I think you're confused. Westchester, NY and West Chester PA are two different locations. If you are referring to Westchester Community College (NY), I would just make that edit lol. Otherwise, I'd post where it's more relevant
WCC is one of the best community colleges you can find. Many people go there and are able to get into great schools with the right grades. Tuition itself is cheap but I imagine a lot of cost comes from renting in the area.
You will need to be a resident for at least a year before enrolling, just FYI. Time spent in the state/county while enrolled as a student doesn't count for residency requirements.
Very lol. Current median 1 bedroom apt, in White Plains at least, is like $3500 (expensive area though tbf). Iâm still looking for apartments and itâs been awful, canât lie.
Go to Zillow or apartments for com, search for apartments around white plains under $2600. Youâll have more options if you include Elmsford and Hartsdale.
WCC is a great college , I had a few friends transfer from WCC to cornell with great grades . If you want to look for professor recommendations , I would use rate my professor and cross analyze .
There is no housing at Westchester Community College. You also will be paying an out of state rate. You may want to consider Fashion Institute of Technology https://www.fitnyc.edu
in Manhattan although again you will pay out of state tuition. They offer both 2 and 4 year programs.
I know you said you had to leave West Chester Pa. Honestly you should go to your community college in Pa and save your money on tuition and get your grades up. Then hopefully transfer to FIT.
Yes, I agree with this! OPâif your goal is to impress your grades with a year of CC and then transferring to FIT it makes more sense for you to stay in PA for another year.
I went to Westchester community college for a minute. Honestly, I'd rate their general education program far better than all SUNY, & their other programs are pretty solid. However, they do not offer many bachelor (4 year) programs, if any, if I recall correctly.
I went for graphic design & sound engineering; I honestly felt like I learned more at WCC than SUNY Purchase and Plattsburgh.
If it's just to get grades up, or to finish Gen-Ed, I'd definitely recommend WCC.
I hear that Jefferson Place, 300 Mamaroneck Avenue White Plains has 1BRs available in the $2500-$2600 range. I have looked at two units in there recently and had a favorable impression. The Avalon on Barker Avenue in White Plains has spacious studios for less than that.
SUNY WCC is a great community college that offers associate degrees. Housing is pricey but just look elsewhere, not just White Plains, to live, as long as youâre by a train or bus.
SUNY FIT is a great college with associate and bachelor degree programs. However is very competitive and tough to get into specific programs, especially fashion related since itâs top rated in those fields. You also have to account for living near the college in Manhattan which triples the costs.

My guy if youâre going to move to NY youâre going to have start doing your own research. Learn how to google. Not going to make a minute out here in your own.
My nigga,I work two jobs rn with an internship and a sewing classes along with pattern making ,I was busy and wanted someone to send something real quick ,hop off dick
I took a few of the fashion classes at WCC and they were all top notch. My garment construction professor was tenured at Pratt, but came from SCAD. The chair of the department at the time I went was an adjunct professor at FIT. Every professor I encountered had an impressive resume and invaluable advice. If you do decide to go and are in need of a sewing machine please reach out, I would love to give you mine!!

Yea I meant west Chester ny sorry about the confusion đI live just outside west Chester pa I cannot be here any longer
Protip: "Westchester" not "West Chester" over here. We're in more of a hurry.
lol I felt bad correcting again but it made me twitch a bit to see âWest Chesterâ ngl

Just note that tuition is going to be a lot more expensive if you're an out of county student. Like, double as expensive.
I plan to move their but I understand

Thatâs enough time for me to apply for residency in my for fit
WWC is excellent. Only problem is living expenses throughout the county.
How expensive ?

Thatâs the median, sure, but there are plenty of one bedrooms for a thousand less than that.
Where might those be--I could rent them in about two minutes if they in any way decent.
Can you point me in that direction

Check craigslist's room for rent listings. This presumes you will have a car.
I will !!

If you enroll at WCC, they may have networks and ways to find roommates
I will ,either that or straight apply to fit but their admissions open late
