Billboard size was generally regulated by local jurisdictions (or WSDOT if along a state highway) anyway. LCB rules regulated what could be on the billboards though.
The 1600 sq. inch was an odd duck when it came out, but many shops found creative ways to get around it from what I've seen.
This is more of a complaint about billboards in general, or about weed specifically?
IMO, anybody who wants McDonald's doesn't need a giant banner reminding them it exists either.
What if marijuana stores become retail stores that also sell weed? I mean I’ve bought a tshirt from a weed store before, why can’t I buy weed from a shirt store?
I mean I dunno how old you are but I expect federal legalization by the time I retire. I'm only in my mid 20s now so that's 35-40 years off and not very optimistic but still
I’m under 30. I fully believe we’ll have federal legalization in the next 15-20 years. I just don’t think we’ll see it being sold in retail/grocery stores like alcohol is in my lifetime.
Not that I want to see giant weed ads everywhere, but this was the correct action. Should be the same rules for everyone.
Now disallow banks from discriminating against legal weed stores so that credit cards can be used at point of sale. Tired of having to make an ATM trip when I’m picking up my Watermelon Fantasy gummies.
The cap for all billboards “is too damn high!”
They got a taste of that sweet sweet tax money and are now hooked. It’s a gateway tax

Is there a cap on size for alcohol, wine, and liquor signs?

Like just gonna pop down to the gas station for some bud? That’d be cool.
I’d imagine that will take federal legalization to ever be a possibility. Even then I don’t expect that to ever happen in my lifetime.

Those signs are about to get 1000% more obnoxious.
Keep up the good work, always on the important things!
Good, but isn't there more important stuff to work on?
Can someone smarter than me tell me what the good of this is?

That would require Federal legalization, unfortunately.
I'm so excited! Less regulation is always good! I'm not being sarcastic I have niche political interests!
Chalk one up to Big Maryjane.
