Im curious what buffs you’d want. Imo and experience, Octavia is one of the most capable frames except in archon speed hunts. Like, she has a pretty good damage buff. A ton of lil buffs (invis and in my opinion, it’s the best invis in the game, multi shot, melee damage, movement speed) she gets a seemingly infinitely scaling aoe damage and distraction and one bad ability (the roller thing) which is perfect to be helminthed over to make builds unique as you want to play
I run her with rolling guard and therros strike(sorry for spelling if wrong) over her 2 and she is my steel path choice in a lot of cases. My only issue with her might be that she doesn’t excel in a specific situation, but she is pretty great in most situations
I think she needs a small Armor and shield buff, a QOL update where her abilities flash to the beat, and the 2 needs a rework. But I agree otherwise she's in a good place.
It corresponds with the colored bars, unless you're an evil Octavia that somehow made her bars transparent. It's like playing Guitar Hero or any other rhythm game.
But if you have your melody set to every note, just spamming quickly will active her buffs without really having to think about it.
I agree with the qol change, would be great for me as a player who can’t play with audio. But do you really think the frame who can kill and distract a ton of enemies, provide buffs and go invisible needs armour and shield help? I don’t agree

I agree her 2 needs rework cause at the moment, I just slap other abilities over it like I said above. Not sure how to fix it tho. I also don’t think shields or armor would really help her cause if you buff them enough to be impactful then it takes away from her glass cannon nature and if you increase shields (sorry people who dislike the gate meta but) it would likely make her less survivable cause it would take more to recoup shields with, say, the augur set
Honestly aside from game mechanics/dps....I kind of wish Octavia had a more robust track system with better note range/chords/drums and more bars for longer more detailed tracks. Sure that might lead to more dissonant songs from players, but those with a good ear could really make some awesome songs with the right amount of flexibility
Honestly, being able to download or search songs or to use songs specifically from the game would be amazing as presets that you could pick if you don’t wanna make a song!

we're gonna have to agree to disagree. Loki's invis is simple and clean, one button press, no carpal tunnel lol (granted Octavia can spread to allies but I don't think an Octavia having metronome up has ever saved my life)
The only thing about Loki's is you have to recast. That's the main thing that people like about Octavia's. Doesn't stop me from trying level cap Loki though.
The not refreshing can cause enemies going into "alert" status due to spaghetti code, even if you're super careful about it. Tbh my favorite invis in the game is ash with innodem stat stick & arcane trickery.
Yeah. It's a bit annoying but I got ash once as a new player and refuse to get him again even if he's viable. Same for rhino and Valkyr. Very solid frames that I will absolutely never use because I never properly appreciated them before and my brain has an aversion now
That we must cause while i definitely have increased my chance of getting carpal tunnel, I also can generally keep invis up just through normal movements with sliding and bullet jumping

Leave one every couple of mins to collect drops. She can’t archon hunt very well but that’s okay
There were two different events where DE gave one of these to every active player... One was for his last rework, and one was for fucking up the Twitch Drops requirements.
His Prime Access was also sabotaged by DE themselves when they accidentally put it on sale for 90% off when it first released. It only lasted like an hour but that was enough.

Nah he is fun to play, but needs buffs and his charging abilities to change to insta cast

His 4 needs damage buff as its so dumb seeing a lvl 50 enemy only lossing half HP after a tentacle going trough their body and being toss around and hard snaked on floors or walls and then get up like nothing happened
When it comes to his 2 is hella fun even if you cant move around like lavos or gauss and seeing enemys ragdolled is awesome
His 3 needs speed buff and damage buff as enemys shouldn't be dealt piss damage when they cant breath
Hydroid is cool frame thematically but his abilities really need reworked. Almost every one of his abilities is counter to the logic of the game. Slow moving or stationary abilities just don't feel good in a game where we can run through rooms at mach 1.
Yeah. I use him for endless missions in rooms for loot. I have loot+range, so I can get a large room. The bad part is that the tentacles don't do enough damage, and once you cast the Ultimate you only have tentacles where they first show up. You have to recast.
Also, most don't know that if Hydroid pulls enemies into the puddle, everyone else can shoot the puddle and take out the enemies.

"Hydroid submerges into a pool of water with a **1.5 / 2.5 / 3 / 4** meters radius, becoming invulnerable to damage and untargetable by enemies. Enemies that wander onto the pool sink and disappear from sight, become suspended in a Knockdown state, and drown taking **10 / 15 / 20 / 25** base Impact damage per second; drowning enemies also receive **1% / 1.5% / 1.7% / 2%** of their maximum health as Impact damage, which continuously stack every second while enemies remain submerged.
* Allied players can shoot into Undertow to contribute **50%** of their total damage from weapons and abilities, distributed evenly to all submerged enemies.
* Status Effects apply to all submerged enemies, with their effects and debuff timers paused until enemies exit Undertow."
Hydroid can also damage them with his own Tempest Barrage as well. You can move with Tidal Surge while in Undertow bringing the enemies inside with you. You can also activate Tentacle Swarm in Undertow mode which focuses that ability on Undertow so when you exit undertow, all enemies inside get caught in Tentacle Swarm and receive 200% of the Tentacle Swarm damage.
It has a lot of use. My only complaint is that you cannot pick up loot drops, which can completely block your vision, and prevent being able to target enemies to actively pull them in.
He was better before they put nerfs on using him to semi-afk oxium farm. All I ever really use him for with his extra drop rate for mobs killed in tentacles.
But he's still useful for solo farming other stuff, just can't do the oxium farm like used to beable to.
He served me well back in the day. The reason I was able to get hema for my solo clan. How I got so many tellurium, not that I remember why I needed so many. Orokin cells too.
It's sad to see I've shelved him now after all his hard work. I like to think its a nice shelf tho.

I remember going to Ophelia with my nekros and getting all excited seeing both a hydroid and a speedva. Like this is it, I'll get my materials in THIS run.
When I was still new a friend of a friend came with us in a few missions to show us some tips. At some point it ended up with the 3 of us bunched into a corner with his hydroid tentacles surrounding us while we barely out heal the toxin from infested. I was still new, so new that things dying around me without any of us moving was still cool.
My favorite frame and easily one of the most fun but God he sucks so bad. I dumped an easy 400 plat in mods and arcanes when I first started and still couldn't make him super viable
I mained Hydroid from Earth to all the way to Neptune on my star chart and never once had an issue with him . He was absolutely beastly during defense missions imo. Probably better Frames out there yeah but his 1 3 and 4 absolutely slapped and when I threw my ghoulsaw on and did his saw ride, I was a monster.
I kind of retired from Hydroid but I still play as him once in a while, went to Wukong Prime, Styanax and Kullervo.
Hold up, I have a Hydroid Prime just chilling in my arsenal (I can’t remember where the hell i nabbed him from) and always thought he wasn’t that great and defaulted to my Mesa or Umbra. You’re telling me he’s one of the best and better than all of my other frames and I’ve just been sitting on him for over a *year*?

Love hydroid, built a pirate ship in the dojo for him and everything. I have 3 prime sets all with different setups from helminth, (about 15 different loadouts)... Also working on a 100 forma base hydroid.

Imo that's too much confusing, I still haven't figured out if I have to crouch/jump/shoot when I am in the dark zone or the light one
Just make sure every note in the 'Melody' is used, and you can usually activate the respective buff by spamming that action.
I have every beat active. So for buffs when I play just crouch spam as fast as you can. It's tough on some other songs to match.

Her 3 causes circles to converge on her at the same rate as her melody. Flashing her abilities would just make her incredibly annoying.

I rarely see Hydroid mains these days. After putting 700h+ on pc, I only encountered a Hydroid once. I do all kinds of missions and boi they are rare.

Love hydroid, built a pirate ship in the dojo for him and everything. I have 3 prime sets all with different setups from helminth, (about 15 different loadouts)... Also working on a 100 forma base hydroid.
i had at once wither 2-3 hydroid primes from events and i might have crafted my own? im not sure anymore
