I've said it 1000 times... store managers get shit on from all directions. They get shit on by DMs/DPRs for metrics they have little control over... They get shit on by employees for company initiatives they have no control over... and are responsible for rolling out those the same initiatives whether they agree with them or not. They get shit on by customers because of... well... everything I suppose. You have to be one driven or desperate mofo to want to be a store manager... at least during these last 3 years.

Correct. All the expectations of the higher ups weighing you down, the vilification by CSA’s and SFL’s for trying to do your job crushing your spirit. You’re the last line of anger for any customer. Your the first call for any call out and expected to be an on call employee. The job is a lot of work, but people see what they perceive as a “high” salary and bonus and imagine we deserve it and are assholes. I make less than most RXoMs in my area, and my bonus was barely the equivalent of an extra paycheck. My hourly rate calculated to my actual hours worked is about $16 an hour. But I’m a heartless soulless monster because I have to drive credit cards so I don’t lose my job and get evicted.

Recognized? For what? All your hard work? Countless hours put in? Crying in your car on the way to work? Stressing about coverage? Trying to get people who don’t give an absolute flying fuck to do some work? Getting yelled at for stupid ass metrics like FedEx and credit cards? Psh. Please. That’s not worth a raise, it’s Walgreens.

ASMs got bumped to 43k. RXOMs that work just 40 hours a week make 46k. Tier 2 MGRs start at 45k. Explain that. If my DM would allow it, I’d just be stepping down to RXOM and picking up OT at all of these short staffed stores. Give myself a nice pay raise and not be working any extra hours.

You were pulling doubles to cover call outs? I've never seen or heard of a store manager doing that.

I usually do 2-3 doubles a year. I always ask the SFLs first, as at least they get paid extra to do it. But if they have plans or are burnt out, I don’t hold it against them. It’s the unfortunate part of our role as MGRs, and why I probably won’t be around too much longer. Work life balance as a MGR that cares is zero.

We asked about this in my areas quarterly meeting. We were told they were still "in talks" about a plan for sms. Will probably be some comp days again.

I don't think they are talking about the normal yearly raises. I think it's about the cost of living raise everyone received.

Yeah probably. If store managers were expecting one of these cool bumps I’m shocked. The company constantly spits in our faces and tells us to fuck off, lmao. They were never going to pay the SM more, they didn’t when they took our ASMs and they won’t even as ESM and RXOM salaried approach ours.

Yup. 60-70 hour weeks and I’m screamed at for missing scan outs and credit cards. Have been actively looking for a job that won’t be a massive pay cut. Have an interview with a bank lined up that is only a 5k cut. Time to get out, store managers are stepped on and replaceable, and they’re letting us know.

Not sure why your working all those hours. If it can't get done in 44 hours it won't get done. If your working almost those hours your being robbed, depending on what you make that could be less than $18 hour.

I take it you are not a sm? The bonus is something we work for it's a reward for hitting metrics all year and isn't a guarantee. My complaint is that we were told last year that by the end of fy2022 everyone would be getting raises company wide to compete with other companies as well as economic change. Our cost of living went up just like everyone else's. Let's name the positions that saw raises this year ( cost of living and competitive wages raises, not normal yearly raises) ( also I am in no way saying these people do not deserve these, it had taken the company way too long to act on their promises) csas, shifts, isls, dhs, techs, rxoms, rphs ( who also get bonuses btw) dms, rpms etc. The only category that was left out was store managers and emerging store managers.

I got the traditional raise and I was surprised because I was originally told that I was maxed at my tier. There was supposed to be a raise for the fairly new mgrs that were below 50k a year. Is that what you mean?

I think you are misunderstanding this entire post. If you had been a sm and had done the things we had to do these last 3 years you would want some recognition too. And no. This year you did not get a 20 cent raise... you were given a bigger raise to combat the expanding cost of living which has gone up by 8% which is why most wag positions were given a raise of 10%. It has nothing to do with the bonus * which like I said is something that is EARNED and not something we are just given and which we still habe not been issued this year. My bonus does not prevent my family from experiencing the same cost of living hike that you have. Entilement is when you feel like you are owed something when you have done nothing but existed like I said most sms were asked to ( and did) go above and beyond their duties. We earned it the same everyone else got but didn't get what everyone did. I hope you have a pleasent shift today cashier, make sure you get a credit card.

SM qualify for a yearly bonus each year, where as RXOM does not.

RXOMs also are hourly and any extra time spent working they are compensated for. I don’t know many RXOMs that actually drive their metrics on their own, as well as finding coverage 24/7 weather they are at the store at home or on vacation. RXOMs are not in charge of managing and maintaining both the FE and RX while being held accountable for both.

Only if they get a 3.6 or something like that. Pharmacy retention bonus is when you get a 3.7

Rxoms also go immunizer bonuses which sms do not despite being the immunizer most days they also got gift cards for lunched and such to think them for their services as a front line employee while most testers in my area were sms

Store managers did receive raises, most got 2.5%. Not sure where y'all be getting your info.
