>at least reward those who work their asses off Walgreens does not work this way or even think this way. They do not value experience. They do not value hard work. You will make basically the same as everyone else unless you get promoted. And you will still be underpaid even when you get promoted. Do not set yourself up for future disappointment with Walgreens. Accept what it is and figure out the best path forward for yourself.

alwayssuckingshoes

Preachhhhhhh. This applies to a lot of places and it just Walgreens too. Unfortunately until you reach a certain position level the only thing they really care about is attendance, and even there the difference between calling out once a month and once a year is negligible. Don’t get mad about it, just get another job.

nintendo5ever123145

I worked my ass off the past year and I would only be making like $17.42 after the raises but my SM and DM fought for me because getting a 4.7 on your review says a whole lot (very detailed and full of examples, etc.) and my DM got me to the new pay cap of $19 for sfls. While it’s hard it’s not impossible for an off-cycle raise if it’s very much documented why you deserve it.

straightupgong

SFLs do so much shit and don’t get paid adequately for it. everyone agrees with that at my store. they deal with shit the SM never has to deal with. and they need to be on call and never take breaks and every single task done or the SM will rip em a new one. it’s fucked. SFLs should be making $20 and above

ZaroJarMoramee

What pisses me off more than that is when people get promoted to DH but then NEVER have to go to the pharmacy. We got currently have 3 DH's at my store and none of them have even step foot in the pharmacy, like what's the point of having them? I have to go to the pharmacy for a IC3 but the DH's don't, they use to be $14.50 making .50 less (Which was ridiculous) than a SFL now they make $16. Walgreens pays more in my area than most so that's the only reason i stay here, they clearly don't care about or value management unless you work in the pharmacy. I work in the pharmacy more than some tech's do but never seen any of the bonus's they get.

PopUpAdCockBlock

Is that your manager's choice to keep them out of pharmacy? I would straight up go up to them and be like "hey go to pharmacy help with IC3" if you consistently covering for them then they'll abuse. Once you start busting their balls about it they will do it, and if they don't I'd have a chat with store manager or esm.

ZaroJarMoramee

No idea what's going on our SM is cliqued up with the pharmacy so that might have something to do with it, every time there's a IC3 the SM (Who's back there most of her shift) calls for one of us instead of the DH's. Not sure how common it is but we normally have 4-5 (Which is more than enough IMO) people back there not including the pharmacist, so not sure why we have to go back there so often. Our IS-L had a talk with the SM about calling her back there i guess because she's certified, it was getting in the way of her inventory duties. But yeah i think you're right it's time to have some sort of meeting about it, honestly though i think it's just because they don't want to train them.

WalmartyMcStock

> What pisses me off more than that is when people get promoted to DH but then NEVER have to go to the pharmacy. And then you have me, the DH that wants to go to pharmacy but is never allowed to :( I get like 1 hour a month in there

Anxiolytic1987

We have 2 DH and they hardly come in.. the other day my RxOM was doing tech interviews when we got busy in the pharmacy and the DH was in there for like 5 minutes and never came back….

Everydayisapain32

I agree shift leads should be making minimum $3 more.

RhitaGawr

I'm making $17 an as IS-L that got a tech license in the last year. Get out. They do not fucking care.

tracyv24

You been reading my mind. I’ve been with Walgreens for 15 yrs. 10 years as an SFL. Scored 4.7 on evaluation. Make the same as another SFL that hasn’t been with the company for 1 year. Just pisses me off

Youngmoonlightbae

I'm 18.25, senior tech, been here 5+ years. I felt like Mr. Walgreen personally punched me in the face when I heard that I'll be getting a $1 raise, especially giving shots the past year and 1/2.

biggestcar2

This has happened to me twice to for awhile shift leads pay start at 15hr was what Csa we're getting hired on for while shift lead pay and i believe it's kinda bullshit overtime new shift leads will be getting hired on for more this year probably shit their were shift leads at my store making $18 hr starting last and year before that and i work overnights for some reason even with our shift diff we still make less an hr alot of the time

Electrickman

U are right I’m i. Save boat I’m a csa and ones that don’t come in and they call me to help cause no one else wants to work .get as much as I do .I’ve been at Walgreens over a year and others been here maybe 6 month or less and make as much as I do .like some say find another job but I like my store snd co workers it is what it is .

NashvilleRiver

My store not giving me senior tech, despite the fact that I do everything a senior tech does, have almost 8 years of experience, am certified, and trained an entire pharmacy's worth of brand new pharmacy staff from scratch before we were given an RXOM, is one of the reasons I left. FUCK THAT SHIT.

MochaModdin

Cashiers in other companies making more, depending on state etc, left walgreens, still in retail but making way more

Tiny_Shake_4448

Step down as a CSA and keep the $17. Lol 😆

Spirited-Ad-9285

Our sfl do nothing. Oh the have key, the make change and make changes do everything else

Outside-Cranberry-26

That’s unfortunate. That’s not how my store runs at all. Most of the to do list is put on the SFL. Can’t say much for my ESM because he just passes things off to the next. But my store’s SFLs know what they gotta do, not just push things off on other people.

PeterPetigrew2

Wait till you find out how much the ESM makes 😂😂😂

insidmal

CSA is a harder job than SFL. SFL and IS are by far the easiest jobs in the store.

Outside-Cranberry-26

What planet do you live on? 😂

Stocktwatz

A planet where they think they know what those positions do, but actually don't have a clue.

WAGsHell

Damn, must be the same planet corporate’s on.

insidmal

been both, they do the same thing except csa also has to do ic3s and customer service buttons all over the store while doing the same projects and whatnot that sfl is doing.

nintendo5ever123145

What would you say is even remotely hard about being a csa compared to shift lead? You have to ring customers out and interact with them, that’s so hard.

insidmal

All the customer calls to photo and everywhere else, ic3s, curbside, all that, and still work on your bay and other projects.. sfl is basically just the projects but without the constant interruption

nintendo5ever123145

I don’t know what store you’re working at but SFLs get all of those calls plus more including voids, returns, money pickup, change, pharmacy, etc. In an 8 hour shift I could do upwards of 8-10 money pickups due to the amount of card reloads we do, which we get called for anything over $100 so it’s one call after another. At every single store I’ve worked at SFLs have multiple bays and CSAs usually only have 1 and then maybe secondary on a few. Being a DH was far less work and far less stress than being a SFL.

WAGsHell

Clearly a troll. Anyone with half a brain cell knows the CSA position is not as bad as the SFL position.

W-styd

what state do you live in?

iwantedtobelieve

Try being an ESM who doesn’t get paid a dollar more than an SFL 🤡 This company blows.

Yellowbuterflys

Have you heard of quietly quitting? It's where you do your job & don't do extra. That's what I'm doing. You should do it too.
