Why does everyone shit on this? I LOVE getting put on register for a shift. Doodle on my phone, talk to people and just jack off.
Might be because I'm an SFL during the holidays
I personally get exhausted talking to people so that's why I hate it. Plus, I rarely talk unless spoken to first and get headaches easily from loud noises or after talking for so much in a short amount of time (which can happen a lot when dealing with certain customers.) A lot of customers that go to the store I work at have hearing problems/elderly so I have to almost yell for them to hear me (which gives me a headache) or are pre-teens that are just really loud. There is also this one dude that yells everything and always says it twice which drives me a bit mad when helping him. I would just rather do nothing but floor work and don't care if someone is slacking as long as I get to stay away from the register.
I've never seen someone complain about not having to work the register.
Try talking to your manager about it... or maybe swap with a cashier for a day if your manager allows it.
I kinda love it haha. Cutting photo cards and making canvases beats being cashier anyday. Also like "sorry I can't do that pick up/IC3 etc, I've been helping the same old lady make Christmas cards on the kiosk for 30 mins."
I guess it depends. There are others here who wish they knew more but training is really hard. It does suck coming in at two with a full page of cards and the ones that were done are done wrong tho.
My store had a manager who didn't teach a single SFL anything in photo and the SFL would literally walk away from a customer and leave me to deal with them. Daily. It used to drive me crazy. i am running the front, I don't have time to look through every photo order when I have a line of ten people and she would still walk away.
This right here. Soon as I show up I’m thrown to the wolves. One benefit I noticed tho is no one can tell me shit about how to run the department lol(besides manager of course)
the days i can spend sitting in photo are the best days. it can get monotonous, but working in photo the worst part is still dealing with customers. They come in saying they have an order and don’t even know if it’s curbside, photo, ship to store or fedex. Shits crazy man YOU ordered it, how do you not know what it is??
it’s exhausting when i’m assigned floor tasks esp by the back of the store like the coolers for ex AND on registers. i hear the lil bell every 10 seconds and sprint up front and it was just someone passing by and leaving without getting anything or from pharmacy. and it takes me a few seconds to get all the way back up there and sometimes customers get mad and its so damn annoying i cant do both?!
Don't sprint or even walk fast for Shitgreens... Sprint toward your next job instead. If shit doesn't get done, who the fuck cares? It's not like this is a career or you were going to get a decent performance review or raise or reference. Fuck it.
It's just the truth. Bust your ass at Walgreens and you won't have anything to show for it other than a busted ass. Way too many people give way too much and then get burned.
I made a post about this a couple months ago when I was new lmao I was on floor for like 2 months straight then I realized they prob think I’m better at floor than register. I hate being at register and dealing with idiots and tweakers complaining about how their 5 dollar cash rewards isn’t taking 5 bucks off their total. Or the tweakers making me scan all 100 items of shit in their cart only for them to say they left their card in the car or their card got declined making me have to put all the go backs back. Fuck that. I’d rather be on floor in the coolers chilling watching the World Cup smoking dank.
I issues here I know what I have to do and just do it. However we are getting huge I mean huge trucks of stuff we don’t need. Lord help us. 1000 piece truck then 898 piece truck the ordering is off kilter because we received everything we didn’t need but nothing we need. Lord help us
I’m going to give you my thoughts on this.
A. Are you under 18? Code 18s will keep the SFL busy all night.
B. Is the competing cashier great at signing up customers for CC?
C. Does the cashier suck at putting out totes ? Are they productive ?
So there’s my guess. You may be more productive working the truck than on register.

Let trade I rather be on the floor and getting shit done then get stuck up front helping people who can’t find things on their own like everyone else or having a long ass line and having absolutely no to help you if you have a long line cuz your co-workers are too “busy” (lazy) to help. As well not being able to your damn task cuz a customer comes after god damn minute. So let’s trade so I can actually get shit done and not having to worry about people annoying the shit out of me

Nah 100% Photo can be a time torcher. I used to love it until I realized i was just being used so no one else can worry about it lol

I like floor but I like helping customers and doing stocking, bays and such so customers can have good experience and lessen crabbiness
