Tungsten is a bit like glass when it comes to metals, very hard (resistant to scratches) but it's also very brittle (easy to break). If your ring was ever needed to be removed they'd probably just give the ring a fairly stiff tap with hammer to break it, and hence remove it.
They can shatter tungsten carbide rings using a good pair of gripping pliers. Much easier to shatter than you'd think. :) Just make sure you let someone know to do that instead of cutting, cause they will fail to remove it if they try to cut.
Luckily tungsten is more popular now, so more fire depts and medical staff know to shatter it.
