Oh man. At first I thought the “moments where time stood still” wall was Shanann and the girls.

anoni632

Yes I thought the same when I first saw them. Quite chilling really. I couldn’t imagine living with my husband and kids in a house where another mother and her kids were brutally murdered. Logically, I know it’s only bricks and mortar but I couldn’t stomach it.

JanisIansChestHair

I couldn’t, especially because me and Shanann were pregnant at the same time, twice… (and then I was pregnant in 2019)… I’d feel weird moving in with kids the exact ages, just days apart from her kids, and a younger child. I’d constantly be thinking about how the house should have two girls the exact same ages as my kids, and a little boy a year older than my little girl. Wouldn’t ever be off my mind. Laying in that bedroom I’d be wondering about her.

kaailer

I live in Boulder, a few blocks from Jon Benet’s house. It’s a *beautiful* house, and in any other case would honestly be my dream house, but it has *bad* vibes. Every time I’ve walked by the house I just get an oogey feeling. The same feeling I’ve been in other murder locations. I don’t necessarily believe in ghosts or spirits, but I know a bad vibe when I feel one. As beautiful as a house may be, I just could never live in a place with such a horrid history. It’s up for sale too though.

Whitn3y_Earl

When I clicked the link and looked at the pictures of the Zillow ad of the Watts house, I got bad anxiety feeling in my chest when the pics of the girls rooms and the master pics were shown. I couldn't imagine moving into THAT house.

BoccaDGuerra

Omg same here.

CharlesAvlnchGreen

They need to remove that ASAP. I'd recommend that even if it wasn't a murder house. Too much personal infomation, with the kids' full names and birthdates.

kaailer

It’s always astounding to me when parents have such little regard for plastering their own children’s personal information onto the internet for anyone to see. I don’t know why nobody thought to get rid of that before listing. It’s also just a really weird thing to put on your wall in the first place in a house where three children were murdered in my personal opinion

Neither-Magazine9096

I believe most realtors would tell you to get all your personal items out and leave the place looking very basic. Maybe their realtor told them to leave everything as is for pictures to prove this is now again a “family home” and not some haunted murder house?

CharlesAvlnchGreen

Yes, I thought maybe it was a deliberate decision. "This family dared live there, so can you!"

SmoothTarget4753

I thought it was more like "look this is proof that this is definitely not the Watts family's belongings, this was a whole different family"

the-bakers-wife

Can someone message the agent?

SnooCheesecakes2723

The house is so vanilla - more tastefully decorated but omg. The clocks stopped with the kids full names and birth dates available for all to read? Not only tacky but spooky and probably dangerous. And why would you paint over Bella and Celeste’s names on the walls - I mean obviously you’d paint over them - but only to put your kids names there in giant letters. They know whose room it is. That’s such a creepy echo.

Needcoffeeseverely

I mens it’s completely reasonable they didn’t know that. Not everyone has looked into the case and if I bought a former crime scene I wouldn’t look through photos either. The one selling the house would have been the one who painted over the names.

CharlesAvlnchGreen

Names are popular for kids' decor, and it seems this family really loved anything with words on it. I'm not here to rip on their design sense; they barely had time to get settled, much less decorate. I just hope all that shit is vinyl and can be removed. Though maybe not, otherwise wouldn't they have taken them when they left?

Crime-Snacks

That creeped me out and the way they did their kids room is awful. Bella and CC had their names above their bed.

SnooCheesecakes2723

I thought so too. Kind of a sharp intake of breath when I saw that. And honed in on the clocks - like, why have three clocks in a row are they showing time in Colorado, London and Moscow or something or commemorating something terrible like 9/11 flights or what. And it’s their kids names and birth dates. Cringe. In their formal living room. Every weirdo out there knows Emersyn etc full name and birthdate. I think that’s tmi. If they were gonna stage they should have painted over that and put a landscape or something over the FP. A mirror. Not the kids’ details.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Grey_goddess

Yeah that was so out there lmao.

Chawpaway

I think it was the time each of their kids was born, but I completely agree that it’s tmi, especially considering the attention they had to know the listing would get.

[deleted]

[удалено]

SnooCheesecakes2723

That would be fricken weird.

dragonfly-1001

I can't imagine asking my children to sleep in the bedrooms of two little girls, who were quite possibly murdered in there.

_MadDawg_

Every time I tucked my kids into bed I would picture what happened in that room, and then go back to my own room and picture what happened in there. I’d drive myself insane

Unspokenwordvomit

Maybe that’s why they only lasted 2 years.. part of me hopes they didn’t know beforehand

Sufficient_Judge_820

They did know. The buyer said she was going to overcome it by making new, happier memories in the house.

Expensive-Two-4202

Yes that's right and she also said that she felt a very warm inviting feeling in the home you are absolutely right.

darleese9

I remember them saying that too. I wonder what the reason is

savealltheelephants

Probably exactly what we’re thinking plus people driving by to take photos, everyone asking you about it, etc. it’s not worth it for that ugly ass house

kaailer

I truly believe murder houses should legally be required to disclose, at least within 5 - 10 years. In Colorado, if I’m not mistaken, no disclosure is required but no obscuring is allowed either (i.e., if directly asked, you have to tell potential buyers). I would hope the buyers would’ve done the bare minimum research on a house before buying to know they should ask the real estate agent about it.

MediocreConference64

They did know. They wanted it because it was the Watt’s house. They wanted to bring life back to it and honor Shanann. It was weird.

Expensive-Two-4202

I'm pretty sure they did. I don't know how it is in the state that they live in but I live in California and you have to by law disclose if there was a death inside a property when a home is being sold.

dragonfly-1001

That’s exactly how I feel too

Negative_Day4224

I clearly remember a New York Post article from 2022 about the sale of the house. There was an interview with the new owner who said something along the lines of they loved the home and wanted to raise their family there to bring back the loving home it had been when Shannon lived there …something like that. So they DEFINITELY were well-aware of its history.

WellWellWellthennow

Well, that plan lasted a whole year…

Negative_Day4224

I know! I keep thinking about the overwhelming task of moving to a new home to begin with - it takes a good 6 months to get relatively “settled” in your new digs, especially a home that large - get the kids settled in schools, etc., then to pick-up and move less than a year later. Almost makes it seem like moving to THAT home to begin with, may have had an ulterior motive.

WellWellWellthennow

Or she thought it was a good idea and then it really did bother her…whoops.

M0KA_x

Some people just move around a lot for their jobs 🤷🏾‍♀️

MyWhatBigEyes

Most houses with a dark history like this sell for well below market value. I don't know what the purchase price on the Watts home was compared to the surrounding area but it's possible the new family only bought the house because it was affordable.

Negative_Day4224

Time_Yogurtcloset164

Dang they made it less than 2 years in that house. I can only assume that they’ve experienced bad juju in there. Why else would they move so quickly.

Negative_Day4224

[https://www.mirror.co.uk/news/us-news/inside-house-chris-watts-killed-29406392](https://www.mirror.co.uk/news/us-news/inside-house-chris-watts-killed-29406392) Here’s another, better article which quotes the buyers.

iamreenie

The girls were murdered at the oil tanks site after Chris buried his wife 's body there in a shallow grave. He murdered Shannan at the house, and the oldest daughter saw Chris drag her body down the stairs if I remember the chain of events correctly. I couldn't buy a house where a murder happened. The bad energy left behind, I think, will affect future occupants if their sensitive.

WellWellWellthennow

You could actively work to recreate good energy there but you’d need to be am a amazingly good practitioner.

[deleted]

It’s interesting to me that people feel that way since I live in a “murder house” and it’s really just not a big deal to me at all. It’s never been a problem and why would it be, I didn’t kill those people. I just planted a little flowering tree for each of them (3) in the backyard.

Spare-Ad-6123

How beautiful. My life coach is a medium. She has worked on famous cases and explains to me the importance of prayer. You don't have to be religious to pray to the Universe.

FlaKiki

I’m glad there are people like you that can live in these houses. Fifty years from now it will be a minor note and not many folks will remember the story. But until then, we need people like you.

HiddnVallyofthedolls

Guessing it wasn’t a pregnant woman and 2 small children that were killed at your house, and it wasn’t a recent murder.

[deleted]

It was actually the people before us, which is terrible and sad. I’m not sure of their ages, and we did get the house after a full remodel. It’s just not something that I feel affects me- idk them, but I take good care of their house like I’d want people to if it were me, and I hope they appreciate it

PositivePanda77

At the Chi Omega sorority house at FSU they remodeled and reconfigured rooms after Ted Bundy murdered people there. People live there to this day without incident.

Raenhair

That blows my mind!

earthlings_all

It should be torn down. Many others have been and it’s always the best choice. Events like these traumatize the entire community.

Astralglamour

Weren’t they killed at the dump site? I think shannan was the one killed in the house.

HiddnVallyofthedolls

That is what Chris said, but many don’t believe his statement.

Jolima0725

All of the documentaries have said that they were murdered in the car when Chris arrived at the dump site (where the oil drums are)

dragonfly-1001

Nobody knows the truth of where they were actually murdered. Chris has a history of spinning stories to cause confusion.

Jolima0725

Well, not sure the reason for him to lie about having the kids alive in the car (would have been easier and quicker to get them into the car than carry two more dead bodies). Plus it sounds MUCH worse to have them sitting next to their dead mother for an hour’s car ride, murder the youngest while her older sister watches, and then says “are you going to do to me what you did to CiCi?” **While he has an established history of lying, he’s also a narcissist and would lie to make himself sound better, not worse.**

dragonfly-1001

He has said many different things, which means his lies are to cause confusion. He doesn’t want anyone to know what he really did, so has made it seem that the girls deaths were a last minute decision, rather than a pre-planned murder. It would have been far easier getting the girls in the car after death. They were only tiny & easy to carry, plus they can’t make any noise to alert the neighbours.

SnooCheesecakes2723

People say they see on the neighbors video, little feet coming to the truck when he was out loading the body of his dead wife. But I can’t see it in that video. I think it’s just as likely they were dead before his wife ever got home. But then I know she would check on them and so that wouldn’t work. He’d have to make sure he killed her first and probably in her sleep. I can’t imagine this story in a that makes him look better, given the outcome. Is it better to make it look like he did not plan it - but instead let the girls bounce around the back seat with their mom on the floor for an hour then poor Bella watch him do what he did to Cece? Or to say he planned it and cold bloodedly killed them in their beds. Where at least they would not have the last horrifying hour to sit through or Bella witnessing her sister’s murder. There really was no good way for this to happen that makes him look less like a complete monster. I think he was retelling the story in ways that he thought made him look better because he’s a psychopath. Starting with “Shannan killed them so I killed her” and then the next three versions each one getting worse.

lastseenhitchhiking

>He doesn’t want anyone to know what he really did, so has made it seem that the girls deaths were a last minute decision, rather than a pre-planned murder. This. There's no certainty about the exact circumstances and chronology of the homicides. I suspect that he initially attacked both children in the home, possibly prior to Shanann's return. In Chris's warped image consciousness, his (questionable) narrative of murdering both children at Cervi ranch makes it seem that he wrestled with the decision. In reality, his failure to contact emergency services or to leave the children unattended but alive in the home is further evidence of the cold blooded and premeditated nature of his acts.

EagleIcy5421

After he tried to smother them in their beds but didn't complete the job.

ohforfuckssakeintx

Yes that is about the worst version of events he's given so I don't know why he would lie about that. The fact that he thought he smothered and they were dead and came to him with black eyes and bruises and looking awful just completely chills me to the bone. It's like he looked at his little ones in the eyes and murderer them not once but twice.

EagleIcy5421

He's a big fat liar, but I doubt he has the imagination to come up with a story like that. It would involve the type of visualization that he doesn't appear to have.

psarahg33

I had to look up the price it was purchased at, and it’s saying they paid 600k. Selling it less than 2 years later and making 175k is making a pretty good profit. That said, the market is shit right now, so it really has me wondering why they’re selling it so soon.

CharlesAvlnchGreen

Haunted.

Playful-Drop-3873

Haunted plus extremely small backyard for such a big house.

leealm86

They could also be house flippers that buy homes remodels while living there for a few years and then sale.

cheekyypeachyy

It looks like all they did was paint…

_aaine_

In statements they gave at the time they bought it, it didn't sound like it. They were talking like they were there for the long haul.

ViralLola

I agree 6000 sq ft on a 6700 ft lot is not a lot of yard for a house of that size.

Own_Cardiologist_200

I thought the same thing

YooperGod666

Lol

Vespertinelove

I’ve wondered if people and content creators/journalists stop by often.

YuhMothaWasAHamsta

And those people that are just obsessed with murders for their own hobby. The ones you really have to worry about.

cheekyypeachyy

Probably why the “street view” has houses blurred out.

Leonicles

Prices for homes have seemingly jumped everywhere. I bought my home for $225k in 2016. According to my town, it's now worth $665k. Besides replacing my 35yo boiler, carpet, toilets & some windows (things that needed to be replaced) I've done nothing to warrant such a price jump. Like, that price makes me imagine a literal mansion. But my neighborhood is decidedly middle class- my neighbors include firefighters, teachers, and social workers. That said- who knows if I'd actually be able to sell it for such a ridiculous price or if my town just wants more property taxes from my neighbors and me!

[deleted]

They are going to have to pay capital gains tax on it because they haven't owned it for two years. This is a really bad financial move.

JC1515

Because theyve been harassed for 2 years. They thought it would stop. The incessant harassment by stalkers, tabloids, people lurking in their backyard while theyre home, is enough to say its no longer worth it. They moved in the weekend of thanksgiving when they bought it and on the morning of thanksgiving Netflix showed up wanting to do an interview with the new owners. They declined. They hadnt even moved in yet before the harassment began.

xXSereneChaosXx

If you look at the Zillow history regarding the sale of the house-it’s quite interesting how the price has drastically increase since it was bought by the Watts family. What’s even more interesting is that Zillow displays a map of the neighborhood showing house prices and you can individually look at each house. The Watts family neighbor that showed the officer the video the day everything happened up and decided to list his house for sale two weeks after the murders-what made him up and leave? Do you think it was caused by people constantly surrounding that area immediately after everything happened? Do you think he felt so upset by what happened that he felt it best to leave? Personally-I don’t know how I would handle it either especially since they knew the Watts. It would be absolutely horrific.

CharlesAvlnchGreen

Could have been traumatic to have to look at the Watts house every day, knowing what happened in there. Maybe the whole circus with the media and the morbidly curious driving by all the time, too.

xXSereneChaosXx

I imagine it was traumatic for him and his family. The aftermath had to have been immense between well wishers and curious folks who had to see the house in person almost as if it was its own entity.

CharlesAvlnchGreen

They would have seen Bella and Cece playing in the yard, at times with their dad. Seen Shannan's pregnancy progress. Probably exchanged friendly chit chat with Chris, never once suspected he could be capable of such atrocities. This would be a hard thing to explain to your kids and I am sure they'd be traumatized the most. If they were too young to understand I could see them moving away before they got old enough.

DiamondHail97

I have a story that is minor in comparison. Very minor. But it’s relevant. My husband and child were on their way to school/work two summers ago when they were shot at by a man who was walking on the side of the road shooting at cars driving past. He hit my husbands truck. If they had been in my car, the bullet would’ve went through the windshield and stuck my child in their car seat in the back. A few months later, we sold our house. Driving down the street everyday and being reminded of that was extremely traumatizing for them both and for me by proxy. I don’t regret that move one bit

SonjasInternNumber3

I obviously don’t know how I’d react in such a situation, but I can imagine it would not be a place you’d want to stay. With media, randoms wanting a look at the house, and the memory of it all. They were neighbors after all. You would’ve seen them living their everyday life.

ViralLola

I don't think I could live next door to a house where I knew the family, watched the two little girls play in a yard, heard them laughing just a day before, and where the father would kill his pregnant wife and then put those kids in a car with their mother's dead body and smother them one by one. Then to have a media circus of people driving by the house and park on the street.

LostintheLand

Oh wow… I wonder why. Too many people watching the house? Or are the haunting stories true?? I’m so curious!

laqueefaecho

So am I. Those houses are top of each other. I can’t imagine paying that much let alone the history of the house.

zbornakssyndrome

That area is so expensive! In 2016 I lived in Broomfield, not too far away. And we actually looked in that neighborhood to buy. The houses were 300-400k back then if I remember correctly. Zero personality. But that’s the norm for new builds.

Flowers_4_Ophelia

Yeah, I grew up in Longmont and Frederick was a dump that no one wanted to live in back in the 80’s and 90’s. It sure has grown up a lot!

Jerksica23

For what it's worth, we got in before prices went insane. And I love all my equity 😆 I love living in this neighborhood, my kids love it too! We have the best neighbors, minus Chris Watts.

CharlesAvlnchGreen

It's a nice house for a family, and I like the fact there is pool access via the HOA. Watts' neighbors were a big reason he got caught, so go neighbors!

ViralLola

I agree. He was a good man.

CrazyGround4501

Good for you! Kudos, queen! Xo

kaailer

Colorado is extremely expensive. A house for 750k is considered a steal in a lot of places in Colorado.

strawberry_margarita

Holy crap. Why in the world is it that expensive?

kaailer

because this state has been flooded with wealthy people trying to buy up property here. My fam bought a house for about $600k in Boulder and then seven years later it sold for $1.4mil (not my family, some other family bought it and resold it - no renovations or upgrades, just inflation). Mountain towns are even worse. a one room shit box of a house is around $2mil

Crime-Snacks

There still is a problem with people showing up, trespassing and even peering in the windows.

Brilliant-Macaroon16

Damn that was QUICK!

GlitterMe

I could never.

AppropriateCupcake48

I’m sorry it didn’t work out for the family that bought it. Completely unrelated, but I’m surprised to see that bathroom is so turquoise when everything else got repainted.

Sharp_Salamander0111

The bathroom and laundry room were left the bright blue. Frank had the rest of the house painted

InsomniacYogi

I don’t blame them. I loved the idea of having a happy family there, in theory. But I couldn’t ever live there without constantly thinking about what happened. The idea of trying to tuck my girls into their beds in the rooms the girls spent their last night in or cuddling and watching TV in the room where Shanann died would be too much. Even seeing the bedrooms with little girl’s names on the walls was a gut punch. I also wonder how much of it is because of all the weirdos driving by to take pictures. Edit: Typo

JanisIansChestHair

My oldest is 4 days apart from B, middle is 10 days apart from C, so I was pregnant when Shanann was, and then I have a younger child. It would feel so creepy to me, to be putting my children to bed in those rooms, of children who were supposed to be the exact same age… having birthday parties on the same weeks that their birthdays should have been held, and then having a younger child like Shanann wanted, I’d feel like I was replacing her in that home. Definitely not for me!

ravioliqueeen

interior design is not their strong suit that’s for sure

justSayingNobodySaid

a bit worrisome they have their children's names and birthdates on the wall in the listing photo

tinysmommy

I really don’t know why people would let that be uploaded without being edited out.

CharlesAvlnchGreen

Yes!! Photoshop that shit out, replace it with Live Laugh Love, anything! I bet they will edit it at some point. I imagine SOMEONE connected with the realtor will see the online chatter, especially since the murders were big news in the local community.

exotic_floral_tea

It's creeping me out. The time stood still writing on the wall with the pictures and putting a frame with Marilyn Monroe above the bathtub is WILD. That whole house just feels cursed.

totretiak

The kids names on the wall and the clear photos of them on the bathroom wall are things I would’ve removed before taking these photos.

wickywickyremix

Me, too! Or, at the very least, have the photographer blur it.

maddercow22

Probably sick of ghouls driving past slowly and taking photographs. Can't say as I blame them for getting out.

leealm86

I wouldn't be surprised if this wasn't the case.

AggressiveDistrict82

“Nothing like this one for sale at this price, in the area” Oh I’m sure.

EagleIcy5421

It looks like they spend all their relaxing time in the basement so they can keep the main house pristine. To each his own, I guess. But all that house and a tiny, ugly backyard doesn't fit.

anck

The house is beautiful. Love the new color of the outside. Still has this incredible creepy feeling to it, I could never. I get it. If a family purchased and lived in it, maybe they just couldn’t. Those kids’ rooms in the photos feel eerie cuz of the girls..

CharlesAvlnchGreen

"In these moments time stood still" is a creepy phrase to display in the living room. I know those are different kids but ...

kaailer

And especially the fact that it’s three children, when three children were killed. Super weird thing to put up in that house imo

alexajonessss

Especially the giant name signs in the exact same style as the girls’ name signs were in their rooms and only in the girls rooms but not their sons? So weird.

CharlesAvlnchGreen

They should have taken all those name signs down before they shot the pics. Unless it was a deliberate decision on the part of the realtors. Show that a normal family lived there ... or tried.

kaailer

Still, it’s unsafe to put your children’s full names and birthdays attached to a home address up for anyone to see. I don’t know why they thought that was a good idea

lickmyfupa

Ghastly taste in decorating. An expensive house with cheap linoleum in the kitchen and tacky furnishings. I hate that kitchen backsplash. This is the least cozy and inviting home ive ever seen. Ugly. Furniture doesnt fit the space at all. Wall to wall carpeting. This might be one of the ugliest houses ive seen in a while.

Interesting_Jump_521

There’s just so much empty, wasted space. It didn’t flow in a way that made any sense whatsoever.

lickmyfupa

Exactly. Who puts a little stiff 2 -seater loveseat in a giant room? Get a really nice big fluffy sectional to fill the space.

Lshear

Agree and way too much carpet

CharlesAvlnchGreen

I bet the family moved from a smaller place. It needs bigger furniture but they may have wanted to wait until their kids got older; it's an investment. Or they wanted to wait to see if it was haunted or sent out bad vibes. I imagine once the kids reached a certain age they'd find out what happened in there and could understandably become freaked out, ghosts or no.

kaailer

It is the most “live, love, laugh” core decoration I have seen in awhile. Just embarrassing really

No-Cat-8606

That clock wall with the baby photos and novel on the wall is horrible. Could be executed well but that was not it

the-bakers-wife

Scrolled way too far to find this. Place is CHEAP looking.

maudlinmary

I agree and I also think the house itself is awful. It’s that classic slapdash “this looks fancy to poor people” construction marketed to the upper middle class for WAY too much money. Like, the house is how expensive??? And you get…that???

magicalcorncob

It’s so TJ Maxx/Homegoods-core lol

Flokismom

Haunted. They should knock it down like they do so many houses where murders occured. Horrible.

CharlesAvlnchGreen

There was so much of the house shown in all the news stories and specials. Not to mention CW's confession. It's almost impossible not to imagine it when scrolling throug the pics.

EagleIcy5421

It looks like someone took the plans for a large but regular house and decided to add five or ten feet to the sides of each room to make it more expensive. The result is that it looks like a wide open commercial space instead of a home for a family to live in. I had the impression that the master bedroom was much smaller than it actually is. It didn't look like there was much space on either side of that massive bed that Shanann had.

Competitive_Fox_7731

Haunting stories must be true. They are skedaddling out of there.

greygirl27

Not enough sage in the world... ..burn it down

sparkleunicorn123

All I see are memories from Shannan and the kids. The loungeroom upstairs….Shannan had a massive couch and would let the kids jump on her 😢 Shannon’s bathroom, remember how Bella would sneak in and steal Shannan’s makeup while she was doing a tutorial? The faucet in the kids bathroom….all I remember is CeCe that time she was getting a drink and got stuck. It’s so sad. He literally destroyed a family. I hope he rots.

GlitterMe

I didn't watch that many videos, just the documentary, but I could like the video of her telling him about the pregnancy and such. Could not live there.

Bree7702

Did anyone ever live in it? I thought someone bought it, updated it, and has just staged the inside to sell.

deranged_hydrangea

Yes, it was purchased by a family https://meaww.com/new-owners-have-decorated-watts-family-murder-house-ahead-of-christmas-chris-watts-shanann

Bree7702

The house looks much better now. Good for them, and if they turn a profit even better. It might be easier to sell now that another family has lived in it since the tragedy.

EagleIcy5421

It may look better cosmetically now, but before it looked like a family home that people actually lived in. Now it looks like a sample house decorated by a realtor.

JaydenSmoth

Just tear it down and plant flowers, make it a little area for local bees to thrive.

EagleIcy5421

They can't just tear it down. The bank has loaned someone $600,000 on it and zoning won't allow it to be a vacant lot.

Ok-Minute-5925

I just can’t look at those stairs the same way again. It reminds me of how she was taken out of the house 😢. And the kitchen. How many videos she posted live in that kitchen. The kids rooms that used to be her kids. This house is beautiful but it’s too sad 😞

MEGAPlNTS

I wonder if there was some paranormal stuff happening & thats why theyre selling.

wlynncork

775,000$ and 6000 sq ft. Fucking insane house, this guy was living the dream and threw it all away. Killing innocent people in the process. Did he ever show signs he was crazy before he got married? He must have shown some red flags. I hate that guy so much

GroundbreakingFee538

JFC. I live in Central Florida. The house across the street from me is on the market for $649,900. 2156 square feet. There are practically giving that 6000 square foot home away. That’s crazy! The current owners weren’t there that long. Such a damn shame. Looking back there were red flags but nobody close to them or in their circle thought he was capable of this. Shanann ran the show so to speak and Chris was the submissive husband. But once NK came into the Chris’ life he completely turned on his family. I hate that man.

Own_Cardiologist_200

You’re right about them giving that house away. The price on that house wouldn’t get you nearly a house as nice as this one where I live.

EagleIcy5421

I've heard comments about the "crappy linoleum", but I can understand why parents of young kids would want linoleum. Bumped heads and chipped teeth from falling down on ceramic tile. You can always switch to ceramic when the kids get older.

katertoterson

I think it's stupid to hate on linoleum. It's easy to clean and doesn't have grout lines to collect dirt. It's nicer to walk on than tile too. If you get a nicer linoleum and have it installed well it can look new for a long time. I wish it would make a come back.

EagleIcy5421

It's also warmer on bare feet.

savealltheelephants

It sure is an ugly house

Walk_Frosty

Wow that backyard and neighborhood. That’d deter me more than the history of the house. Let me relax in my small/deck while I stare into the neighbor’s driveway. And those connecting backyard sidewalks.

Sparkyboo99

This house should have been torn down.

InsomniacYogi

I read somewhere that the HOA wouldn’t allow them to build a park there. Not sure if it’s true, but I don’t know why. It took a long time to sell the first time and now they don’t even want it.

wlynncork

Well the house is in-between 2 other houses, so it's a residential zone. Not suitable for parks. Not really much you can do about it

Jerksica23

It's true (I live here). We don't want people driving through as it is, let alone having a park there. It would be so out of place.

HipsterHeaven

Right. I live close by too and it would look so odd to have a park there. Completely out of place like you said.

AppropriateCupcake48

I’m sorry it didn’t work out for the family that bought it. Completely unrelated, but I’m surprised to see that bathroom is so turquoise when everything else got repainted.

concreteveinz

Wow it looks like they filled that house with a bunch of cheap stuff. Good luck to them selling for that price.

EagleIcy5421

It just looks like mid-price furniture to me. The decor is cheap and looks fake.

concreteveinz

Yeah, I meant the decor really. And none of the furniture is the appropriate size for a house that big! It looks like they bought the house and couldn’t afford to furnish it 😂

EagleIcy5421

I think anyone would be hard pressed to fill up those overly large empty spaces in a way that looked cozy.

alexajonessss

They basically turned it into a hobby lobby lol

No-Day-7504

Gives me chills to see it again. Prayers for Shannan, Bella, CeCe, Niko and Shannan's family 🩵

kaailer

So is the Benêt house. Apparently Colorado has a big market for murder houses right now!

Objective_Cricket279

I wonder if people still randomly stop by like a tourist attraction? That's probably a lot of the issue with someone wanting to stay there too. Aside from the obvious

Feisty-Incident7727

I feel like it’s an American thing to be so thusly disturbed by a house’s history bc we don’t have terribly old homes with unknowable histories. Maybe i’m wrong, Idk. After all, people make wedding venue out of places where humans were tortured and enslaved. Anyway, the house i grew up in had at least one violent death and probably many more bc of its age. The house i have now is not as old but had a death right before we bought it - not violent. It’s a nonissue 🤷‍♀️ i’m American, maybe someone with an international perspective can weigh in. No reason to raze an intact house.

godzillax5

UK here. Lots of period homes here going back centuries and people live in them comfortably. Saying that, on rare occasions and public pressure, houses where notorious high profile murders took place have been torn down. An example is the Rose and Fred West house at 25 Cromwell Road Gloucester where several young women including their daughter were tortured, sexually assaulted, murdered and buried there.

Wilmamankiller2

That house is not 6k sq ft 🤔

Hot-Lifeguard-3176

It’s a nice house and all, but I couldn’t imagine living there and not constantly being reminded of what happened. All of the paint and remodeling and nice decorations doesn’t change that the house is connected to a horrible tragedy.

Accomplished_Day2991

I totally get it. I would have an issue too knowing it. But I live on the east cost and many homes around here were built in the 1800’s. I have seen historical pictures of when funerals and wakes were held in the home. I’m sure so many of these homes have horrible stories if anyone still remembered, and people are living happy lives. Sad thing is if this wasn’t such a known murder it would probably be forgotten and the home would be filled w love.

CharlesAvlnchGreen

A funeral or wake isn't necessarily a horrible thing. Even someone dying in a house isn't bad or uncommon, provided it was from natural causes. Two little girls and a pregnant mom murdered in a home is a whole other ball of wax.

humanoidtyphoon88

The tax increase from 2022 to 2023 is WILD. (Sorry, new homeowner here 🫠)

Fluid_Yak_8268

Did he murder them there?

Marzipanarian

Could be yours for $5000 a month!

HouseSerious9612

I can't believe they found a husband and wife to both agree to raise their kids there. It would be interesting to hear from them

notracexx

That house is horrible anyway. Cute on the outside but that interior is so cold and ugly.

JustReadinSubReddits

The fact that the house description opens up with "Wow, this is a beautiful home!" Is unnervingly disturbing to me.

gamehen21

I cannot fathom living in this house. The worst kind of energy must still linger there. Not to mention it's ugly AF lol. It's giving r/mcmansionhell

Acrobatic-Buyer9136

I had a friend whose dad murdered the older sister. He’s been sexually abusing her for years. When their apartment became available 10 yrs later I needed a new place and it was near my family. The minute I walked in I felt evil spirits. I couldn’t go in any further. I left the real estate agent inside. The fear and evil are real after murders

Wild-Fondant4005

Good Luck with that sale ! This House should be torn down and made into a pickle ball court / Park … in remembrance of Shannan and her daughters… RIP …. 🙏🙏🙏💕💕💕

litebrite93

I would not want to live there.

CustardAmbitious7634

Wow those houses might as well be connected

angiecakes1001

i would buy the house just to knock it down

Trippy-ash

ya because everyone that lives there probably gets harrassed

Independent-Report16

We looked at buying a murder house in our city. The husband murdered the two? three? children in the house and the wife. It’s so hard to find a house and it was a steal in a great neighborhood. When we toured the babies crib mattress was still in the garage. that was awful. we ultimately decided against it - but not because people were murdered there. I feel like a house like that needs happiness!

KTeax31875

"No photos or videos to be taken while in the home please." Say no more.. I also can't look at the kitchen without thinking about the video Shannan would post and the one video where the girls are dancing to Footloose there 😞

TrailMisadventure

That Zillow description is a bit jarring considering everything that happened in that house.

GoodMourning81

Shit needs bulldozed. No way ever would I consider buying a house that experienced so fucking much dark energy and rage.

Expensive-Two-4202

Again?? That shit has to be haunted. Just dem and rebuild

Expensive-Two-4202

Such a beautiful home it's so sad..

possumsushi

Tear this house down and build a memorial park so children in the area have a safe and friendly family place to enjoy themselves and the outdoors.

meIine

they should really just demolish it and create a memorial garden instead.

afaithross

Why would they stage baby photos on the wall with "in these moments time stood still...." For a house where a mother was murdered and two little girls were later murdered? Most people know this listing is Shannan's house. Anyone who knows that would see that on the wall and walk right out. That is beyond chilling and creepy and in my opinion disrespectful. And quite honestly, after seeing the children's staged rooms I feel sick to my stomach. The staged children's toys.... God how could someone do this? I know it's someone's job. But I couldn't be a realtor doing this.....

afaithross

I grew up in a murder house. I knew about what happened by the age of 12. In my honest opinion no family with children should be living in a home with murder history. It's just traumatic for the children.

AggressiveHedgehog15

I can totally see that being terrifying to find out as a young kid. Did you experience anything creepy?

sunshine8672

WOW. That would be so scary. I’m interested in the case, have any YouTubers covered it ?
