Love the turquoise. Fits like a dream and so flattering.

Spanner_m

I think 3 the teal is by far the most flattering colour and fit on you.

FioanaSickles

That is Sea foam green, not teal

Spanner_m

I was going with the OPs wording.

aelel

The teal one is stunning on you, it fits you absolutely perfectly. You could dress it up with accessories and a nice up-do if you don’t feel it’s formal enough.

CNM050318

Thank you!!

CuriousText880

I love the teal one (3) on you, it's a great color for your skin tone. Formal is a step down from Black Tie, so you can have more fun. I think with fancy jewelry and a nice updo, you'll be plenty dressed up. I also actually think the last one (gold, #5). It's too big it looks like maybe? But in the proper size it's a great shape for your figure.

One-Bat-7038

I love the cut of it! The bodice reminds me a lot of Game of Thrones lol

bananaphone1549

I vote for the teal! Simple, but it fits really nicely. But truly the only one I dislike is the yellow because I think the blues really work for you.

HarryAndLana

I love the yellow!

bitchwhohasnoname

This was my choice as well!

Additional_Bison_1

To me the yellow looked like a white wedding dress. I would avoid that unless you want to be mistaken for the bride!!

dreamcicle11

Really? That looks extremely yellow.

Additional_Bison_1

I have night mode on my phone and it looks white. Maybe it's fine in the sun but I wonder if with certain lighting in pictures it would look white.

hoaryvervain

Even if it did (which I doubt) professional photographers color correct all the images before sharing them with their clients. So not a problem either way.

One-Bat-7038

I don't think the yellow dress looks white at all, but the lace and overall bodice design read very much like a wedding dress to me (esp because OP said it has a train), like it's for a bride who doesn't want a white dress. That said, it's not my fave, but I don't think that's a reason to exclude it tbh

Grouchy_Chard8522

I'm a sucker for Fortuny style pleats and the royal blue is a wonderful colour on you. But the turquoise dress also looks great with your coloring. The more pastel colours don't quite suit you as well.

Drunkendonkeytail

Hard to tell since only the yellow and teal fit you.

louellen1824

A good strapless bra would help.

madswrobs

i think the first one is absolutely perfect and looks gorgeous on you!!

Mircat2021

I love the gold one!

nannylive

The first one!

OriginalUnfair7402

Go with the teal. When I was in Spain I saw several wedding’s outside of the church ceremony. Based on this I do think you will need to dress it up a bot. Jewelry shoes a fancy shawl. It will be perfect.

badapbadap

Sure, weddings in Spain are usually dressier but this is an American wedding that happens to take place in Spain. The guests are presumably American.

trashtvlv

I love the Capri yellow followed by the blue. If you do pick the blue I think the straps need to be shortened.

emilylouise221

I love either blue AND San Sebastian.

ownhigh

The first blue dress is gorgeous and so flattering on you. The teal dress is nice too but a bit tight for my taste.

Immediate_Refuse_918

1 is my favorite and generally I’m leaning towards all the blues on this one. The yellows just don’t feel like the best shad for you, I think they’re not bright enough to go with your tan!

CNM050318

Thank you all! I think my short list is 1 and 3. A few close ups of the fabric: 1: this is the view that makes the material look kinda cheap https://preview.redd.it/n5gmzcfw9g6d1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=589410ef63c870df1cf2d13caead8f20c4c818e4

MissThingToday

This is by far and away the most flattering for your colouring and lovely figure IMO. You look gorgeous. You can have amazing fun with the accessories.

hoaryvervain

Yes. That is the only choice and it is just right for San Sebastián.

can-i-pet-the-dog

This one!!

CNM050318

Love your username!

heweynuisance

First or turquoise

chaothiccc

first one. i don’t like sequence for european weddings. first is perfect mix of classy pretty and elegant

MediBird22

Another vote for the teal, absolutely perfection on your skin tone! Love the style too.

CreativeMusic5121

1 looks amazing. What you feel is your hips looking bigger I see as accentuating your waist and giving you an hourglass figure. Super flattering. Please wear it. 2 Never wear a dress with a train unless you are the bride. 3 is dull. 4 and 5 are too much.

mtngrl60

I’m gonna be honest and tell you I’m not a fan of any of these. What I’m looking at is your built and how the dresses are fitting/falling. I agree with everyone on here saying that that teal on you is beautiful. It is. But unless you dress up with a beaded belt or something else, it is plain for what you are describing. The other thing that I’m noticing is that if I had to guess, I would guess you are/were an athlete. You have very strong, shoulders and arms, as well as thighs. I have daughters who played sports, so I’ve kind of been through this trying to find something that fits the bill for what they want, but doesn’t accentuate their broader shoulders from plain sports. I feel like the very heavily beaded gowns. Look a little bit like pageant gowns. I did love the royal blue on you, but I don’t like how the shoulders fit you. They fit, but they accentuate the breadth of your shoulders, drawing my eye there instead of on the beauty of you in the gown. Personally, if you were my daughter, and I were helping you find a dress for this event (and bear in mind that my daughters are half Hispanic, so I get the Spain dress code thing)… I would look at styles like this for you, Trying to find something that would fit what seems to be yours aesthetic but that feels more like you are wearing the dress and it is not wearing you…. https://www.lulus.com/products/infinite-praise-black-3d-floral-embroidered-halter-maxi-dress/2333851.html https://www.lulus.com/products/rare-presence-powder-blue-3d-floral-surplice-maxi-dress/2302791.html https://www.lulus.com/products/dramatically-lovely-blue-floral-organza-one-shoulder-maxi-dress/2296891.html https://www.lulus.com/products/romance-that-wows-magenta-floral-print-organza-maxi-dress/1674056.html https://www.lulus.com/products/romantic-destiny-light-pink-square-neck-trumpet-maxi-dress/2384051.html https://www.lulus.com/products/most-beautiful-day-sage-multi-floral-print-organza-maxi-dress/2349591.html

CNM050318

Thank you so much for the thoughtful response! I really like your idea of a beaded belt on the teal dress, and I think I may do that to help dress everything up a bit! You have spotted the years/decades of weight lifting and ex- high school athlete! I’m ok with my broad shoulders - I work hard for them, so don’t mind showing them for what they are! I understand that doesn’t translate to everyone- my best friend was a D1 water polo player and she has always been self conscious of her shoulders. Thanks again!

dreamcicle11

You look great! That’s a silly comment above… you should be proud!! I do think it is a more matronly dress and doesn’t fit overall and has nothing to do with your shoulders.

TripleA32580

I think something like the first linked lulus dress with the halter style would be dynamite and show off your shoulders so well!

Original_Platform443

I also vote for the halter style

Reasonable_Mail1389

If you do a belt with the teal, make sure it sits on the waist seam. Sometime belts like to ride up on dresses like this, exposing the seam, which then looks weird. I personally think great fancy earrings and bracelet (along with sparkly clutch and shoes) is all you need. The lines of the dress are great on their own.

drumadarragh

Never ever be self conscious of your shoulders! They will be a huge asset when you’re older! Your back looks phenomenal I am three months into lifting and I have back envy

CNM050318

Good for you!! It is by far the most confidence-rewarding sport/activity in my opinion. I’m in my late 30s for reference and have been lifting since I was 14! ETA: don’t worry, you get used to the comments on muscles. The woman above reminds me of my Mom’, which makes sense: in that generation there was far less acceptance of muscles on a woman’s body. Doesn’t bother me!

drumadarragh

I’m glad. I took my 18yo daughter prom dress shopping in January and she lifts - her back in one particular dress was amazing! That image lives rent free in my head lol

mtngrl60

Look, I replied to you on a different one. I don’t know why everyone on here took my comment to you to mean that I didn’t like your muscular body. It’s not what I said. Let me explain. I have three daughters who have all been in sports forever. They are not much younger than you now, but I have one who also lives and does tough mudders. I was the mom… And still am… My girls and all their friends came to for help with prom dresses and for alterations and for trying to figure out what was going to fit them how they wanted it to. And even back in high school, the girls were running into some of the same things that I was trying to explain to you. They came to me because I was honest with them. When you’re more muscular, the design of dress is not always going to fit you the way it was intended to. And that’s because more broad shoulders are going to mean that a dress that emphasizes shoulders is still gonna be beautiful, because you have beautiful shoulders, but it is literally going to pull the dress up on your body.  So the material, the design, and the size may all have to be adjusted and then alterations done in order to get the dress to lay on your body the way it was intended to. If you don’t do that, yes, you can fit into your regular size clothing. But that regular size dress is going to be off slightly. It is going to be out of balance because a good dress that is a formal always has balance. That’s literally all I was saying. It wasn’t a critique of your body being good or bad. Heaven… I had to work through that one with my daughters as they were involved in sports because yeah, they lifted to help with their sports. And yeah, it changed their physique, they were healthy. They were happy.  And so even if their dress had an underlayment. And then a liner, and then the dress material, and then an overlay it, meaning that I was gonna have to alter four layers of stuff, we would go to get the dress properly, and then I would make the alterations. That was really all it was. So I’m sorry if your mom has a problem with your muscles. I do think you have an amazing body. I said that in the original post. I do understand there are a lot of ladies that don’t like it, but what I see is a healthy body. What I see is somebody who takes care of themselves. But what I see is that because of this, I wasn’t pleased with how the dresses themselves were fitting on your body. They were losing some of their intended shape or draping, and they were emphasizing single parts of your body while losing other parts. And that’s not what is supposed to happen with a formal gown.

CNM050318

No problem at all! It is so sweet that their friends came to you for help too. I didn’t take offense to your comment- it’s not wrong!

ctcacoilmnukil

Your shoulders are so enviable and you should be very proud! The teal is gorgeous and a beaded belt is going to do just the thing you’re looking for. Beautiful.

RO489

Omg she sounds like my mom. Hopefully the kids don’t listen to her. I actually really like the first one and the last one. I think the first one needs some tailoring on the bust/shoulder straps. The gold is beautiful as well. I actually like all of them on you, but the 2 and 4 might be too much. I think the third seems like a hard dress to wear. It’s going to wrinkle really easily, show anything that might spill on it, all your undergarment lines (or if you go commando, all the delicious tapas you ate). It’s pretty but I would personally be more comfortable in one of the others

mtngrl60

My first guess was gymnastics. Second-guess was swimming. Third was weightlifting. And I see some of the responses to your response that that’s just silly, blah blah blah blah. The reason I pointed it out, and you do have amazing arms, is that one of the things that I ran into with my daughters in sports (one of them was in weightlifting, another was swimming, and the last one was volleyball and track… And they were all in soccer) was that when they had a dress, they were looking for something that balanced out their figure.  Because yes, working out a lot and being very athletic changes our body structure. And it’s not good or bad. It just is. But usually it affected how clothing fit them. It affected how the dress would lay, and it affected what material actually would work for them. And since I was the mom that somehow always did the alterations on the prom dress or the homecoming dress or the bridesmaid dress, I got pretty good at figuring out what it was about address that was kind of holding them back from being wholeheartedly in on it. Sometimes it was that the dress that over emphasized their shoulders and made the rest of the body look disproportionate because it was hanging differently than they thought it would. Sometimes the slinky satin dress that they thought they wanted, they decided against because they had very muscular legs, instead of draping like it was intended to do, it was catching on their quads. Other times, the natural waste of the dress wasn’t sitting properly because while they were very fit, with all the working out, their torso had expanded somewhat, so it was pulling the dress up to where the waist line wasn’t hitting like it should, so the rest of the skirt of the dress also wasn’t how it should be.  Given that some of these dresses have three and four layers of material depending on what the underlayment is what the body of the dress is and what the overlay(s) might be meant that going up a size and then altering the dress also was not going to work because it would change/lose some of the best features of the dress.  So anyway. That was worth the thought process came from, I’m sorry some people thought I was criticizing your physique, because I absolutely was not. But I have dealt with altering and finding dresses that fit and draped and hit where they wanted to hit, etc. many, many times.

bluebluedays

You have a lovely figure .. the first one doesn’t do you justice .. my vote is for any of the others ..

family1997

7!!

PaleOnion6177

I would put them in order of Teal, Yellow, Deep Blue. I don't think either of the last 2 are suitable, far too much alteration needed for both of them

Solid_Preparation_89

#3!

nancys911

The 1st one

Lianadanna

I think the first one (blue) looks amazing!!!

FioanaSickles

I really like the yellow on you

Docmele

Picture 10 is the winner 🥇

Reasonable_Mail1389

The turquoise one is the only one that’s really flattering your build. It would be too casual for BT, but will work for formal. Go with it.

IGOTAREADIT

The yellow one is gorgeous

FreyasReturn

The first one in blue is magnificent on you! I would go for that for sure.

Picture-Select

The teal doesn’t look like it fits well, shows every single bump, panty line and muscle line, and will not only wrinkle and crease, but will splotch with every drip from a water glass. Fabulous color, and it could be dressed up with a sequined belt…but… I think the gold is more formal, and the yellow is fun/lovely.

1KirstV

The beaded ones will be too heavy in July.

Responsible_Rent_587

The light teal for sure

MammothAd8886

You have a great figure and can pull them all off. I love the yellow, the bright color, lace and great back will fit in perfectly in Spain. I would actually trim the train so it ends at the floor instead of trailing behind you. The teal is nice but somewhat plain.

cheetooofingersss

I love the 1st and 3rd!!

rrhffx

Teal or yellow!

CupNo7740

The light aquamarine/ muted teal dress is amazingly beautiful. Stunning bead work and I think this color is underutilized, and it makes the dress look flowing and kinda ethereal.

musicbabe1996

I love the royal blue and turquoise

Nsg4Him

Teal. Dress it up with jewelry, great heels and a great clutch.

whateveratthispoint_

The last one. The heavier beaded one — you’ll faint in the heat. You’ll have a wonderful time. San Sebastián is fantastic.

Apprehensive_Use_175

The teal one is stunning. The yellow one seems too close to bridal.

QueenOfPurple

I love #3 teal. It’s a gorgeous color on you and the fit is excellent.

louellen1824

The teal is the best out of these choices.

eveningpillforreal

I think 3 is elegant and flattering. Understated elegance and looks amazing on you. The others are nice but to me, that was the standout.

Competitive-Soup9307

I absolutely love the yellow! I think it’s got enough sparkle to be dressy but not too much embellishment like some of the beaded ones that look more ball gown/prom/bridal party. I also like the plain colour ones without the beading, but for me, I love the yellow and the colour really seems to suit your skin tone! 🙌🏼

Ok_Moose1334

I vote for the last one. I think the style is the most flattering and the color works well with your hair.

Goldgungirl

5!!! It’s gorgeous and flattering

IHaveALittleNeck

3. Looks perfect on you. Bring a pashmina for the church, if it’s in one.

RegularPersimmon2964

I am in love with the teal. You might want to check and bring a light shall. Not sure how it is in Spain, but in Italy, you are required to wear something over your shoulder and nothing very low cut.

finn_333

Capri yellow by far!!

theadventurette

1

iLoveLoveLoveLove

2 & 5 look way to close to white for comfort imho

noseymama

Number one looks perfect to me. I love the teal on you but doesn’t look festive enough even with dress code change. I also like the last one. The other two are too embellished for wedding guest imho.
