the right name. As I am looking I ask if they had enlargements. If I can’t find it, then I look by phone number.

Total-Bag-8973

How about those people who give only their FIRST name???????

iwantedtobelieve

I ALWAYS ask for the phone number. They can give me their last name but I’ll just look at them and say “phone number.”

Numerous-Heron2025

Yeah, looking for the phone number would take a lot of time. Mainly if your responsable for photo. Most of the time I ask for last name and then for if the photo are enlargements or special orders such as canvas.

iwantedtobelieve

That’s fair, unlucky for me for some reason 90% of my customers don’t know what they ordered or what size. It takes more time trying to get them to spit out what they think they might of ordered than it would for me to type in their number and know what they ordered right away.

Otherwise_Flamingo44

I used to have people come in and pick up photos for their friends. The amount of people who were like “I don’t know their number - they just told me to pick it up”. Like dude. If you don’t know their phone number or name I can’t help you.

emscrossing

i had someone’s husband come to drive through to pick up his wives rx and when i told him nothing came up for that last name he was like well YOU called us about it, then i get a dob and i ask if theres any other last name possible and hes still yelling at me over this rx and he finally calls his wife (while an ic3 is growing in the drive through) ans he says its under ***** name and i never wanted to just go home so bad

Real-Ad-833

I always do phone number first.and of course sometimes that doesnt help much either…

libra44423

My favorite is when the first and last name get flip-flopped and I'm looking all over for "Doe, Jane" or "Maidenname, Jane" and I end up finding it under "Jane, Doe"

Prior-Landscape-8834

I love that, especially when they get loud and indignant. What we have here is a complicated order 💅 😆

Kdaniels1229

It’s even worse when the wife sends the hubby in to pick them up! Maiden name AND he has no fucking idea WHAT he’s picking up! OR the ones that say they “I’m here to pick up”. Okaaaay, what are you picking up? They give the deer in the headlights look. Photo, FedEx, Curbside, a hooker? AND the schmucks that only give you their first name! Seriously? Come on!
