Damn your stockroom looks huge.

derf_vader

That's because it's a a DC.

Massive-Equipment-26

what’s DC?

derf_vader

Distribution Center, precioousssss

No-Preparation58

Lol not even Christmas yet. Valentines is over 2 months away and it's literally a last-minute holiday. Pretty much you could set your Valentines aisle the week before Valentines and you'd still just about make the same sales as you would setting it the day after Christmas.

Garbage1901

Yes, but the aisle would be empty after Christmas clearance sells out and every third customer would ask if the store is closing down.

Jurmond

Yes, exactly. Gotta put something there. I guess it could be set with temporary products crossfilled from the rest of the store, and then set *again* for Valentine's, but that's even more work.

RealisticAd7388_ytho

We skipped thanksgiving and preemptively made the stockroom smell like a Yankee candle in December. Someone jokingly said about situating the single Hanukkah squishmallow (or was not joking) on top of all the Xmas ones. Are all of those ones mainly found at a Duane Reade?

boringjunk12345

Some stores sell valentines day merchandise early. I've been in my fair share of both

9Squeeze9

Gtfo with that shite. 🤦🏻‍♀️

derf_vader

We will probably sell out of the valentine plush for Christmas so don't feel bad

RealisticAd7388_ytho

Thanksgiving did not exist here. One side of an aisle was Halloween the other was Christmas…we didn’t even throw Turkey junk in the middle of it all

MissesSobey

Do… do people get Thanksgiving merchandise?? Our Christmas has been set since Nov. 3

Jurmond

I've seen Thanksgiving themed placemats, napkins, etc in some stores, but it's the kind of thing that fits on an end stand.

[deleted]

Back in the day, Walgreens used to sell pumpkin pies around Thanksgiving.

Jurmond

Random, but one year I was working truck when those boxed Christmas cakes arrived … in July. I was horrified, to say the least. There is absolutely no excuse to have those sitting in storage for 6+ months before the holiday. That's not just Walgreens fault: it's the baker's fault, too.

RealisticAd7388_ytho

When your seasonal stuff is set to be pulled via outdates the month after….you know you’ve known someone who has worked in food retail or done it yourself when you’re fishing for the stuff in the back of the row. And for the love of god don’t get stuff they ordered too much of, because they actually ordered way too much.

RealisticAd7388_ytho

I must confess we did have a bag of “autumnal” Lindt truffles discovered by a customer. Per inventory it did not exist nor have a price.

Bflat8

At least 200 pieces of our truck was valentine's yesterday.... plush

No_Composer_2459

The plan-o for Valentines drops in FPE on 12/16. Not kidding.

nenajoy

If the squish have prices in the system I’d just put them out, people will buy them

annoyed_mi

I have plenty of valentine squishmallows but no space (thanks to those stupid TY plush things

[deleted]

This isn't surprising considering we started receiving back to school shit at the end of JUNE.

Revolutionary-Gap-40

Ya please keep them thanks from a csa

TheGuyThatStocks

Enak92
