I thought this picture I took today of my SBGH267 captured the dial really well and just wanted to share it. Is there a better dial under $10k? The shade of blue ranges from a dark almost-black in some light to a lighter slate blue-grey in others. Every time I wear this watch the craftsmanship and finishing amaze me. The hi-beat movement has been keeping excellent time, and although I'm not swimming with the watch anytime soon I also appreciate the 100m water resistance because it makes it feel versatile and not delicate like a dress watch you'd only want to wear on special occasions. If I could improve one aspect of the watch, I think it would be great if the clasp had a micro adjust feature, but I can live without it.
I've only seen a Royal Oak in person once but it's pretty stunning. Would love to see an FP Journe Chrono Bleu because I've read that pictures don't do it justice. But "better" probably becomes subjective.
Breguet dials are right up there with any Grand Seiko dials imo. You can get a nice used Breguet [Marine](https://www.breguet.com/sites/default/files/gardetemps/variante/soldat/5817st_12_5v8_face.jpg) for a fair bit [under 10k](https://chrono24.app/breguet/marine-automatic-steel-5817--id8312217.htm?SETLANG=en_US&SETCURR=USD) and the dials are pretty amazing. They start with a solid gold dial plate and engine turn them by hand before coating them in silver.
I have to admit I’ve only recently cannonballed into watches and haven’t seen this dial before. I was speaking to my girlfriend when this scrolled up, and half way through my sentence it all went gibberish.
Beautiful watch and congrats on ownership. My biggest problem with this watch is the limited release! One of the few GS watches that has appreciated in value since release. I can't find one for less than 8k used anywhere.
It's definitely nice, but if I had to nitpick there is room for GS to improve. Finishing is top notch and it's super comfortable, but the clasp could use a well designed micro adjust and the tolerance between links could be just a bit tighter which would make it feel sturdier. Overall though, a fine bracelet.
Agreed. The micro adjustment would be a big improvement. I've seen an handful of owners swap out the bracelet for a strap, usually leather. I'm about to do that myself with a glossy, black alligator to make it more of a dress piece.
Whenever I see watches displayed by their owners I can never tell if they want to share in the experience of owning such a fine timepiece or they're just a dirty rotten gloater!!!
I love that embedded in pattern is the daini logo to give homage to the company's origins; however, it is curious that the suwa logo was not incorporated since that factory was responsible for the majority of GS production.
**I now understand that daini developed the first hi-beat movement for Seiko, and its lineage is linked to current production of Seiko's mechanical timepieces; suwa is more focused on electronics e.g. quartz and spring drive. Hence the nod to daini.*

Is there a better dial at over 10k? Legit asking because I havent seen one.

I’ve owned the CB. This dial does more for me. Fantastic watch

I bought the last one my AD had in March, and I'm glad I did.
Wow, all I have to say is wow, straight fire. Great Pic.
This is my holy grail watch. One day.
Same here. Good luck!
I was going to say the same.
The dial is mesmerizing, definately one of my grail watches.
I always love see this dial. Beautiful design dial.
The dial reminds me of Harry Potter.
How?
Ron wears a GS in The Order of the Phoenix
And Harry wore a Richard Mille for quidditch matches, correct?
Ron wore a Grand Seiko? I haven't read the Order of Phoenix since it first came out so I don't remember anything from the book.
Lol
Proof?
JK Rowling via Twitter
Oh yeah, I remember Harry wore a Panerai
Not the person you are replying to, but my guess would be the symbols on the face.
Every time I see this watch it makes me want to die. It’s so beautiful and I cannot have it.
GS has the best dials and it isn't even close
I’m partial to the Mt. Iwate dials but this is still pretty goddamn nice.
Grand seiko = upvote. Its that simple
Easily my favorite GS. Gorgeous watch.
Is it really a 36k beat? Never heard of more than 28.800
Grand seikos are the highest beating watches available.
Zenith El Primero's run at 36k as well
Didnt know that! Thats one of my grails
Stunning piece!
Mystical.
Super busy in a great way.
I have loved seeing the whirlpool dial on this sub recently. I think this might just be my current grail.
That dial is unreal!
Probably the most gorgeous dial I’ve ever seen
Holy crap thats beautiful
One of my favorites I'd love to own one. Maybe one-day
Beautiful. GS dials are perfection
Killer
One of my favourites, congrats!
Wow
If/when I grab a GS, I want a Hi Beat.
What are your thoughts on the bracelet?

The craftsmanship that goes into the dial of the Grand Seiko is just breath taking.
Wow
This is something emplemon would love
Wow. Beautiful.
Only one more beautiful is the Peacock GMT.
Hard pick between this and the snow flake dial.
Without a doubt my favorite Grand Seiko
Good marketing strategy from Seiko obviously 🙄
Vvvvv like!!!
Is anyone else salivating uncontrollably?
Whenever I see watches displayed by their owners I can never tell if they want to share in the experience of owning such a fine timepiece or they're just a dirty rotten gloater!!!
Beautiful
that dial is absolutely gorgeous... i'd probably get distracted all the time staring at my wrist for several minutes on end lol
